Few n00b questions.
Firstly, how do i flash a nightly on my phone? lets say im running ofw 2.2 SEA edition? Do i follow the same procedure as if to flash RC1... do i also need to flash gapps similarly.
Secondly, are the links on quarxs' CM7 for defy thread up-to-date? or are there newer versions of gapps and nightlies floating around somewhere
Third, i have noticed that there is an issue with network and wi-fi when i flash cm7 RC1 over the nordic sbf. when i go back to official 2.2 SEA there is no hassle at all. Since i live in india i was wondering if that was the issue. I can easily take care of the network problem using "baseband switcher for defy" but it still doesnt help the wi-fi problem.
My question is.. will using the new BOOTSEA nightly solve this problem. I am assuming from the name is boot"SEA" im assuming its built southeastasia specific.
Fourth, ive used CM7 RC1 for a while and apart from the wifi issue i got problems with camera and video... it absolutely doesnt work, wether it be in potrait or landscape or whatever setting... the app just force closes. Any fixes for that.. ive got green lens.
please help!!! and i hope other similar questions can be added by members here so as to make this thread an FAQ for distressed users like me.

--> I'd say install RC1 and gapps first, then try a nightly by just wiping cache and Dalvik - no need to install gapps again since they're on your phone now. If you install a BOOT version and want to go back to an earlier CM7 nightly, then you might want to start from scratch, reflash froyo and install RC1 + gapps again.

--> mostly up to date, but I don't worry about gapps too much as I believe that the Market gets updated automatically anyway (but I might be wrong about that). On the OP, the link to the gapps should show you up to date versions; but read the comments on there - very important.

---> My camera and video worked on RC1 (and earlier) but video recording had some chopiness at times. Around July 11th nightly, Quarx released a camera fix (in that nightly) that solved the problem for me. But then days later, on newer nightly builds, I got the FC problem on video camera (same as you but red lens here). Then with BOOT179-4, camera was fine again and so the wifi speed; so all good for me.
--------> I really don't know what's going on with the video camera: many poeple have problems and many have it working on every nightly builds. It has been a problem from day one for Quarx on CM7-jordan... You have to try and see which build works for you I guess. And like you said, BOOT-SEA definitely looks like something you should try - many people liked it and many people say yesterday nightly is the best for them so far... so go on and have fun with testing
---> Before you do more testing though, you can always do a backup from the custom recovery so it will be easy for you to restore your current phone state -if nothing improves. I do this all the time: stock recovery factory reset, nordic flashing, RC1 install then restore my (BOOT179-4 now) backup.

i went thru the whole FAQ but my doubts are regarding the nightlies which it doesnt address hence the thread.
thx for the concern though.
downloaded the BOOTSEA, but there is another file "cm7-110726-0018-BOOTSEA-Jordan.zip.md5sum" mentioned below it. ( there are similar md5sum files for all nightlies...) are they essential ? and how do i use them.
wanted to clarify before proceeding.

Md5 files are to verify your download is not corrupted one. Which you can compare the md5 after downloading the zip file and regenerating the md5 of downloaded file and check against the one in the server.

How's the BOOTSEA doing for you?
The nightly ones is just the output that the ones who are working on the rom ups to us. Normally have all that part on topic that say "next version:..."
If you wanna try the nightly one, use as the *.zip that you download when got the "rc1 v2" for exemple. So wipe the phone, choose install from a zip of the sdcard and choose the *.zip, been it the rc1 or the nightly build.
The md5sum file is the one that contains the 5sum from the file. Its nornaly given when you have to download a big file and have fear to corrupt the file. If you use linux, go on terminal and type "5sum file" when file is the name of any file that you have. It will give you a big number. This is the 5sum. The *.md5sum have the 5sum of the respective *.zip nightly rom.

Hi, since I'm not allowed to post on development threads (new user), I want to report this "possible" issue with Mike's Android Revolution HD 7.1.0 for HTC One X.
I recently updated from ARHD 4.1 (which I've been using for more than a month with no issues to report) to 7.1 and noticed that few games continuously hang for a second or less.
How to reproduce:
Install TowerDefense free game from Android Market. While playing the screen freezes for 1 second (the game music also stops), then it resumes normally for a couple of seconds before it re-freezes again. And during the freeze, you can clearly hear a tick in your mobile's hardware.. it's like a small cracking, like the one you hear when you reboot a laptop!
I wonder if it is a ROM issue or my device who got sick after ARHD 7.1.0 upgrade. Anyone else had the same issue?
It seems Mike is going to release a new ROM today or soon, hope it will clear the issue.

Of course this is your user or a hardware error, there is nothing of this kind wrong with Mike's ROM. Probably you didn't follow all necessary steps.
So, prior to flashing 7.1.0:
Did you superwipe?
Did you flash the proper boot.img in fastboot?

No, I didn't superwipe since I wasn't coming from stock ROM.
I only cleared the cache, flashed the proper 7.x boot, cleared the dalvik cache, and then installed the new ROM from sdcard.

ok, I will repeat with superwipe... I was only avoiding loosing customization
for me i had more game lags with arhd 7.1.0
i think 6.1.0 is better
so i think u should flash 6.1.0
becasue 4.04 is still under testing its a leaked version

I'm using ARHD 7.1.0 and I have no issues with any game what so ever, Max Payne, Spider man, Sonic 4, Heroes Call, Asphalt 7, Dead trigger, all are working perfectly.

they are all working perfectly with no lag what so ever ? like sonic thd 2 or shadow gun thd they dont lag at all ? ?are u sure ?

are u using any special tweaks ? or are u using setcpu or system tuner ? or special settings in governon ?
It is a must to superwipe when a new rom with a new base is released.
As for your tweaks/mods you have to wait for it for your base.
Besides, mike never forgets to put "no need to wipe if from x.x.x release".
If you want to keep your apps just titanium backup them.
Contacts sync to google if you saved them on your google account.
as for tweaks, well sorry mate you'll have to flash the newer versions for your base or wait for the release for your base.
This shouls clear things up

No lags, none, zero, runs smooth as butter, no tweaks, no mods, simple ARHD 7.1.0 flash with stock kernel.

Hey guys, I just superwiped before installing the new ARHD 7.2 (of course after flashing the correct boot.img and clearing cache) and got the same issue with TowerDefense game... So I'm thinking maybe it is a game compatibility issue with Android 4.0.4, and as ayhamx360 mentioned I will give it a shot and revert back to ARHD 6.1.1 (Android 4.0.3) as soon as I get some free time.
Another interesting "thing" to note in this new release (maybe it is an option in Android 4.0.4 and not in the custom ROM) is the new copy-paste behavior, that is:
(in any text editor i.e. note or task) If you have something copied to your clipboard, and wanna copy it after you wrote a few words, (tap and hold on until the menu appears) it will automatically select the last word written, then you need to tap again to have the "Paste" with no selection... it's not an issue but kinda annoying though

just flashed ARHD 6.1.1 twice... the first time was unsuccessful (with super-fast Rosie it was unable to load desktop), the second time successful with default stock Rosie. After testing: Games are OK, no more hanging/freezing. Pasting text OK as well.

before posting this question i searched for my problem and i couldnt find a solution, i hope someone out there had the same problem and can help a noob.
-i have a gt 7105 unlocked generic.
-rooted
-twrp 2.4.1
-custom rom (cleanRom, 4.5 (congrats to the developer by the way))
problem is, i can install with no problem the 4.5 version, ALTHOU there is a new version 4.6.1 that i just cant install.
on the recovery everything is fine ( of course i do clean flash, wipe cash, format etc) but then i get stuck with the "samsung gt 7105" boot screen.
guys, i think i am missing something, and its buggin me. thanks for reading, any help is welcome. ( sorry if im forgetin to post more info)
ps: i also have a xperia arc, (lupus kernel), with custom rom ( xperia ultimate HD 2.0.3) THAT i am also unable to update/flash a newer version(3.0)!! i think the problem can be related, so i mentioned it.
There is no template way to install or update roms. It must be specified by the dev as to how to update the rom or install it.
It varies with the degree of mods.
You can try changing to appropriate kernels and doing a data wipe.

yes, you are right, and i did as the dev recomended, more than 3 times. i forgot to mention that my kernel is the latest perseus. which is used also by some in conjuction with cleanRom. what is buggin me is that i have no problems with instaling the previous version (4.5).
is it possible that not having the latest TWRP be the source of the problem??

Little Problem
Had a little problem during the installation on Recovery PhilzTouch 6.57.8.
I think is an Aroma graphical incompatibility, no big problems.
It was like the background of the installer was trasparent so during the configuration in Aroma i was able to see the "console command" on CWM.

Hi seeing as I have been pointed here I'll repeat the question. I cannot get the wake actions to change from default. I can change them and it says that I am using said function but the action still produces the default function. I am s-off and unlocked on an international version. Have no troubles with this on other roms but prefer to use SD. any ideas or help much appreciated.

Using root explorer, go to system /etc/int.d folder, cut and paste in ur sd card, as backup, 99skydragon file, then reboot and try.
Cheers for the reply. So I get to the point of cut and paste and it tells me system is read only. How do I change this. Obviously I'm not too clued up but can follow directions. Thanks

Look, when u are trying to cut an alert will prompt about permissions and rights, say YES, then cut. Try this time with the 40StW file

I haven´t been able to use HTC backup and restore tool after I flash SD v 20 rom.
When installed Rom was not able to restore and now I have FC when try to open the app.

Sorry, it was my fault. I chose not to install My HTC and that caused the FC. Flash again the ROM and now everything is working great.

Really I never use that feature, what always leave it in the rom cause a lot of user use it!
Firmware
Is it useful to flash the newest firmware 3.28.401.9 (the thingy that includes modem files etc.) before flashing v22? I´m currently on v20 with firmware 3.28.401.6. v20 needed the new firmware, otherwise wifi won´t work, but v22 still running with the old one.. Is it recommended to flash it anyway? Unfortunately it´s a very time-consuming process to do the firmware upgrade..

Only if you are facing lots of problems. Im actually on Latest dev edition firmware, not even International, all ok. So i wont update firmware yet

I´ve no problems at all. Battery is great and 3g/LTE recception too. So i´ll wait with firmware update until "L" arrives
Only Problem I noticed is, that I can´t get the Doubletap2Wake / Sweep2Wake funktion work in ExtremeEnergySaving Mode... It vibrates on doubletap/sweep but no wake... :/ Not sure if it´s the rom or my mistake. I´ve enabled the feature in sense mod but it´s only working on ExtendedBatterySaving disabled!

Wake options can be our kernel. Rite now HolyAngel is on Gpe Android L, working on that. Soon will fix it. Meanwhile, i will prepare a new version with an old version of SD kernel till get a new one
Htc One m8 no wifi after intalling custom rom
Guys ive just flashed the latest Skydragon rom to my htc one m8 and now the wifi can't be switched on

DSP error
not sure if it's just me but everytime I open the music app and play music the DSP manager always crashes.

Hello, I just got a new fresh install. EVERYTHING wiped out, even sd card. I'm getting force closes when trying to play music. DSP Manager is not working as it should. Is this a known issue or only me? Thank you, this rom is great!

3g not working and apn keeps unloging me from network, when disabled no probs except no internet... Any ideas?
E: switched wifi hotspot on and disabled adb and it worked...
E2: guess it is just usb debbuging, works fine with bouth off
E3: had some more weird issues then reinstalled rom and all works fine now. I love it, fast and stable. [emoji2]
Hi, i have got this rom for 2 weeks. At the beginning it was fast etc. Now it cant even kepp launcher in memory? When i want to open any app for few mins, then i wan to back to homescreen it is loading all apps and widgets.. Also i cant back to my apps which i used few seconds/minutes ago cuz it's loading like a new open. When i had viperx 4.2.2 it could keep uc browser and some pages for few weeks, and when i wanted to open, it took 1 second for me. Now im feeling like on my 1st galaxy spica.
Is that normal?

Second Q, are videos in browsers woring ok for You? I have to restart HOX sometimes if i want to watch someting. And is there any solution to watch videos like on PC? I mean, my player is everywhere the same. It's annoying becouse, sometimes i have to change resolution but i cant, also i cant turn on full screen mode second time, i have to releod page, then watch it on full screen.

A noob in need of help here

I tried to install your latest version crdroid-5.0.2-20150121-endeavoru on my HTC One X but I got only an infinit HTC image. I am not very familiar with this things but I think I did what the instructions said:
- start on recovery mod (I am using TWRP v2.6.0.0, the one I used the only time I installed a custom rom);
- installed "crdroid-5.0.2-20150121-endeavoru" and "pa_gapps-stock-5.0.1-BETA12-20150116-signed" and did a data wipe in the end;
- reboot.
As I said, after restarting, I get the HTC start image and nothing progresses. Any idea what I am doing wrong (and how to make my phone back to work)?

wi-fi problem

I seem to be having problems with the wi-fi when I change the DPI. I set it to 240, it restarts just fine but the wi-fi doesn't turn on anymore. any solutions? thanks

- start on recovery mod (I am using TWRP v2.6.0.0, the one I used the only time I installed a custom rom);
- installed "crdroid-5.0.2-20150121-endeavoru" and "pa_gapps-stock-5.0.1-BETA12-20150116-signed" and did a data wipe in the end;
- reboot.
As I said, after restarting, I get the HTC start image and nothing progresses. Any idea what I am doing wrong (and how to make my phone back to work)?

If you put the ROM zip on your PC and open the zip file (not unzip) you'll see a boot.IMG inside,extract the boot.IMG to your pc. I'm assuming you've got the fastboot controls on your PC.

recently I've installed the ROM wich is a great build I must say. The experience is smooth and I haven't got any random reboots. But when I reboot the phone, it gets stuck on the HTC logo. After 3 reboots it will work normal again. Sometimes the WIFI doesn't work after a reboot and I have to reboot it again.
Not experienced anymore in build 20150210
Another problem I have is that the AdBlocker isn't working (I still have advertisements in apps) although I've downloaded the latest host files.

Something that bugs me is the fact that I can't choose wich page of my homescreens is my home-homescreen.

The last things that in my opinion are missing are a good (digital) clock widget and a simple mail client. In the original Sense ROMs the clock is fantastic and the mail client is just good. I'm now using K-9 mail, but I think there are too many opions in it. (suggestions?)

Probably some things are fixed in the newest build, but I can't find the changelog of it on XDA. It's there! And how do I update my ROM (I am used to OTA updaters, idea?)? Just dirty install the new ROM?
The answer is dirty flashing. (just install the ROM and clear cache and dalvik (I guess))

Thank you team for a very good rom. I have an HTC One X [Endeavoro] and have experimented with many roms over time. I always fall back onto JB Sense 5 Blade Elite 2.0 with Lyapota mods flashed.
The CM KitKat roms just didn't tick all the boxes for me. Functionality v battery life.
But I am so impressed with this Rom, especially so early in the development.
With crdroid 5.0.2-20150210, I am running the native launcher with PA Gapps mini. Touch recovery 6.0.4.8 gave me a problem restoring the back up but after allowing root access in dev options (I don't know if that made a difference) and flashing twrp-recovery-hox-2.8.1.0 the twrp back up restored perfectly. The Rom is so smooth, battery life is great and everything works!

If you hold your finger on the screen and the pages display, there is a small home icon at the top of your current home screen, just move it to the one you want, It works.
