Anyone have any information on development for this? Really enjoying the custom ringtones, but I would like to be able to have my own custom alarm sound. I know there are alarm apps out there that allow this, but obviously using the native app has its advantages.

have a look at this thread as it tells you what you need to do.
Much thanks. Will take a look when I get a chance.
Thanks tempest !!
It appears that the file structure was changed slightly in the NoDo update, as this method does not work on the Arrive. Can someone confirm this?

I have a Dash with the rickywatt's Rom on it and I want to do something, but I'm not sure how. What I want to do is be able to use .mp3 files for things like text message alerts, alarms, etc. Is this possible?
Additionally, is there any possible way to assign specific ringtones to people? I loved that feature in my older phones, but I can't seem to find it on the HTC Excalibur.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Contacts\Choose who you want\Edit\Custom Ringtone, they need to be on the phone memory
Great answers! Thank you so much!
Ok, I've tried not to make a thread about it and read around and try things on my own, but I cannot figure out two things with my phone. Maybe neither can be done..
1- The way my Kaiser used to label pictures was yyyymmddhhmm_###.jpg
So the file would be something like 200906302055_045.jpg
I can't figure out how to make my TP2 do this. The pictures save as IMAGE_014.jpg as an example and that is unhelpful when you don't keep all your pictures on your phone and you're flashing, etc. Does anyone know if that is even possible?
2-I really like the TF3D text conversation window..Except that it doesn't update when someone messages me. So I have to leave the window and come back, kinda defeating the purpose of it for me. Is this normal or is it fixable?
Thanks for any information

awesome thanks. It's too bad they made this so hard to do. I'll bet a lot of people prefer it the other way as well.
Ok... I have been searching for an answer and I cannot find this anywhere.
If I have an unread text message, when I reboot my phone I get this annoying "song" letting me know I have an unread text message. It does not stop until I unlock the phone and at least pull down the notification bar.
I think it is some version of the "over the horizon" jingle.. I have searched in the system/media folder to see if it is located there in order to delete it, however the only one that sounded similar was the acoustic "over the horizion" .ogg - but renaming that with .bak at the end did not rectify the problem.
Does anyone know where the system is pulling this sound from? I want to replace it with something a little more.. mature. Or get rid of it all together.
Any help is appreciated. If you don't know what I am talking about, please leave the thread for more experienced users to reply instead of cluttering it with questions.

It's not going to be easy to help you without asking a question, but I'll try.
Check the Notifications folder on intsd for the sound file. If not there, you can search for audio files with any file explorer to find it. But the folder you checked and the one I listed are going to be the most common places for notifications.
Stop using stock Samsung messaging app because it's garbage. In any case, you've overlooked a setting (in messenger app), probably.
I have already run a search using root explorer that covered the entire system, and did not find any .ogg or .wav sound files I had not already checked.
It's not a setting in the stock messaging app (which, btw, works perfectly for me and definitely better than any 3rd party messaging app IMO)
There's nothing in the internal SD card notification folder except for the facebook pop sound. Only a beginner would not have checked that.
This is why I said let more experienced users answer, preferable Devs who understand the architecture of the stock GS3 system folders.
The further I look into this issue, the more I am beginning to think it's a T-Mobile function that cannot be disabled in the stock ROM without modifying the ROM itself. I have found threads in other forums where it's even an issue in T-Mobile Windows phones.
I do however remember there was a way to disable it on one of my old phones.. either the MyTouch 4G or the SGS2.. but I cannot find the xda thread from way back then.
My search continues.. I will post any information I find out.
Update: Checked the build.prop file and I can see where the default "alarm_alert=Walk_in_the_forest.ogg" is called out, however I do not think this is the cause as that .ogg file does not sound like the alert I am hearing. I believe the line of code I am looking at only dictates the default alarm sound. Continuing to troubleshoot..
Does anybody know if there are custom apps or widgets that can be run in the sview window? I just feel like it'd be great to check an email, maybe scan a bar code for eBay, or do anything more than just reading texts and changing songs within s-view. It seems really simple but I'm having a difficult time finding any info on this.
I would like to know this as well. All I've seen so far is an Xposed module that lets you change the music player, but not custom apps.
I actually ended up finding a thread on hacking the s-view background and another on just hacking it in general. They seem to be adding backgrounds into ROMS actually. Even if someone completely replaced s-view with an app, maybe a shrunken down mini-game, or a music player.. Something..
This part may be strange and off topic, but I also thought it'd be awesome if somebody hacked a fake s view and added some buttons, that way when you flip it over, it starts up a gameboy emulator..
The thread is here
So I've figured out that the images are stored inside SViewCoverService.apk but I'm still searching for the executable files. I want to replace it with a launcher or something. If anyone knows what files are launched when the cover is on, please do share.

Nice I have been looking for this. Thanks for sharing the thread man.
UPDATE - thanks to kwerdenker pointing me in the right direction I stumbled upon this post which is amazingly helpful for anyone else interested!

I'm trying to add a custom iconset I made to a paid theme of mine. As posted by a couple other people there are apparently some issues with this that no one can figure out. Well I am making this post to hopefully find people who are willing to help me squash this. As an independent themer with limited time this frustrates the piss out of me. I also have Go Locker themes that no one can every help me with my issues and it drives me crazy... anyway back to Zooper. This is my post from G+
having problems with my apk when I build it since I added my custom iconset. can anyone give me any insight on this?
currently it's in
assets/iconset/whatever/whatever/config.xml.jet with the font in there also whatever.ttf.jet
this is how it's exported in the apk templete from the app itself though and thats the only thing not working, is the iconset.
so to recap, the app install, loads, and works minus my icons from the custom iconset.
I'm lost.
I also tried removing all the .jet extensions like someone suggested and it didn't fix it...
the name of the iconset shows up and everything. just no preview image. it was like that when it was .jet too.
tried taking away all the .jet extensions everywhere too... no luck
trying to build using Android Studio if that matters
so far I tried taking out one of the folders so it was just
/assets/iconsets/whatever/config.xml & the font and that got letters to show up at least, just not from my font.
I also tried putting the zip file in there so it was
/assets/iconsets/whatever.zip
no luck either way... anyone else care to chime in or have any other ideas?

Font-based icon sets are broken in Zooper APKs. This has been a known problem for a long time and there have been some attempts to fix this issue but those were by users most of the time (here is one good example: https://plus.google.com/u/0/106201536507820539535/posts/dY1vras522H). The devs haven't responded to this for a while now. Might be they are working on it, might also be that theme APKs are not a priority anymore since the buyout through Themer. Hard to tell since the communication with the developers has stopped almost entirely.

Thank you so much for this information. It's sad to see one of the best customization apps on Android lose support like that but not surprising. So... are we able to create Themer themes? I can't imagine them being much different than their Zooper counterpart.
