Hi ,
I Have just a question. People are making a lot of Custom rom with the new sense of Htc Desire HD. But can we install it on a htc Desire if we're rooted. As far as i know there are no big differences between Desire and Desire HD. Has someone try to flash an HTC Desire HD rom onto HTC Desire
Don't know if anyone tried it but think/hope not since it will not work. If you want a HD rom use a port from the Desire Development forum.
The Desire HD has much more internal memory and the new sense needs more space than the normal Desire has. Therefore you can't just use a Desire HD Rom. You need a custom Rom that has been tweaked to fit to the smaller Desire's Nand memory.
If you want a Desire HD Rom, as suggested flash a custom Rom from the developer section, which uses App2SD to move apps to the SD card

Sence 3.0 on the HTC Desire HD uses a diffrent framework to Sence 2.0 on the HTC Desire, so thats why a whole rom port is nessesary.

i already have a rom on my phone but want to try a diff one.

so if you know a nice tut or somthing like that that would guide me from start to finish that would be great.
Hi
Is it possible to flash a Desire HD ROM (like ARHD) into Desire??
Thanks!
It isn't possible to flash a ROM which is made for the Desire HD to your Desire.
But you can take an other one like InsertCoinHD or RCMixHD look at the Desire Index - Everything Desire is here! thread. There's a summary of the ROMs.
Well...there are two ways of flashing HD ROM to your normal Desire:
1. (Hardway) cook/port them yourself
2. (Easyway) choose any available ports by any of the experienced masters.
I am using InsertCoin 2.0.1 Data2Ext.
been looking on the new HTC Desire S but im happy with my Desire and to cheap to buy a new phone...
i do want the new sense and gingerbread in my Desire, been looking at rom´s here and they seem to have sense 3.0 in them...
is there any rom that is only gingerbread and sense 2.1 like the desire s?
Yep!
....
have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
In particular...
This section:
Code:
Sense 1.9/2.1 (GingerBread):
==================================[Latest]=================
[U]Cool.D.Ginger-------------------------------------->[19th/April]
[U]RCMix S-------------------------------------->[1.4]
[U]InsertCoin CM7/A2SD+ STABLE------------------------->[1.0.3]
[U]InsertCoin CM7/A2SD+ NIGHTLY------------------------->[v30]
[U]HiAPK-------------------------------------->[3.7]
[U]HiAPK SenseFun-------------------------------------->[1.1]
[U]Reflex S--------------------------------->[2.0.2 ]
[U]Cool AceS and VisionS----------------->[15th/May ]
[O]SuperDuperAwesome ROM (S-DAR)------------>[0.4 ]
[O]SuperNova GingerSense----------------->[6th/May ]
[O]AuraxTremeGinger----------------------->[8.6 ]
[O]H.D.R---------------------------------->[3.05]
[O]Cool DesireS-------------------------------------->[1]
Also from reading around your best bets are probably InsertCoin and/or RCMix as they also include bits of Sense 3.0 (from Sensation/Flyer)
yes ive looked there to but they all are based on AceS not the SagaS as in DesireS i tried AceS based rom´s but i think the fonts are to small for the Desire screen...

Believe me if you try insertcoin with 1gb ext4 and cm7 hboot, you will see your phone flying....
sense 3 stuff are no longer problem, unless if you want lockscreen icons

ok, i tried the stock Hboot one... havent figured out how install that custom CM7 thing yet... are there any guides that are written for dumbasses like me?
you need to perform S-OFF procedure (note that in order to S-OFF you cant be using a ROM with scripts like a2sd+ or data2ext or any of these - use stock rooted rom or some aosp rom)
then, when S-OFF you need to download custom hboot from alpharev.nl and flash it. it will change your partition layout which will give you more space and SERIOUSLY speed up the phone.

Hello guys,
I am currently running HTC desire with official HTC RUU gingerbread 2.3. Phone is rooted with super user access. I have tried the ice cream sandwich rom but will installt it permanently once it has been refined.
In the interim, is there anyway I can update my phone to using the lastest sense or sense 2.1 even ? I would basically like to stay as stock as possible but with the new htc sense without any compromise in speed. maybe I am asking too much. But could you direct me to a good rom please ?
many thanks
I'm currently on seb15's runnymede aio 5.0.4 with a2sdx and I realy like my desires speed and look. it's with sense 3.5 android 2.3.5 and many other usefull things.
So I recommend this Rom. its speedy and looks great.
thanks, will give it a go
