Hi folks,
I've got a brand new class 10 sd card and would like to move to it from my old class 2 sd card. Unfortunately I'm currently using a ROM with the A2SD feature which means Titanium Backup and ROM Manager reside on the old and slow sd card. If I insert the new sd card into my Desire I therefore have no access to ROM Manager which prevents me from installing the new ROM. Also I cannot access the Market for the same reason.
So the question is: How can I move to the new sd card? The only solution I can imagine is to flash a rooted stock ROM and the flash my favorite ROM again. I wonder if there's an easier option...
Please let me know. Any help is appreciated.

LOL. You are using ROM manager to flash your ROMs?
What about the custom recovery you have? CMW/AmonRA.
Also you can move everything to the new card and restore everything after you've flashed the ROM.

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding the migration of data and apps from an old (stock 4gb) SD card to a new one while running APP2SD on the desire.
I'm using Pays 1.9 BraveSoul ROM at the moment with APP2SD installed and working sweet on a device-partitioned ext2.
my new 16gb class 6 card has arrived and I want to transfer all my apps and data from one to another without losing anything (I don't mind re-installing though).
I can back up my apps with Titanium and I have been doing that successfully for non-APP2SD ROMs. However, I'm not sure how to copy the ext2 partition to my new card and how the desire will react.
I found this method in my searches and I was wondering if anyone can confirm it is suitable for the rooted desire?
"I did an a2sd swap yesterday.
Did a nandroid/ext backup.
Copied card to computer.
Powered off phone.
Switched cards.
Partitioned new card.
Copied back from computer to SD card
Restored nandroid
Worked like a champ."

Also, I'm not using linux, I do my partitioning from the device in recovery.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Paul.

Update:
Looks like the desire is not liking the nandroid+ext backup.
I think I will have to do a full titanium backup and re-flash to get my APP2SD on the new card...
You can back up all your apps using Titanium Backup, format the new SD card in recovery, boot up, install Titanium, and restore your apps using that.
Hi guys.
I just bought a new Micro SD Card Class 6 for my desire and i want to replace my old sd card with the new one.
Based on Leedroid FAQ, before i could replace the sd card, i have to reformat the new one and create partition through rom manager.
The problem is, after i put my new sd card to my phone, i couldn't access android market for unknown reason therefore i couldn't install rom manager. How to fix this problem? Is there another way to create partition on new sd card so i can restore my nandroid backup?
If you get Download starting... and nothing else, log in to gmail/gtalk and change your status. Weird, but it helps.

Desire rooted, running LeeDroid 2.1 something with A2SD+.
OK I have looked at a few other threads but I still have some questions.
I am finally upgrading my stock SD card to a 16GB card.
I know I need to format the new SD card before trying to use it in LeeDroid. I have Ubuntu installed on a laptop so I can format it from there. Can I then just copy all the contents from the old SD over to the new SD?? What about the data in the ext3? Will this copy over too?
Once the new SD is installed I want to upgrade to the lastest version of LeeDroid. I've only installed one ROM (the one currently running) so I don't know how to back my phone up so it can be easily restored once the new ROM is running... I mean all the apps, personal data etc.
I have mybackup pro(paid) and titanium backup pro(paid)...

Don't have to follow the steps to make a ext partition with rom manager when you have a linux machine.
Hello all, wondering whether anyone can help. My 2.2 rooted Desire currenly has ~11MB of free space. I have just bought an 8GB micro SD card from play.com and put it into the phone.
Just wondering must install all apps to phone memory first and then move to SD card or is it possible to directly install to SD card. Which prog is best and easiest to move apps to sd card.
Thanks
Easiest to root and install custom rom which supports a2sd.
With this you aiming at apps need to have in code optimisations in order to be transfered to the SD card, and then would be using FAT32 partition - that you don't want since some apps need to be started together with the OS, and will fail to do so then since OS first loads apps and second mounts FAT partition.
Long story short - root - custom rom - Leedroid ftw
Thanks for the prompt reply. I have the modaco 2.2 stock rom. So what app would you recommened.
I just re-read your post, so you would suggest leedroid rom rathern than stock rom with app 2 sd app...?
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would be as kind to help me with a problem I am having with my phone or at least point me in the right direction. I currently have a rooted EVO 4G. Its one of the first generation EVO's and its been rooted from Android version 2.2. I have never had a problem with using any Roms before, but I recently lost my original SD card, (The card I initially used to root my phone) and for some reason unknown to me, the alternate card that I now use, does not allow me to install new Roms. In fact, every time I try to install a Rom with this alternate card, the instalation gets aborted, the exact quotes are:
E:can't open /sdcard/MIUI.us_supersonic_1.12.2_Eng_Deo_zipA_signed_naro k.zip(bad)
Installation aborted.
The thing is, when I had my original card (8GB), if I wanted to use my alternate card (32GB) I would flash a Rom using the original card, and after flashing, use the 32GB card for the storage space. So I am assuming this it is not really a phone problem, just maybe something that I need to do or download to my alternate SD card (32GB).
One more thing, I was recently able to install a HTC EVO Sense Rom using the alternate card (32GB) Unfortunately, I am not able to install any ASOP Roms on this card.
Thank You in advance.
Did you try formatting the sd card? Also, it's possible the card is just bad too.

When I first purchased the card, I initially partitioned the card using Rom Manger, but I don't think that I have specifically formatted the card. Is there a formatting instruction page that you can point me to, or do you have instructions of how I should go about formatting my SD Card?
You can either format the SD card while in recovery or when on windows. Just format it then throw roms back on the SD card then wipe wipe wipe and flash away.
