[Q] XDA Access - New Member - About xda-developers.com

Seems like I can't get to many of the posts...it merely says I do not have access.

Can you show a link or two that you cannot access?
It's only replying that is restricted, and only within development forums

Sorry to threadjack slightly but what is the post count required to reply in development? It says 10 on the error page but when I try to reply, I still get to the error page.
Edit: all good now.

Your signature looks fine to me

vBulletins Signature Cache is still buggy. Once you edit your signature, all of your NEW posts will have your signature in them.
All of your prior posts... you will have to "Advanced Edit" and check the "Show my Signature" checkbox.

there are certain limitations on junior member accounts to reduce the amount of spam in the forum
though I'm not familiar with any details posting urls is one of them and I would wager creating a sig is another
after a certain amount of posts that problem should resolve itself
cheers

Looks like I have some work to get to, hehe.
Yes, certain limitations are set in place against new users to combat spammers, including not being able to post urls or have a signature. I believe this restriction was removed once you reached 10 posts, so I would check this again and let me know if you still have restrictions in place
Im good now.
Excellent, glad to hear

[Q] Viewing new posts in which you have participated

Hello, this is the only vBulletin forum that I browse(I'm more of a SMF guy, I use it and develop for it) and I can't find the place where I can see new topics in which I have participated(Tapatalk does this for this forum). Is there a link where I can see the new topics?

A couple of things you can do:
1
Subscribe to threads you are interested in and receive email notification of new posts being added.
2
Bookmark your profile page http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1153710 and in there go to the statistics tab>Find all posts by. Then by clicking on your posts you can see if there have been any replies.
Not sure if these links might work also:
Find all posts by Dragooon123
Find all threads started by Dragooon123
Mike
im using subscription witout email, means i can go to my user cp and i see all threads i subscripted that have new posts
so i dont get too many emails but see all new replys..
The question is,
why does the XDA app offer this feature,
but the full version of the board does not?
I could theoretically run an emulator, run the XDA android app, and use this forum MORE efficiently than actually turning on a laptop. I use the 'participated' area every single day.
That seems backward. There has to be a way to pull this data to a web browser, if it can be pulled to an Android phone.

You should set your usercp so that it will automatically subscribe to threads you reply to (without notification)
Then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all to view them.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I haven't found an answer to the same question, and this is the only time I have seen it have replies. Finding threads posted by a user will not do the same thing, the participated thread button in the tapatalk or xda app does. One should not have to subscribe to every thread either, that would be pointless considering that is for threads you REALLY want to follow.
The information is accessible to the app, which means ultimately it would be easy to implement on the website, and it is counter productive you can only find it in app. The best answer I have is find the posts in the app, but if I have to post something longer, or with links, I have to find the thread on the website.
As popular as this site is, this feature would improve quite a bit.. people(maybe more noobs) would actually follow threads they've posted questions on, so the replies aren't a waste of time. How many threads have multiple people asked for more details and the OP never replies.. Subscribing to threads would only work on any new posts, and some of my oldest ones I would still want to know activity for. This all seems obvious.

Welcome to forums
You need to arrive to certain number of posts so all XDA features can be unlocked.
Keep posting and you´ll get soon.
I was posting a solution to fix annoying wi-fi issues with Samsung Galaxy I 9000 with images but the forum is not allowing me to post ? I plan to contribute a full series of problem fixes with this particular device. Can any mod allow images only (no links to other sites) for my account ?

[Q]What are the different XDA 'Ranks'?

Title says it all really, I was just interested in what all the different ranks you can have are, and what the requires are to get them, for example how does one become a recognised developer?
I'm assuming one becomes a recognized developer by developing something and getting recognized for it...
No kidding.... but there must be either a script or a way someone decides if you are or not
Sent from my Desire S using XDA App
there is a application, a committee and MANY posts about it on the portal (there was one today), and in the various 'About XDA' threads.
not being able to search is a good sign you wouldnt be accepted.
might want to check out the new user guide in my sig to find your way around the site and learn where to find the info you want.

And besides the main question was what ranks are there, the recognised developer was just a example!
Sent from my Desire S using XDA App
I have found the search functions (especially in the app) significantly lacking. And *gasp* God forbid anyone ask a question twice! It's like mortal and eternal sin to not search. Don't know what I'd rather see: better search, or a little tolerance.

Yes I am pretty sure ranks like member and all that is based off the amount of posts you make. If I am correct junior member is 0-29 post, member is 30-99 posts, and senior member is 100+ posts
Form
There's a form
Check these
Minimun Requirements

Good luck

Well most of us do understand the rules. But to post a LONGER argumentative answer, rather than the right answer is unproductive of everyone's time. Maybe XDA should just flat out delete threads that were already answered instead of OPs constantly telling noobs to search and to carry on the thread longer than needed.
So.To answer your question... (16 words or fewer)
0 to 29 posts - Junior Member
30 to 99 posts - Member
100 + posts - Senior Member
What you already know is also listed below which is...
Anyone other user title such as "developer" or "contributor" has to "apply" or be "Granted" the title based off of what they do. ie. roms, kernels, themes, etc.

I can't see my own posts

Hey guys, whenever I check my statistics in this page, it shows I have 11 posts
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=7043986
But whenever I click on "Find all posts by Akash_Jain" it just shows one result and as much as I remember I just have 1 post, so why is it showing that I have 11 posts? And yeah onew thing, in the development section, I had tried to get my posting privileges elevated. Is it that they elevated my privileges? But I didn't get any notification regarding the thing. Please clear out the thing.
Thanks

Yup, that's why. You applied for the bypass of 10 post restrictions and that's why your count is 10 higher than your actual count. :good:

You can request a section for your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354
Only then will you have that option. But many things factor in to device section decisions. But good luck! :good:

When a section is added for a device, so is the option to choose it as a "my devices".
