Just got it today, put it on my phone, dust under screen but not very noticeable, cannot be unseen! (AND WE RAN OUT OF TAPE AT HOME!)
And there is more resistance in comparison to the naked screen, feels bad man.

nice! what's the difference between the oleophobic and the crystal clear?
i've had both on my Vibrant and i preferred the Crystal, but NOTHING beats the naked feel of gorilla glass under the finger.
you just wont find anything as slick.
The crystal is a close second.

The crystal is a little thicker and its supposed to be more clear. But the ultra oleophobic is also very clear so it shouldn't he a huge problem, and I also like the thinner one so its less noticeable

the oleophobic is basically done to simulate the iPhone 4's screen.... which is a Gorilla Glass screen with an oleophobic coating. Basically an anti-germ coating.
i had the oleophobic on my iPhone 4 and loved it. Great product, I was going to get another one for the Atrix but decided to just get the Otterbox and hope I dont scratch the screen.
I'm using the ultra crystal and I love it. I tried the oleo on iphone before and it's good also, but at first it isn't smooth unless you wipe it a lot. It's supposed to be easier to wipe off fingerprints. I don't see a big difference as I wipe my phone often.

*off topic*
They should cross reference iphone sales, germphobes, and Starbucks sales. I'm sure there's an interesting correlation
Oleophobic means it won't pick up oils from your skin and fingers leaving shiny spots on the screen. Has nothing at all to do with "germs".

actually the Atrix's Gorilla Glass also has the oleophobic coating as well.

Yup, i was just about to say the same thing. And if i'm not mistaken, the gorilla glass on the iphone does not have a coating of oleophobic layer on it, or if there is any, it's very minimum compared to what is on the Atrix. It's been confirmed by my friends who uses the iphones.

On that last bit.... i'm not sure you should trust your friend's input into the subject, since if they're using an iPhone 4, they clearly have no clue what they hold in their hands besides that it can play music, make calls, catapult random birds into random blocks in an attempt to make random pigs go *poof*, has two glass panels, and is accepted by sheep around the globe.
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/ten-things-you-didnt-know-about-iphone-4/
read point #3. And apparently it was also on the 3GS... which i didn't remember until i saw the post on Gizmodo about it while searching for Oleophobic.... And it's obvious how sheep-like people are towards an iPhone when a simple Google search for Oleophobic brings up a wiki article relating to such effects, and that very Gizmodo article on the Oleophobic coating on the iPhone 3GS's screen. Not like... a dictionary definition.... or a general discussion on Oleophobic materials.... Nope.... the iPhone.
As for the anti-germ bit i mentioned.... my bad. I knew it reduced fingerprints, or the appearance of them... and i don't know if i either read somewhere that said it also helps with germs, or i just assumed less oils from fingers = less possible germs.... but yea... my bad.
i'm thinking of buying the crystal clear ones :x .. anyone try a bunch of different screen protectors and have a good opinion on sgps?
I've tried PhantomSkinz and so far it's been my favorite (at least for the captivate).
I got skinomis on my Atrix right now just to try it and the screen protector looks so dented which also doesn't heal (false advertising!!)
Now I'm debating on getting those SGPs or stick with Phantomskinz any opinions?

I had Ghost Armor and I didn't like it as the screen looked terrible. Went to the SGP Oleophobic about 6 weeks ago and I love it. No scratches at all. Super clear; you have to really look to even find the edges. Put on with no bubbles at all (2nd try; 1st was a bust). Only thing is if you clean the screen swype feels weird (slight resistance) until you use the phone for awhile.

The Xooms display is absolutely terrible in sunlight or anywhere bright, its nearly unusable. I don't know why these companies don't use anti-glare screens or oleophobic coating at the least. Are there any anti-glare screen protectors out there for the xoom?

There are threads on this already but I bought the Invisibleshield from Zagg. It did wonders on my phone so I am sure it will be great on the Xoom as well for glare and fingerprints. You might also want to turn off auto-brightness and manually adjust it.
I bought one from screenguardz:
ScreenGuardz for Motorola Xoom
Please search youtube. It seems to me, it is good non-sticky solution, easy to apply.
You can find 10% coupon for this.
I've ordered the Anti-Glare screen from Boxwave. I've always liked their protectors. Will report back here when I get it and try it out.

You don't want to post pics because you will still see the glare lol. I got the zagg shield the first day I got the xoom. It keeps the finger prints off but they don't call it an invisible shield for nothing. The glare is still the same. Any improvement is barely noticable. Here is a picture taken with my cell phone. It would be no different no matter what the camera is taking the picture.

Honestly though I would rather use a screen protector that actually can protect the screen and not just reduce the glare. The zagg shield also comes with a lifetime warranty.
Weird, why no mention of the SGP Steinheil Ultra Fine?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=985885&highlight=sgp
Many of us who used the Ultra Fine are very satisfied in the reduction of glare, resistance to fingerprints and clarity despite being matte.
http://www.sgpstore.com/tablets/mot...-screen-protector-steinheil-ultra-series.html
Just got and installed the Boxwave ClearTouch Anti-Glare. I've used a dozen of these things over the years so I have a lot of practice installing them correctly... just never on a 10.1 inch screen, so I was worried about lint and bubbles.
Cleaning the screen and prepping my work space took about ten minutes. I put little tabs of clear tape on the corners to help move the screen protector without touching the adhesive. Starting on the edge with the camera I stuck about a half inch of the adhesive down and pulled the backing out from under it while pressing down the sticky part.
Got a couple of bubbles that I pushed out to the edge easily and now the thing looks almost perfect. Now I have to get used to the slight blur it adds to the screen, which should be easy if the ones I have used on my phones, palms and iPods are any indication.

And hard as hell to put on. I ended up removing mine because it messed it up when applying. I didn't have bubbles. It was just because it was ruining the screen. The screen looked terrible, because of how many times I removed it I guess.

I've tried this on a phone and while it made the process a lot easier by settling any dust in the air I also set off the water damage indicator on my phone and battery.. brand new phone and my warranty was void. I dont have a Xoom yet but I am going to assume they have a similar indicator hidden somewhere.

SGP Steinheil Ultra Fine is great and actually make the xoom usable in direct sunlight.
I use it on the train every day and no longer have problems with sunshine coming in from the windows. The difference is huge and it also does a great job with keeping fingerprints off the screen.
For installation I really recommend using a can of compressed air.

Where did you buy this case?
As i have now tried 3 different screen protectors i can say this:
ZAGG/KINGFISH: both sold by car phone warehouse are no good.
Zagg is a flimsy piece of skin which once fitted is not even smooth. Your finger will not slide on the screen and it makes the view on the screen quite poor as well.
Kingfish is a Matt type screen. Its smooth but also covers the front camera and goes beyond the beveled edge of the phone making it easy to collect dust. Viewing is not very good and i suspect covering the sensors won't do any good either
Positive: Protex
Sold by phones4u and online. Cheap when compared with the above and easy to fit. (I always use droplets of water to fit as it eliminates dirt and little dust fibres to the minimum)
Easy to slide the finger on, does not cover the sensors or cameras.
Rock screen protector: similar to protex, a bit wider and same quality. Highly recommended to the point that i have cancelled the original protectors that Samsung will bring out later in the month.
Overall if you want something that will be good and not disrupt the feel and view, the 2 above ones are ideal. I'm sure there will be other more or less expensive but i won't be testing any new ones.

Are Protex and Rock wet or dry protectors? Do they stretch to the edges of the phone? Or are the edges exposed?
The eyes are slightly exposed about 2mm.
They are not soft protectors and that makes them very good. No glare or other issues. Zagg is a soft one and the most problematic one.
When you say wet or dry i suspect you mean needing to use spray water to apply. Both rock and protex do not need water to apply but using it makes it much easier to apply

Wet application screen protectors
I originally got a dry application screen protector (the ones with the sticky stuff) as an interim measure. After a few days it did start peeling up slightly on the edges as the screen is curved on the edges. I then ordered an XtremeGuard protector (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/23080181...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3744wt_1396) which is a wet application one. It has been sooooo good. Since it is wet application it is alot more flexible and can hence handle the curved edges. Also the XtremeGuard protectors don't suffer from the 'lemon-peel' effect of other wet application screen protectors.
Not saying anything bad against other screen protectors, more just sharing my experience with some screen protectors.
Gear4 Case vs. Case-mate
Hi,
Your Gear4 case looks very nice and pricing is reasonable.
Do you have any experience with the Case-mate barely there cases and how it compares to your Gear4 case?
Thanks
Hi guys !
I received the shipment today and did a little review for you.
I'll start with the fact that I don't like any screen protectors, and any phone cases.
But sometimes these things are necessary for us. (example: while on beach, I always scratched all my phones)
I also got very intrigued by the word "NANO"
In the package you will find:
- 3 screen protectors. (Thank you for that SGP)
- cloth (to clear the screen)
- 4 stickers, for dust removal . (by the way it helped me)
- plastic scoop (to align the surface)
- serial number (to verify the authenticity of the product)
- spam

What I liked:
-easy to install.
-almost not visible on phone. (which is true guys)
-does not interfere with the reflection (important for me)
-0% distortion of the quality of the screen
-good protection.
What don't liked
- Feeling that Protector will come off from the edges very soon.
May be due to the fact that I improperly installed in the middle of the screen (I confirm that the film was based on the screen incorrectly, I redid the work, everything is perfect now !!!!!
- easy to put fingerprints (My niece helped me to verify this)
You will tell me what about protection from scratches?
No problem let me show you something
- film is easily deforming(will be seen even a trace of nail hands)
I'm not talking about real scratches as these
honestly say I was scared that scratched own phone , But after removing the film, I realized the fact that SGP Ultra NANO clear protector not only doesn't spoil the image quality (which is completely perfect), but also provides good protection.
Best Regards.
AvetNY.
Thanks purchased this today, cant wait to get it now
As long as protection and screen image quality is solid, then I'm in

I am just a little bit sceptical, they reduced the size of it to prevent having bubles on the edges due to the curved glass on the s3, I have a similar screen priotector and the smaller size does get on my nerves as it tends to get lifted up and makes you notice the uneven edge on the face of the phone.
I think ill go for the other version with the full covering
I just got the order today and I'm worried about protection. This screen protector is extremely thin... almost like cellophane you find on cigarette packs. I ran a knife against it and blade went through easily. I wish they could have kept the thickness same as ultra crystal. I kind of prefer ultra crystal film even though edges were bubbling up a little. It wasn't very noticeable to me at least. I always been a huge fan of SGP but Galaxy S3 screen protector are huge disappointment, including flex hd (rainbow effects that won't go away).
I so want glas.t for S3

Packaging:
Not just thrown haphazardly into an envelope and sent out, the screen protectors (you get two in each package) are enclosed in a thin, sealed, very low profile, textured plastic container/envelope. One side of the container is perforated and has a tab you're supposed to pull to open it up....I pulled it and the damn tab just ripped off. Ended up getting an envelope opener to open it up. Once inside you'll find the protectors, both inside their own plastic sleeve, a cleaning kit inside a plastic sleeve and a cleaning cloth, also inside a plastic sleeve, as well as an installation instruction sheet, printed on a thin plastic "page".
Impression:
Wow! From the quality packaging to the cleaning kit, to how the items were packaged inside the "envelope", the impression here was quality. I felt like I had paid a premium price for a premium product when in reality I only paid about $6.50 per protector and all the other goodies it came with.
Installation:
I'm sure you're all well aware how to install a dry application screen protector so I'll spare you the obvious. I will say that I was able to lay it in place with just 2 small bubbles, and they were easily remedied by rubbing on it with the microfiber cloth, no squeegee needed. The cuts are precision and spot on, no jagged edges or not-quite-straight cuts here. The only cut outs are for the home button and the earpiece speaker, all the sensors are covered. When installed properly, the protector is flush with the top edge of the earpiece speaker and the bottom of the home button and ever-so-slightly wider than the screen itself. The rest of the face of the phone, above, below and to the sides of the areas described above are left uncovered. Can't say I really care for that, but I knew that going in. However, the clarity, lack of rainbow effects and smoothness of the protector is letting me overlook those things. This thing is absolutely gorgeous! If you were the cover the outer edges of the protector there is now way you'd be able to tell one was even installed. It's perfectly smooth as glass!
Final thoughts:
While i'm not exactly thrilled with the fact that the protector doesn't cover the whole face, the impressive clarity and fact that it doesn't take away from the beauty or clarity of the display makes that acceptable. The screen has a little "grab" to it immediately after install, even after cleaning it with the included alcohol wipe, but I imagine it'll be smooth as the naked screen after a little use. The outer edges of the protector don't look like they're adhered very well but I've rubbed on them as much as I could and no progress. If I could get the edges to lay down and adhere nicely as everywhere else, this would be perfect. But because of that I can only rate this a 3.5 out of 5....it's an eye catcher and possibly a dust magnet and takes away from what otherwise is a very nice product.
No problem recommending it, but if perfection is what you want, look elsewhere.
Glad to see someone else likes Realook.

They make a great product, don't know why they don't get the pub SPG gets.

Its only been on a couple hours now and already it feels like the naked screen. My only gripe, the edges....grrrrr
via Galaxy S III
I got mine in today. Installation was fairly easy (no more difficult than any other dry application). I'm very impressed with the clarity! I used the Zagg HD and Skinomi since getting my GS3. After installing the Realook, I'm simply astounded by how good the screen looks! I guess the only down-side is that it's not a "self-healing" type of material like the others. The package says it's scratch resistant with a 3H hard coating. Gorilla Glass, for comparison, is a 9. I expect that it will eventually get scratched up, but the package comes with 2 and it's not that expensive. Personally, I'd rather by more screen protectors every few months to keep the clarity than settle for the self-healing ones that will stay on forever.
have this on my DX, very clear protector.

Agreed. I'm loving it so far

Well, sad to say but the REALook has to go
Clarity is wonderful, feel is that of the naked screen, but its not sealing around the edges at all and is clearly lifted. It looks tacky, will attract dust and just isnt cutting it for me. I'm gonna give the Moshi iVisor a chance before I go back to wet application options.
Such a shame cause this protector looks and feels great otherwise

used realook for the vibrant n s2. Love realook but I currently have the spg ultra nano. It's clarity is just as good if not better then realook but they fixed curve screen issue.Try it.

I have to second the ultra nano. It doesn't look like anything is on the screen. My only question is whether it protects as well as the 'self healing' protectors?

+1 on the ultra nano, no fingerprints at all and SGP is great to deal with

Any tips on installation to avoid getting fingerprints on the backside of that thing?

Yeah, just like when handling PCB boards, only touch the edges of the unstuck side (if you have to).
Mine is doing the same thing, fine on the sides and peeling up at the top and bottom. Using it with an otterbox commuter.

I would spend the money on the spigen glas.t but according to this forum it has been discontinued:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929381
I didn't read the full thing, i just googled it. But i will say this, I dropped my iPad 3 face down(glass down) on concrete and it protected it. It fell about 4 feet and came out without any damage whatsoever.

I swear by ZAGG. If you watch the demo video then it should sell you too. Yes its a little more expensive than the 3 dollar scotch tape cover you can get at the grocery store, but you spent a lot of money on the phone with its sharp screen, I figure its worth it. I had the ZAGG cover on my Thunderbolt and it worked great. I liked it so much I have one on my GS3.
DBA Cases sells a screen protector called "Just Like Glass". I just bought one for me and my mom. I must say the feel is great, almost "like glass" and the screen doesn't diminish in quality one bit. It is a wet application. The sides on mine don't want to stick down all the way. The instructions said this would happen and after a few days it will stick. I've only had it applied a couple days so I'm still crossing my fingers. They are only $13.50. I would definitely recommend one. http://www.dbacases.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-screen-protectors.aspx
I highly suggest glasszone. No proximity problems, no response problems. 9H hardness, I've dropped it twice from waist height on concrete floor and it's not scratched, though I'm not 100% if the initial impact was with ground. The only thing I have against it is the (barely) visible layer of glitter on the edges, or what the manufacturer calls "pearl effect". I barely notice it, and it's only really visible under a few instances. You can find it on ebay
iMuse glass protector could be a good solution:

Do all the tempered glass protectors make the screen look odd, or are some better and more "HD" than others? I read the thread about the xgear one and it sounds like it distorts the screen.

Yes it definitely disturbs. That's why the sticker type protector is somehow a better choice, but if you have a sturdy case protector to begin with you don't need a screen protector, that gorilla glass will serve it purposes.

I dont that will be a good choice because those tiny holes for the proximity sensor are sure to cause you problems

Yes the Spigen is discontinued but Seidio has its Vitreo which I feel is a little better that Spigens Glas... I have had both and like the Vitreo better just slightly and also comes in black and white

I ordered mine from Bestskinsever. Quality is like Zagg Invisible Shield for about 1/4 of the price.
I don't like the Zagg ones, its very clear when you're using them that you have a screen protector on. I have the DBA Just Like Glass mentioned above. I like it for the most part. The screen protector has gotten very scratched up but the screen is safe and sound. Worst bit about it is that the edges dont look properly adhered. They havent peeled up for me but they look like they arent stuck on as well as the rest of the protector
I just ordered my spigen ultra nano clear will report back

Do NOT buy*
SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Premium Glass Screen Protector White
Glass looks and feels great.
HOWEVER
Must be used with a raised home button and case on the edges.
Sensitivity was severely compromised.
You wouldn't notice on regular use, but as soon as you got typing. I became very frustrated. Ruined texting all together.
Even swype was some garbage.
40$ well wasted.

I've been using a Qmadix tempered tech armor and it does need a raised sticker and only comes with three. It works great though and I haven't lost any use. I bought mine in white from a sprint store and my only complaint is the dust that gets stuck on the glue like edges underneath. I can post pictures of the box and the glass screen protector if requested my camera just isn't connecting on the cm10.1 nightlie I have haha

I don't trust Gorilla glass at all, seen so many phones scratched that have it and it does nothing for impacts.
