I've used the Zagg Invisible shield on my Samsung Omnia, iPad, and Blackberry Storm before. Never used SGP.
Anyone used or tried both could comment on which they prefer. The SGP looks interesting and wonder if it is worth it or not vs invisible shield.
Ones a wet install the other is a dry install. Depends on what you are looking to get out of it. Had a SGP install was a train wreck. Have a ZAGG now. The SGP takes a lot of your outside glare away as well as finger prints and has a smooth surface for gamming.Like i said i bought one and its tthe last one i would buy. Search around there is a post about it. Pay attention to how many fails people expierenced.
If you take your time, use a clean, humid room, the SGP isn't too hard to install. I have it on my DX and Xoom and love it on both.
Ghost Armor
I have ghost armor Full body screen protectors on and its awesome so I suggest checking Ghost Armor.

Agree, I have SGP on both my X and Xoom and they both went on easily and you can't even tell it's installed on either of them.
I had a nightmare install ZAGG on my fiancées iPad.
I'm so nervous. I just ordered another Steinheil after ruining the first one due to a single fleck of something that slipped in during application. I'm going to try again, but I fear the worst. It isn't easy. I thought about going with something else, but this is a monster I need to conquer. It looked great outside of that damn bubble.
I know this is between SGP and Zagg, but has anyone else tried using www.stealthguards.com ? I used it on my G2 (it was free, just pay shipping) and it came out pretty well. It's a wet install, but you have to make the solution (I think it's hand soap and water). I used my spray from my Zagg that I had on my nexus one, and it came out pretty good. Can't even tell there's anything on the screen and it hasn't peeled off either.
http://stealthguards.com/index.php/motorola-xoom.html
If anyone's interested in checking it out...it's $20. I think I might get another one for the Xoom I just got.
I put on a Zagg a few days ago. I have mixed feelings about it. The wet application made it easy to apply with no bubbles, but it wasn't a perfect fit. Three sides are perfect but the bottom edge is a little short. Not by much, but enough to frustrate me (I can be a bit of a perfectionist).
dont like zagg, but had best buy install it, and it looks ok; a bit of orange peel, but no fingerprints what so ever...

For it's price (best bang for buck), what's the best screen guard for protection and not altering the screen lighting view.
If you are one of the users who switched from one to another, please post your feedback and experience! Helps a lot! Also if you know the major negatives of certain products, please post!
I was initially looking at generic, cheaper ones (after all its just a piece of plastic) but read around that it might not be wise. Is there really that big of a difference to justify more expensive ones?
Thanks!

I have the "Full Body" Ghost Armor for my Vibrant and I love the body protection. The screen protector by Ghost Armor wasn't really what I was looking for, albeit the body protection is Top-Notch from using the invisible shield, since it offers corner protection. I would stay away from ghost armor and invisible shield, since they both have that orange peel effect, while the ghost armor has less of it. I'm looking into the SGP Steinheil, since it has many rave reviews. Though I can't comment on how well it truly does perform though, since I have not used the product yet.
what's the best matte style screen protector? too bad realook doesnt make a matte version. I have the regular "anti fingerprint" one and it still glares and fingerprints. The matte one that apple made when i had an iphone was amazing, too bad I cant find a similiar quality one for the Vibrant =(
have ghost armor and I notice no orange peel effect and have been using it for several months. I didnt care for the full body protection as i always felt the edges of the armor and it annoyed the hell out of me. So I just kept the screen protection and removed everything else.

i use the ishield (not the zagg one but similar) and its awesome. pulled it off my old phone, put it on my new one, still looks fantastic. best protector i have ever used, only ever needed the one.
I decided to go with the reallook, because of the overwhelming vote. I would agree and love this screen protector, more than the last. This post was a ton of help, thanks!
That realook looks awesome but right now I'm currently using a generic one from ebay. I got it for $1.70 shipped and it's really great! You get 3 protectors inside the package with a small cleaning cloth.
I'm quite picky about screen protectors, I don't like the sticky ones that makes me hard to scroll down the screen or if it makes my screen dimmer (anti-glare). I usually prefer a clear, scratch resistant, smooth feeling, and easy to install screen protector. And gues what? Three screen protectors for $1.70, this thing really did the job well! Can't beat that!
did the generic ones offer the same look and glare protection as realook?
^I havn't tried the realook yet but I'm pretty sure that you'll be satisfied with this one that I'm using right now. I can't post the link cause I have less than 8 post but I'll try to send it to you via PM.
Realook...I had the T-Mobile one, Clearfreak, and some cheap store brand. The t-mobile screen I don't like at all because it distorts the screen and it also doesn't fit the entire screen. The store brand (don't remember what it was) was too hard to apply and had too much finger drag. The clearfreak was cool, but had too much finger drag/grip, and had a rubbery quality. It also picked up scratches because of the depth of whatever material it uses. Obviously protects your screen well, but I just didn't love the feel and it was occasionally tough to swype. The realook is the easiest one to apply (no soap and water), you can get it to go on with no bubbles where I could not get the bubbles out of the other ones, you can remove it, clean it, and put it back on very easily, and you would never know it was on your phone. I think realook takes this by miles, at least for me. Well worth it.
how does realook apply? because if you can peel and clean and reput it back on, it must be some special method to put it on
i bought a generic screen protector off ebay... it came with my case for under 6 bucks CAD it was for a i9000... works just fine except there is wierd hole that opens up between the haptic keys .. no orange peel & ive had it for 6 months.
Realook is the best. I had tried other screen protector but they all have that weird residue and feeling on the screen protector. I can't even tell that I have a screen protector with Realook. Best screen protector by far!
I bought the Realook based on what I have seen on this forum. It's great. It beats every screen protector I've tried. It's very easy to apply. It looks and feels like it's not even there.
Thanks!
Anyone use one of these skins/shields on their phone? Anyone customize a skin before? Does it come out good?
Im also interested in peoples experiences with products like these.
I've had a bit of experience with Zagg. I do like them, but I personally struggle with the installation a bit. My other half seems to have more luck than me, so she gets to do most of them!
As far as protection goes, they're very good. They do, however, have an 'orange-peel' texture which can take some getting used to, and does provide some resistance against the finger.
A friend of mine uses Skinomi skins on just about everything. He has a penchant for the Carbon Fibre ones, and they look terrific when done properly. Set yourself aside a good bit of time to get it right, make sure you're in a dust-free room (especially if they're clear skins) and use a credit card as opposed to the 'squeegee' thing that comes with them. I also found heating the actual protectors with a hairdryer allows them a bit more flexibility. This little tip works for regular screen protectors too!
Good luck!
Recommendation on screen protector
I used a screen protector on my device branded "Ewoti".It is quite awsome. I used some screen protectors before, but the clarity after application were not good. However, this named "Ewoti" screen protector impressed me very much with its high definition. Also It can anti-scratch, anti-fingerprints. Really very awsome.
I'm using Zagg invisible Shield on my P500... It's a very good screen protector.
I used Skinomi on my Asus TF & it was one of the easiest installs ever. I have to admit I prefer the wet apply over the dry because it's forgiving if you mess up & I mess up a lot on the dry apply, especially when it comes to a tablet. The screen protector feels a little rubbery in the beginning but it doesn't anymore after a few months. The downside to Skinomi was I wasn't able to use my tablet for 48-72 hours. I had some serious tablet withdraws but I survived.
Hope that helps.
I'm using a Zagg Invisible Shield on my iPad. I'm very satisfied with the invisible shield! It's very strong and although it takes time to properly apply it; when it sticks, it sticks (or so to say ).
I personally can't stand the "tacky" feel those screen protectors give.
I just ordered a full body skin from Skinit. It seems to me that the DROID3 should be as naked as possible so i went with a skin and a pocket pouch. I'll post when i receive it and get it installed
i love zagg have used them on my last 4 phones
Zagg has the best screen protectors, they are the only ones I use now. Skinit has awesome skins. I had a maple wood pattern one on my OG droid that I got for $4.00 on Amazon.

Zagg is very good. A bit pricey, though...
meh
skinit is just a vinyl overlay, like a giant sticker. It wasn't for me, the edges peeled after a bit and I couldn't get them back down. All gunked up. That was on my cell of course, the one for my laptop is good though!
I'm using a bestskinsever skin.. and for $10 it works great. I don't have any experience with the more expensive ones but I've bought like 10 BSEs and they've all be great.
I've had them on iphone 2g, 3g, 4g and now a Sammy SGS2!
I've had both the zagg and the skinomi. The zagg is a stronger screen protector but the skinomi is pretty good for how cheap it is, just beware not to use it with a tpu case. My tpu case made the skinomi peal off. The skinomi will get some dings from your finger nails if they are too hard, the invisible shield won't.

Check out Steinheil anti-fingerprint screen protector. It has a matte finish so it isn't sticky like some of the other protectors I have used. I use Swype on my phone and I can just glide over the screen without any resistance at all. Has held up great for me. About $12 for a 2-pack.
Hello,
Do you recommend Belkin Anti-Glare Screen protector for SGS2? (if you have used it) If not, which screen protector do you recommend? The most important thing for me: It nearly shouldn't have any affect on touch screen sensitivity.
Thanks.
You see im in the camp of whats the point of a screen protector, adding another layer to screen. I just use a cheap clam flip case to keep the screen safe. Only just had S2 but never had a screen protector on my sgs for over year and never got a mark on it

I'm using a basic silicon case. Flip cases are protecting well but having a flap hanging around while using the phone is a little bit annoying for me. I want to use it because, Gorilla Glass screen is just scratch resistant, not scratch-proof. There are many people reporting scratches after just daily use. Also Anti-Glare films making the screen easier to slide, especially in games like Fruit Ninja

OK, I will be glad if you let me know about it. It looks fine. But I couldn't find any local online shop selling Estoc protectors. So, i think I'm going to buy this one tomorrow:

I will write about it.
I have tried the SGP ultra oleophobic, and this worked well for 2 weeks, but after that it would start to attract oil, ... the opposite of what it was supposed to do, the plus side is that it doesn't have tint and the screen looks good. I am now going to try the Halo screen protector. Let us know how you screen protector turns out.
I really like the one that comes with the otterbox for the S2.
it's easy to put on and fits perfectly!
hope this helps
Definitely Zagg invisibleSHIELD.
I couldn't find them locally either. GMarket was the only place I could find them online, I split the cost of shipping with a few other people from XDA.

It also is much smoother, no orange peel & is not tacky unlike zagg products.
But zagg is still a very good product in my opinion.

zagg is a good brand/product ... but the invisible shield, like chrisjcks said, is not smooth which affect the touch response cause of that tacky feel of it
Received the 3M Estoc screen protector today. It's quite solid, and enables you to 'buff out' minor scratches & dings on the protector. This is due to a coating on the protector itself that obviously wears away over a period of time. It comes with a 49873 page encyclopedia with instructions on how to fit (due to having instructions in 192 different languages). The package contains the protector itself, a microfibre cleaning cloth, a cardboard thingy to smooth out the bubbles when you fit the protector and a few dust removal stickers.
Fitting was no more difficult or different to any other screen protector, just a case of making sure the screen is perfectly clean/free of dust, then slowly/carefully applying it to the screen & smoothing out the bubbles as you go.
This is a good protector if you're using a bumper case & don't have your screen covered, it will easily handle being in a pocket with other items & should protect the screen quite well. It will probably last at least a couple of months (maybe more, depending on how rough you are with your phone) if you use your phone like this. As I use a flip case, it will probably be good for much longer than this, as the face of the phone won't be exposed to the lining of pockets, keys, loose change, etc, etc.
Now to the question of value. Is it worth the ~$25 or so ? Compared to the $15 protector I had on my phone previously, and given I use a flip case which protects the screen anyways, probably not. I doubt I'll be spending another $25 on one of these when it comes time to get a new screen protector.
But if you're someone who uses bumper cases/etc & likes having a 'nudie' screen, I'd definitely recommend these. Obviously if you only order one from GMarket the shipping will make it a fairly expensive exercise, but you could always order more than one/some other stuff from that site, or find someone on XDA to go dutch on the postage who lives in your country like I did (thanks to Victaaaa for same )
The Zagg invisibleSHIELD is the best in my opinion, uses a fluid that facilitates the placement may be withdrawn and placed if things do not go well the first time, this has the orange peel effect but this in no way affects the image or touch . I used it in the first SGS for 1 year and now I'm using it in SGSll about 8 months.
i recommend sgp ultra crystal too...i am using for 5 months and i have no problem at all...fully satisfied.
Thanks for all recommendations. I couldn't have any time to buy one yet; but I hope I'm going to buy this weekend from a store near here. I'm going to buy Belkin, if I can't find it I will prefer SGP or Zagg.

I use SGP Ultra Crystal and so far so good.
Zagg is probably the worse of all of them because of its tacky-ness. Also its scratch healing properties wear off after a month or so. The best is the 3M Estoc+ followed by SGP or RG Japan.
sgp ultra, solid choice in my opinion.. can't go wrong
I recommend SGP ultra crystal film or 3M estoc
I want to find a wet apply screen proctecor (Horrible at putting screen protectors on)that covers everything but the catch is i don't want a rubber feel to it i want it to feel like glass or smooth like plastic. I don't care about glare or finger prints because they can come off. Like I said all I want is wet apply,no rubber feel to touch, doesn't take away from the beautiful screen.
Please help and I looked at the poll they had but didnt hint on the info im looking for.

I have the XO Skin protector and while there is some tackiness to it, it's not as bad as others I've had in the past. I still use Swype without issue.
I don't think any of the wet application protectors available will suit your requirements. They all have some degree of "grip" to them. The only "smooth like glass" protectors I know of are dry applications.
Oh i see lol well what about the flex?
Xtreme Guard has been working great for me. No orange peel and they are only $1.99.

I find the XO Skins to be the most forgiving for micro bubbles under the screen protector. The only time that I haven't had a perfect application of the screen protector, was when I got a piece of lint or fiber under it.
Looks good and lasts pretty long with warranty to back it up. Only thing is its expensive compared to some you can find on ebay, but I believe there is a 40% discount code floating around somewhere from memorial day sale
XO skins man. Fits perfect and barely noticeable. If you use a case make sure you get the case fit. Love it. Used to have the zagg invisible shield but IMO opinion XO skins destroys it.

Hey guys! I now have Zagg installed on the front of my phone.
1) How long do I have to let it sit and dry for I can stick it in my pocket?
2) How long do I have to let it sit before I can stick a case on my phone?
SO far I like the feel to it! It is also the HD version and looks like it covers the whole screen. So 2 big pluses in my book! So the corners peel easy? This is my first time really using their product. So far so good and no air bubbles that I can see. Some will need to dry out I am sure over the next few days.
Thanks!
I have the zagg HD and I messed it up a bit by putting my case on it too early. I would say let it dry for a few hours before putting a case on it. If your pocket is empty, you should be ok, but to be safe, wait a few hours before you do that too.

Great! I installed it yestersday so its all most been 24 hours. I will prolly wait like 48 hours before the case just to be on the safe side.
What cases are good for the Zagg front only? Let me know if you have any reconditions!
I bought my SIII at Bestbuy and the clerk put the zagg invisible shield on it. He took all of several minutes to install the shield, then put a rocketfish hard case on the phone. No problems. The hard case is a two piece case though. The top snaps into the bottom. The clerk did a good job with the shield. No bubbles, very smooth and nice fit. I never cared for screen shields before, but the zagg HD invisible shield is a very nice product. I started using the phone immediately with no issues with the screen protector.

Are you guys happy with Zagg? I have used it before, and have known plenty of others who have used it...
I am baffled as to how they stay in business (good marketing?). It's expensive, tacky, and has the worst orange peel effect by far of any soft screen protector. Also, the viewing quality quickly deteriorates compared to competitive products.
Products like Steinheil, phantomskinz, ect... are superior, and cheaper IMO.
i am happy with the HD version on my SGSIII. Also liked it on my iphone.
And remember the life time warranty replacement applies to the orange effect. just make sure you keep the old one so you can send it back. or they will charge you the full price for replacement.

I only stay because if I need a new one all it costs me is a stamp, envelope and 3.99. No matter what happens to my IS that is all it costs. I will check into the others you listed if I remember them when I get a new phone. If it isn't the same to get it replaced then I'm going back to Zagg.
