Just tried and it did not work in the default browser; trying dolphin hd. That didn't work either.

The only browser I know of that runs animated gif is FIREFOX
Only reason I need to see animated gif is for my local weather radar
One thing though, that animation don't work in landscape mode just portrait.
I can even see my animated gif Sig in Firefox browser.
Anyways it would be nice if someone had that feature on a rom
Very cool, im almost certain bonsai has it working but I feel like my battery isn't lasting as long on it. Seeing as their both ec05 based I don't know why their not the same. Lol seems like a small problem but it bugs me.

Ive seen this on the new Dual Core Motorola phones. Is there anyway we can get this on the Epic Touch 4G? More clarity..The screen ui rotation like the iPhone. That would be super sweet!! Thanks..

Its not an app. He's talking about the actual rotation animation when rotating the phone. YouTube it its pretty nice.

With all the fancy transition effects with the Go Launcher I'm running, I'm surprised there's no rotation transition effects.
On the OGEvo MikG has adopted this in his Tom somehow. Maybe someone can ask him on how we do this for out phone.

Talked to a buddy of mine about this...
There's an app called spare parts that lets you add different animations and transitions to the phone.
He commented that for android 1.5 and maybe 1.6 you could add fancy rotation animations, but for later versions it won't.
It's also not an option in go launcher, though there are tons of other animations.
Maybe this no longer exists in stock android? Maybe HTC had to reinvent the wheel and add lots of custom code to make this happen for their sense UI?

Recently upgraded to blazer 3.3
I've been using a plain black wallpaper so I dont remember if it used to do it or not, but when i use live wallpapers the background will slightly shift over reveiling more of the image. Is it not supposed to do the same for regular wallpapers?

I believe its a feature that doesn't work on Touchwiz launcher starting on the EL13 leak. I think it works on 3rd party launchers still

John is correct. Calkin has fixed this in his rom and is also included in the aio mod.

I haven't flashed yet, main thing I want to know is if this build fixed the scrolling wallpaper issue from el26.

This is just a guess, but I don't think that's a bug. I think they intentionally removed the scrolling wallpaper (that actually happened in EL13) due to the infinitely rotating homescreens in EL26. Might not have figured out how to manage the scrolling wallpaper transition from the edges yet.

I've notice the UI for when people call has changed, the download button when you receive MMS has changed, the phone icon has changed, the wallpapers thing has changed, looping homescreen is very nice. All of these are to probably avoid lawsuits
I am rooted and running the latest version of Calkulin's ROM that is EL26 based, and I have both scrollable wallpaper (using a live one even) and the looping home screens.

Yeah, that's cuz Calk un-did Sammy's changes, he mentions it in his thread. How does the transition from the edges look? Is it just a hard cut off line scrolling over? I'm still on his EL13 build.
I will wait for a UnNamed EL29 rom base but for now Ive been testing new modem.
I'm finding 200-300 kbps data speed increase

I wouldn't think this is so, the og epic does infinite scrolling while having the background pan.
Even does a nice animation once it loops

I've seen a thread on here about scrolling wallpaper being disabled with el29. Somebody posted modified APK, yet it doesn't seem to work, other than it allowing for.different dimensions in resizing. Most custom roms have it working, how do you fix it? I'd like to have stock el29 with wallpaper hack .

To my knowledge only miui doesn't have scrolling wp and thats only with certain themes.

Why would Sprint/Samsung disable scrolling on wallpapers?? That's stupid, now many live wallpapers are ruined since you can't see the whole scene.
I would like to know a good fix as well. Even knowing which roms have it enabled would be nice.
You dont need a custom rom to fix it. Just install a different launcher. I use go launcher ex and everything works great, including scrolling wallpapers.
I'd like to keep the stock launcher.
Also when I upgraded to EL29 the microbes live wallpaper went poof and was gone. Had to google it to get the apk to get it back.
Calk 2.8.1 fixed the scrolling wallpaper issue.
+1 I've tried everything to get the scrolling wallpaper back on stock EL29 without going to a custom ROM. I even pm's Calk to see if he could do a zip for that feature, but no response yet.

I like to use tw 4.5 launcher and even though it is custom, scrolling wallpaper still doesn't seem to work. Getting a custom launcher still doesn't let you properly resize the wallpaper, unless you replace the gallery apk.
I appreciate work by all the devs, but there isn't a rom out there that I like too much. Most of them make visual changes I am not fond of, or brightness settings. I know that both calcs rom and blazer have working scrolling wallpaper and are both on el29.
Am using unnamed now, since it is still very stable and fast. Had to disable updates via terminal emulator to prevent el29 from downloading and notifying me every hour. Problem with that is it also disables profile and prl updates.

Bump, anyone? I really hate that my tw launchers nor none of the gingerbread launchers work. I'm not fond of adw, lp, nor.go.
I flashed the AIO mod and it has working scrolling wallpapers. I think samsung disabled it when they turned on continuous scrolling through homescreens. It looks a little funny w/ some wallpapers to jump from screen 1 to screen 7 backwards.
Edit: make sure you flash the "preflash" zip too or it won't work.

Don't want to be "that guy" that brings an older post back up to the top, but if I'm wanting to stay stock (I just got this phone, I've had several other Android phones in the past and I don't feel like messing around with custom ROMS anymore)... there's no way to make scrolling wallpapers work again?
I use ADW EX and if I use "Wallpaper Set and Save" from the market, I can get static wallpapers to scroll, but that doesn't help with live wallpapers.
This is irritating!

Flash the AIO mod and then flash other packages to make it stock again. I did that and now have scrollable wallpaper on my story k build. The only modification I have is crt off animation.

Thanks for the tip, but you lost me at "Flash..."
Not that I don't know how, because I do... but I've had a Moto Cliq, Nexus One, EVO 4G, Epic 4G, Nexus S 4G... now this E4GT... my flashing days are done, I'm just tired of the hassle.
For all who are still using unNamed rom. Still super stable and has not seen any updates.
My theme consists of all the good stuff pulled from other devs! Credit goes to overstew for most of his images and I believe the battery is from icsdomination. And most of all thanks to playya for helping me and I originally used his theme as a base to work off of.
Just wipe cache/dalvik and flash like you would any other theme

something weird just happened, the screen was upside down and the text inverted, a reboot fixed it, i dont have time to research it now, just mentioning it
i do love the new icons, and theme for mms, gmail, and email. i actually flashed a stock dialer that player made for me a while back

Yea I was diagnosis.g that problem last nite. Are you running a battery saver script or under volting? Crt animation off does not like under volting. As soon as I put stock under volt that problem does not happen

Also if there is no under volting involved and problem persists. Might have to flash playyas framework rotation fix. Easy.
Which launcher are you running? Touchwiz or third party?
Edit....I'm running calks latest battery saver script with the new first 5 seconds is Max CPU speed and stock undervolt....

OK if problem still persists. Let me know. I'm trying to make a non Crt version of my theme. That will solve the problem. Also....do you want a no clock version or do you like with clock in the upper right?

i do like the clock, if i could change one other thing it would be to use nothing but honeys blue bee for showing when usb was connected, also the notification for email, gmail, and text all seem to be the same
