[Q] Bluetooth issue SRF 1.0.2 Malanga - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Having an issue with bluetooth connecting. Bluetooth pairs to the device but will not connect. Obviously lost pairs after root. Wireless/Wired tethering works. Wireless works. Still going through the threads, no luck seeing anything that pertains...
Epic 4G EB13 Ext4
SRF1.0.2 nCIQ/Voodoo Sound
Twilight Zone 1.0.4
Switched to Bonzai4all4.0.0 . Bluetooth back and connecting.
EC05 Kernel 2.6.32.9

you most likely have stale or corrupted files and also you need to wait for the latest upgrade from them with ec05 base whereas bluetooth works amazingly on on ec05, but make sure you backup in titanium and wipe data/cache and dalvik cache.
But its a known issue in eb13 so i would just wait for there latest release..
Bonsai 4.0.0 runs great and bluetooth is flawless

Thanx dr...
I had also tried Bonzai but kept getting reboots. SRF has been only stable Rom I can get to work.
Okay just flashed EC05 with Odin, no change in bluetooth.. pairs won't connect

[Q] 4.02 to 4.03 Lucky or Did I Fix Permissions?

I went from ViperROM [Apocalypse] EXT4-RFS Dual DK28 4.0.2c to
[ROM]VIPERrom [FRoZeN] EXT4-RFS Dual DK28 4.0.3 and have it working without Odin. First time loaded the rom it hung and rebooted. Wanted to go back to 4.02c. Installed 4.02c no wipes (because of script). I thought I would try frozen one more time. Then did all wipes and used the fixed permission option..then installed Frozen and worked after that. Did I get lucky or did the fix permissions do anything? Note I am running DK28 RFS. Just wanted to share in case this is a potential work around that is actually pretty simple did with no computer from my couch while watching TV. ROM is as usual AMAZING!

[Q] Wifi/GPS doesn't work in any custom rom

When I rooted my Epic 4g installed a custom rom my wifi and gps would stop working. I installed the modem and I was using dx28.
I also tried rooting my brothers epic 4g to see that its not just not my phone and I came across similar results. I followed the forums step by step.
I got so fed up that I returned the phone to stock forum, however I am getting a little impatient on Samsung to bring 2.2 because 2.3 is already out and 3.0 is coming pretty soon it seems.
The Roms I tried were, Nebula ROM, ViperRom, Bonsai, SyndicateROM, Supernova..
Even using just the stock 2.2 froyo leak I still have the same problem. Am I doing something wrong here?
Even if you flashed everything correctly, this is caused by the modem. Start from scratch. DI18, DK28 Modem, whatever instructions you were given.
I had the same problem with my GPS..
To get mine working.. I flashed to stock DI18 then Flashed the modem separately (DK28 moden only) then Flashed to Full DK28.. then custom ROM
This was helpful as well...

thirdly.. try clearing the GPS cache wtih GPSTest (found in Market)
I had to odin the DI18 then flash the DK28 update.zip to get mine to work correctly.

no bluetooth

i cant turn on bluetooht it thinks and then doesnt start.
i had been running CM7 rc1 when i noticed so i nandroided back to villain rom 0.9 where it also didnt work, i flashed starburst rom still no bluetooth
tried flashing different kernels from the villain rom i had. -- no luck,
then realised that its down to radios so i tried reflashing the latest radio and RIL, still no bluetooth.
i have now flash a radio which is a few older but still no bluetooth.
could this be to do with the data2ext which i have recently started using?
anyone know how to rectify this?

[Q] ViperROM with EB13 modem?

So guys, I've done some searching and haven't found an exact answer to this question. I used the Samsung software to flash EB13 to my phone, so it's all stock as of right now.
Is it possible to use ViperROM with the EB13 modem installed from my current setup or would I have to ODIN DK28 and then OneClick CWM3/ViperROM?
Thanks!
as of right now
As of right NOW with THIS release i do not believe it will work. I am about 99 percent positive. But if i were u i would go on the viper chat and ask. THAts what they are there for.
Not sure about viper rom, but i have the eb13 modem
with the dk28 2.0.1 bonsai rom and works perfectly.
So i assume it should work on all older roms.
I'll give it a shot. If it breaks, well then I'll re-flash.
Im running viper on eb13 and its been workin better than dk28

Running DK28 Quantum 2.7 with EB13 modem. No problems here...I just couldn't live without the video camera working correctly.
ViperROM isn't built for EB13, so even if its flashable, there might be some bugs. I'm running midNIGHT ROM (EB13 version) with the Genocide EB13 EXT kernel and it runs great.
I've yet to run across any bugs

i have eb13 with cwm3 viper trinty and the new 1.2 kernal works great only problem is gps navigation it cant get direction it keeps searching & browser sort of lags but other than that its good
Running ViperRom with EB13 as well...no problems here. No force closes or anything. It's not scoring quite as high in linpack and other benchmarking apps as it was in DK28, but still quite high.

Wifi problems

I have started having a wifi problem. Everything looks to be connected and working properly (ie. status shows wifi, wifi settings show connected to my router with IP address), but I can't access the internet. If I toggle airplane mode, it will work. It will work fine, but will stop working again after asleep for some unknown time. I am currently running EL26 modem with Calkulin ROM 2.7 with the original kernel. I suspect the modem. I can't pinpoint when the problem started, but I think it was after I started flashing modems from my OTA EK02. I have restored ROMs that I know worked and now have the same problem. I have reflashed EK02, EL13, and EL26 to no avail. I restored to my current setup and did factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik. no good. I would prefer to avoid, but next step is to go back to EK02 OTA and start over slowly and proceed forward. Any ideas?
Edit:
I have corrected my problem, but have no idea what the problem was. I odined back to EG30. I was prompted for the OTA and took it. I did one root and installed EK02 stock+CWM. Installed a couple of my key apps and backed up. Rebuilt my system a couple apps at a time. Got everything working in this stock as possible environment. Once I confirmed no problems including wifi, I backed up again. I then restored my Calk 2.7 rom. I have been running with no problems for a couple days. My conclusion is a bad modem flash. I flashed modems from Calkulin's and qbking's threads. I am leery of flashing modems, but at least I have a pretty easy way back. Before I forge forward, I am going to delete all my modem zips. What is the best source for modem zips?
