I just rooted my new T989. Now for a good custom rom or two. I'm not asking what is the best custom rom out but rather:
1. What are some of the most popular custom roms out and why are they popular.
2. What are some good ones that are faster (yet stable) than stock, which ones have better camera quality (I think the vibrant camera is better without flash), and which are overclockable but stable?
Thanks!
Edit: Sorry I'm a super noob. I tried searching yet I don't know how to find the info I'm looking for. I accidentally posted this in the wrong section. Would the correct section be the Q and A?
Remember this is not a flame thread. I'm not asking what is the best rom. But rather what are some of the most popular (popular doesn't mean best) ones that people talk about the most. A good 3-5 would suffice.
Should of read the dev section or use the search. Be prepared for the flaming to begin unil this thread is closed.
P.S. JUGGERNAUT 5.0

Is this a joke? You posted this in the DEVELOPMENT SECTION. Instead of creating a new thread, how about reading through other threads that were in the same section you posted this in?

This is why I hate this section. One person needs to flame or at least guide in the right direction. Instead everyone that owns this device has to flame. That's what mods are for. Go flash something!!!!!

Why exactly did you post this thread in the DEV section and NOT either Q&A or GENERAL?
PS You could have the used the search bar instead of creating a useless thread

You'll learn people are not very nice. I posted in the wrong thread yesterday like a moreon. It happens the best of us. Mod will fix it.
I consider http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455292 to be the best most stable full functioning rom. But read the threads flash around and find your own favorite
That link is for blu ray

Malice and Beastmod are over on the rootzwiki site.

Seriously people...the guys is new to using the amazing forums here! Some of you joined 2 months ago and you never once posted a useless thread or asked an already answered question? Give him a break, he admitted his fault so instead of criticizing and shaming why not help and just point in the right direction?
I have been slammed by you guys before and the only reason I put up with the"I am better than you attitudes"is because the majority of users aren't always looking to find fault or ridicule others who are seeking knowledge from experienced users.
So let's try to be a little nicer to noobs looking for guidance especially when they admit their mistake in the op!

I am not saying bash the OP but you shouldn't be telling anyone how to act since you apparently didn't read the whole thread. The 2 posts you quoted were made before the OP admitted his mistake. They are the reason why he admitted his mistake. If you look at the OP you will see that it was edited 20 minutes or so after it was originally posted, after his mistake was brought to his attention. I am not saying it was brought to his attention in a very helpful manner.
If you want to see the most popular, you can sort by views on the Development forum. But the MOST popular is Juggernaut 5.0.
Remember learn to survive n this forum, theres lot of people who think they r better than others, dont have a life and the only entertaiment is to flame people post! For those flamers.....I know you have a pathetic life because of that... GET A LIfE!

Yes, in before the lock I moved the thread. I have to say it's encouraging to see so many trying to help instead of just flaming. However, best ROM or similar threads never last, nevermind those posted in Development. To the OP, learn to use search, read, study, and try things on for size.

No one is going to hold your hand here or any other place.
It looks like you actually do know a bit more than you are letting on, so why not spend a couple hours here,
do some exploration and I can guarantee that all four of your questions will be answered in great detail.
P.S. you might start off by reading the forum rules...

I understand. I am just confused as to where exactly to look/ or what to look at. There is a lot of people that use technical stuff or abbreviation here that I have no idea what it means. Also there is threads where I am confused as to if something will work on my phone or not. Hence my question for the 4.1.2 version because most I saw was done for 4.1.1.
Lazy as hell ,read on.

Hey guys, so I've searched in q&a, general, and development and can't find a thread for this. my upgrade date is august, and I'm pretty sure I'm going with a note, either 2 or 3, so as a last hoorah with my gnex I'm going to root and flash a rom. i've done this to many devices before, but I'm wondering which rom is best, as far as liquid smoothness and speed are concerened. I cna't find a thread descussing this. Also, if you have a rom that you perfer, for whatever reasons, I'd love to hear it! Thanks in advance.

you know why you cant find a thread about a "best rom"?
1) you're terrible at search. there's a ton of them that are locked
2) they're locked cause they're not allowed.
3) go try some with features you want in the development thread for your device.
"Best ROM" threads are not allowed and are usually closed by mods. Although there is one that has slipped through the cracks and is still going surprisingly.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636471
Read through that and see what people are saying. But basically, all ROMs are going to be pretty much the same.
Thread closed as its a Best ROM thread.
Hi guys, so I just got an S3 i747 AT&T coming from iPhone 4s.
I already have it rooted and would like to load a room as close to stock as possible. I really liked the Moto X however, the camera was terrible... I would like to get that experience..
What's most important to me is battery life. I would like to get the most batteyr life possible. Can someone recommend a rom? I was thinking one of the Cyanogenmod ROMs. I thought that 10.2 version is the stable one but it seems that only 10.1 is stable? Would appreciate some advice.
This should be in the Q&A section.
New ROM suggestion threads tend to get closed very quickly around here by the moderators, as there have been entirely too many that often turn into "what's the best ROM, or just pit one ROM against another.
You should always look in the development section, as there are plenty of ROMs there that you might like. Also, every phone is different, so what might work great on one phone might not work the same on yours. You have plenty of Roms in the development section that you can try, so that you can determine whats the best ROM for you. Just read up on them before flashing and follow their directions, and you should be OK.

Thanks so much. I didn't realize this was against the forum rules...
There are so many roms there! I was just asking in terms of battery life or which one you would suggest for someone coming from an iPhone platform.

Android is definitely not iPhone. As far as best battery life refer to the advice given. Try various ROMs that look appealing to you until you find one that is acceptable on your terms.

Quantum ROM would be the best for your battery buddy.
Well, as previously stated, users are expected to do their own research and make their own determination as to what rom is best for them.
All the roms here are the best, try them all.

Hi guys, i'm an old time SSD owner, had like 5 SSD's till now. With 4.3 Android bring fstrim, what i would like to know is how exactly does it work, and when does it occur?
Is it better option to use lagfix/fstrim in order to insure best performance? does clearing cache have any impact on my N7 2013 performance? sorry android/mobile noob here, more of an desktop guy. I know to tweak my desktop to max in order to get the best performance but i don't know how to do the same for my tablet, its not really consistent. sometimes its very fast, sometimes commands take like + 200ms in order to start, i know this is not huge difference but its noticeable. I want to try all optimizations/tweaks before i conclude that its Android/tablet specific problem.
Any performance tweaks recommendations would be nice
Well, you will have better luck in the Q&A section. If it isn't development related (you didn't make something) then it doesn't belong in development. Best to report your thread and ask it to be moved

Considering all the responses......it sounds like its time to do your own google research mission at this point.
Then report back and let us know
Or better yet, ask in a topic discussing the topic
2 second google search netted this

A GREAT READ for you http://www.anandtech.com/show/7185/android-43-update-brings-trim-to-all-nexus-devices
Google does wonders, links above may not answer your exact question but in those threads, YOU have a way better chance of getting it answered if you ask there at this point.
Again..... that was literally a few second google search. Instead of bumping a thread often, maybe a little leg work will work better for you in the future
Thanks man! that doesn't answer the question i was looking for. So instead of searching for the exact answer, just to make sure i will be using Fstrim/lagfix, no harm using that app right?
Thanks again.
