this guy on ebay claims to have oem evo batteries for 10 bucks each. real deal or scam?

It could be OEM, since it does have an HTC logo on it. But I don't think it is made specifically for the Evo since it is black and not red.

bought the dock from wireless for the same price as the dude from ebay thats in hong kong. cali to ny would be faster than hong kong to ny. im not very patient lol

Not sure about this $10 OEM, but there are various HTC OEM batteries floating around on ebay for other HTC phones that are identical to Evo battery.

I just go to the sprint store that has techs and ask if they have a battery or two lying around. I have 4 spare red batteries plus I gave one to a co worker and one to my girl friend.

how do i figure out which sprint store has techs? and how much did they charge you for them?

Well, hopefully I didn't just get jacked. I never used eBay before. Just ordered a red 'HTC oem battery for Evo' for 20$. If its quality, I don't mind 20$. But previous post did make me realize I've been able to get extra batts for free at sprint on previous phones. Just kinda forgot. ****, shoulda tried that first.

I got my batteries a couple of days ago and they have been perfect!!! I can't tell the difference from the stock one (except that their black of course). I haven't charged my Evo in 3 days, all I charge are the batteries and swap. Normally leave my house everyday with 100% charge and with a extra battery just in case
For $10, these batteries are nothing short of amazing! The charger is nice too.

You won't be disappointed. No more worrying about your battery life anymore

I've ordered all kinds of electronic components on ebay from Hong Kong before, never had a problem. The stuff is cheap as hell, you just have to wait a month on shipping.
What I don't get is how they can sell you an item for $1.03, with $0.99 shipping, and it arrives well packaged in a nice foam padded envelope. They must have some kind of government assistance on shipping over there because it would cost over $5.00 to ship the same thing here.

Damn. Makes me wish I'd've gone the 10$ route. I guess I figured 20$ sounded 'more legit' or something. Crazy, I know. O saw the 2batts and charger for 10$, but it looked like like an AC charger for Evo. Did I miss something? Is it a dock charger for the batt cell alone? (This is what previous post sounds like, with 'not charging for 3 days)

I was switching out my memory card from my Touch Pro 2 to the Evo and realized that the batteries are exactly the same! They just have different stickers. all of the rating are the same as well. If you have an old TP2 and Evo then you can use them interchangeably.

They charged me nothing for them....Normally the techs sit back behind a window in the back of the store....

I just tried it and it worked; paid $25 instead of $50 for the battery and the cover replacement. Not sure I even need it as I just got my phone today, but figured if it's half off I'd be pissed if I didn't buy it now and ended up wanting it later.

Preciate the tip, got mine on the way. I know an extra 250mah isnt much but itll still be a worth a few hours of power on standby. Coming from a thunderbolt with a 3000+mah extended battery its been a learning experience getting used to the capacity of this GN. After the extended battery on the thunderbolt i forgot what worrying about battery life was even like.

when i picked up mine they said they were offering all 4G phones extended batteries for 50% off. It barely adds any depth and definitely worth it. However be sure to check your bill before you sign. I looked after the fact and they used my coorporate discount of 10% not the 50% i was told. And i was charged for an early upgrade fee, something they told me they would take care of by switching it with an already available upgrade on another phone on my account.

Yup. If I logged into the VZW site all I got was my corporate discount. I logged out and bought it as a guest for 50% off plus tax. Not sure I'll need this but the way it's gone through the battery in the last day there's little downside to picking this one up for half off.

I got my corporate discount as well when I logged in but when I went to checkout, it switched to the better deal which was the 50% off. Just FYI it should do the same for everyone else I'd imagine.

Where are you all finding it? Can someone link me? I'm not finding it on their site at all.

Yea mine was 50% off but they said it was because of my corporate discount.
I ended up with it for free anyway. The guy put everything in the bag but kept getting weird error codes when swapping for the rezound. They eventually did a full return and purchase on the GN. Once he got it working he activated the phone and handed me the bag. When I got home I went to put the receipt in the box and no where was the battery and screen protectors charged.
I spent about an hour at the counter after waiting 20min for a free sales rep, so I considered it being paid for wasting my time.
Worth the extra mah. The back plate is only altered a tad. It rounds out the hump verse dipping in. I almost thought they gave me the around back plate until I thoroughly compared the two.

No dice, they wanna charge me 37.49 which comes out to 40.02 total. Plus there's some mamby-jahamby on the shipping page that says sig required for delivery. Earth to Verizon - I pay my bill every month because I am at work every day pfft
Gonna see how the standard battery does for a week or so before I pull the trigger - also concerned that it won't fit the media dock, if and when it comes out

even at 1/2 off that's still a huge freakin' rip off. for 250mAh more i'd be willing to pay $5 but nothing more. i'm going to pass on this crap & just hope that they stop being a$$holes to us and give us a proper extended battery soon.

Just have someone who doesn't have a corporate discount order one for you. I have 2 accounts. One with a corp discount and one without. The account that has a corp discount would not change the price to 24.99 in the check out. I logged out of that one and into the one that does not already have a corp discount and bam! $24.99 once I added it to the shopping cart.
Vzw is pretty strict about making you sign for packages. I'm just having my stuff shipped to the offices I work at.

A little follow up on this purchase.
I received the extended battery and matching cover. The battery fits well, the cover won't stay on. Looks like one or more cover tabs are slightly too big. I plan to visit a Verizon store to correct the situation.

It's still useful for those that don't want a bulbous battery/phone. It's larger and enables one to reload an already charged battery. In this case it isn't just 250mah, it's 2100mah.

It sounds like GSM battery dimensions are slightly smaller.

I am going to be purchasing a new battery.
This thread is for peoples experiences and recommendations for aftermarket and oem batteries for our Tmo version.
As of today, I don't see any available on either Samsungs or Tmos sites.

Steps to get a FREE Battery from T-Mobile + about $7.00 shipping.
1. Call T-mobile customer care.
2. Make up some BS excuse why ur battery isnt working. say the phone gets really HOT and ur battery life is about 15 minutes and now the only way you can make calls is if your phone is on the wall charger.
3. when they are trouble shooting, hint that you think it might be a bad battery.
4. they will offer to mail you a new one for about $7 shipping.
5. If i helped you PLEASE thank me.

I'm pretty sure you have to mail the supposed defected battery to them.

I've used aftermarket batteries twice now and it works perfectly. I've purchased them from Amazon, and some of them are directly from Samsung. You can't go wrong with a fresh battery. Hope this helps!

I could not do that. T-Mobile has always been very fare with me. For the lousy few bucks to buy a new battery it just isn't worth all that. I would feel too guilty.

Yeah forsure it's a great deal. Nice to have some extra juice around, so we don't have to be too concerned about battery life n all.

Haven't seen any posts on this in this thread: keep in mind that if you want to use NFC, the current 3rd party batteries don't have the necessary support for that. NFC is built into the OEM battery.

Anybody with experience with these? Maybe the cheap battery will blow up in my face or maybe newpower99 just grossly marks up?

I was going to give one a go myself when my battery eventually dies, the ebay seller has good feedback for the sales he has made.
But if the worsted happens, you have nobody to sue for damages like you get with a big seller like M99

Nope, been there, done that. Bought cheap replacement batteries before. They didn't blow up or cause any damage, but they never took a charge either! These were 4, count them, 4 batteries for a Canon digital SLR camera. I bought one, no luck, they sent me 3 additional replacements none of which would charge. I did get my money refunded and I bought a REAL Canon battery and it DID charge. Nope, no way I'll do it again. OEM only for ME.

Probably have to agree with this. Cheap for a reason. If it doesn't blow up or damage the device I doubt it'll hold charge or last very long.

So.... Did anyone here end up replacing their batteries?
If so - did you roll the dice with ebay, or go the pricier route with Newpower99?
My battery is still relatively decent, but I expect will need eventual replacement.
What would be a good app to assess a battery, and which result would trigger replacement?

I did replace my 8.4 battery with a new one... bough it at my country for RM 75... approximately around USD 16 and it work fine.

Same here. Got a 15 euro battery on Ebay out of Ireland. Part number matched, it was a perfect original. Works like a charm.

Battery suggestion

I bought a supposedly genuine battery off of Ebay that turned out to be a total bust. It doesn't fit well either as I can feel it shifting inside the phone. :crying:
Does anyone have any suggestions on good OPO 2 replacement batteries?

I actually bought 2 different ones (one from ebay and one from a different site). Both of which turned out to be bad. They worked but they lasted less than the original one. I ended up going back to the original. If yours' is tottaly dead, I suggest you just stick with whatever you've got and don't waste more money.

Because if you already knew, oneplus doesn't sell any replacement parts through their store, they only do repairs (which are expensive afaik)

Damn, guess I'll have to go back to the old one. I might try Amazon and see if they're better than ebay.

Thinking after 2 years it's time for a battery replacement, I ordered as well recently from Ebay waiting it to be delivered but not keeping my hopes high. I let you guys know if it turns out OK.
Edit: It's terrible. Overheats and charges really slow etc. Went back to the stock. Ordered another one. Will update.

same here guys.. got the phone for 20 months now and in winter I got huge battery drops....I'm just calling/email and the battery won't last for more then 8 hrs... this is crazy...

Asked support where to get a original replacement, but they wouldn't tell, but offered to do the replacement for around 40 Euros. It took almost 5 weeks though, so if you have a spare phone, I'd advise to do the same, instead of trying to find a decent replacement somewhere....

before you start getting stuff from ebay and other questionable sources, ask OP how much will it cost you for THEM to replace it.
in my case, they are asking for 33 euros which is actually not bad at all. as a matter of facts, i am actually sending mine out for repair tomorrow. sure, i will have to live without my OP for like 2 weeks, but there is a guarantee i will get an original battery.

I'm using it for 3rd week now...

I recently had my battery replaced by OP.
RMA created in the weekend.
Package shipped out on Tuesday evening (through UPS).
Delivered at the repair center on Wednesday, repair quote received (and paid) in the evening.
Repaired on Thursday morning and dispatched later that day.
Received back in my possession (UPS delivered) on Friday.
Sure, it was wiped, bootloader locked and flashed with OOS 3.6.1. but that was expected.
I have absolutely no reason to complain and I hereby officially regret all my previous attempts to get a "new" battery from ebay or other questionable sources for which I wasted more money than OP asked for: 33 EUR.
New battery immediately increased the SOT by 1 hour and i no longer face the issue i faced before which was: whenever the battery dropped to 30% i knew i had no more than half an hour left until the phone died.
So, if you need a new battery, save yourself the time and money and do it the same way. I would certainly recommend this to all european customers, like me.

Hello, can you please install "accubatery" app from playstore and charge your phone from 1-100% without using it? It will show you a real estimate of your battery capacity. Post screenshots afterwards, I will buy that battery for sure if its close to an original new one. Thank you!

Thank you, the 0-100% is not that important, the bigger fraction of charge the better, you can install it now and it will measure your battery over time, the more charge sessions of over 20% the more accurate results it gives.

That's actually very nice score, looks like a real oem battery or a very close one. New original. Batteries show around 90%-93% with that app. Buying one, thankyou.

Maybe this has been asked elsewhere... but facing the fact that mostly our only option here is 3rd party batteries... has anyone tried one of the two (or more?) Chinese 3800mAh batteries? One is called an HSABAT (maybe the company) and the other a Da Da Xiong.

AGAIN... neither of these have been tested by me. I am wanting input from anyone who has tested them.
