I did updated all roms that you guys post on 'Hermes Mobile 6'. I would say that everything goes very good but the problem is battery drain decrease very fast. Any suggestion about this problem?
When you say all ROMs, have you tried different Radio ROM's? Different radios can have a big impact on battery use; only way to find out is to flash one, use it for a few days. Helps to have Battery Bar which monitors power consumption as well. The latest is not necessarily the greatest. Sometimes it's best to use an older radio ROM. Trying out is the only answer
Hope this helps
Let it drain all the way to null..so you can't even turn it on. Then charge up fully and it should last much longer. Or flash only with 100% on battery. I've had this a coupla times with new flashes on 60 or 70% battery. I'll drain it down and charge it up and battery life is back to normal.

What u mean drain? 2-3 hrs less or more? My battery life is normal it doesn’t mater witch ROM I’m Flashing. Do as Scrog saying is good idea
I think I know what jcute means...
My dopod is occasionally going from a full charge to empty sometimes during the night. I *think* it only occurs when Edge is connected (I haven't really studied it thoroughly).
If this is the same problem, a full charge will not help.
I'm currently using radio version 1.40.30.00. I'm going to try upgrading it to see if it improves the situation. jcute: which radio rom do you have installed?

Hey there,
I was using the CM7 nightlies for a while, and the battery life was great. However, it seems like ever since I flashed CM7 Stable my battery life has went down. The part I'm finding odd is that it didn't even last 12 hours today and I barely used the phone (especially in the first 8 hours since I was at work). As well, the battery usage shows Cell Standby and Phone Idle combined using over 85% power, which I've never seen before. I want to say it might be some of my apps, but they're the same ones I've been using. In case it makes a difference, here's my setup:
LauncherPro
Trillian
Clock/Weather widget from Fancy Widget
SetCPU on "conservative" setting
Gmail, Facebook, Messages widgets from LauncherPro
Power Widget
Score Mobile widget
None of my sync settings are really frequent, most are hourly refresh, another is 30 minutes. And since I haven't had this problem before CM7 stable I'm still thinking maybe it's something with the ROM.
What I'd like to know is if I should try to calibrate the battery first. And if that's the case, what is the best method to calibrate the battery so the ROM is reporting it accurately.
Thanks in advance
Anyone have any ideas?
I have been getting the BEST BATTERY LIFE EVER since moving to the latest radio.
Sent from my G2 running Cyanogenmod 7.
wipe the battery stats... look at the forum how to.

Which radio is that?
Always flash at 100%. Then use your phone at least 4 days, as in 2 complete cycles of using until you have to charge it again. Do not change your radio unless you are absolutely confident about the things you are going to do. Chances are you have a custom rom which does not match the radio you are trying to flash, resulting in a expensive ¨presse papier`.

I appreciate the caution, but the current radio I have is the version that Virtuous recommended to update to. Is there a more "Cyanogen-specific" radio?

I got the stock radio and it's working perfectly. 28hours of uptime with ease (and everything on, incl pushmail). No GPS issues, good reception and no static in the background.
when you say use your phone for 4 days (2 completely cycles) until you have to charge it agian... what do you mean exactly? i need to charge mine after like 8 hours...

What I mean is that you should, after you flashed a new rom, drain the battery at least two times and charge it again fully. Or charge at 100%, flash and wipe battery stats after flashing to speed this up a little. Point is, there is no definite daily use. You could (usually not) notice a very small difference in batterydrain after flashing, but be sure it's not because of Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS or some other thing which is accidently turn on. That's why I said to use the phone for 4 days, and 2 complete cycles. I do not use my phone as heavy as you seem to do. Furthermore, I take care not to turn Wifi, Bluetooth or GPS on when I do not need those functions.
Hi,
due to my low post count I can't post in the actual thread about that ROM hence this topic.
I have a little problem with battery in my Desire Bravo. On my previous ROM DeFrost 6.1a the battery was holding for ~52h (low usage). After flashing with RCMix S v2.0 it dropped terribly to ~7h (nearly to none usage). This is a huuuuuuge difference as you may notice.
The phone is running exactly the same apps as previously, same settings (Wifi, GPS etc. I mean the most battery related). The only things I've also done prior to flashing the ROM was:
S-OFF
flashed with HBOOT CM7 r2
that's all.
Did anyone experience the same problem? Or does anyone know how to solve it? To anticipate the question: I haven't wipe battery stats after flashing.
HTC Desire A8181
32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
CM7 r2 HBOOT
Well there are a few things that have changed. You have gone from Froyo to Gingerbread. You have fine from AOSP to Sense. RCMix S has bits of Sense 3 thrown in too. So really, it takes a lot to run. I have used that rom but you really have to maximize the battery yourself instead of relying on the rom to do all the work.

exactly. more graphics means more battery consumption.

I also had battery issues with 2.0. Flashed 2.1. http://rom.robocik.mobi/Desire/RCMixS/v2.1/
whenever you flash a new rom calibrate your battery(i use battery calibrator) and i am using this rcmix 2.0 rom from last 2 week i have no issue with battery.
I generally get a fair while out of mine.
I've been "up" for 14h:40m and I've lose 42% battery.
Here's some battery saving tips:
Turn off OTA updates (Settings-About-Software Updates)
Turn off "Notifiy me of Open Networks" (WiFi)
Change Wi-Fi Sleep policy to 15 minutes (Wi-Fi Advanced)
Turn off Pocket Mode (In Sounds)
Also, having two batteries helps I kept my old one from an insurance claim and charge them using a dock. Means I don't have to worry about running out of juice if I'm out for a long time.
Well, I updated to RCMix S v2.1 as someone suggested and it actually made it even worse. The battery was sucked dry after 5 hours. Then I used the Battery Calibrator. Now it's been 20h since last charging exactly and I got 60%. That's way better than it was. So it seems like the problem was that I haven't wipe the batter stats after flashing new ROM. Lesson learned.
Thanks for all your answers. I appreciate that.
When do you wipe the battery stats, though? I've never done ir.
I had 15h yesterday and about 22% loss. Now I'm at 1d, 13h, 17m and 54% lost!
Well, as far as I know we are supposed to wipe them after every ROM flash as those stats are old (previous ROM) and not reliable anymore. I'm sure someone more experienced than me will have something more to say about it.
I never knew that. Aren't you supposed to wipe when it's dead, though (0%)?
This would explain why when I got a new phone and installed this rom straight to it the new battery was better than the old. Both are fine now though. Or at least I can't tell which is which anymore!

You are actually supposed to charge the battery to 100% and then some. Download current widget and put on your homescreen. Charge until 100% and when current widget reads 0a you unplug, boot into recovery and whipe battery stats.
I'm currently using MildWild 4.3 Final and find the battery level decreases on idle far too quick. I've checked using badassbattery app and nothing untoward is shown in there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

firstly, need to know what your actual decrease over a period of time, and whether you have anything syncing. and also what you're expecting or wanting it to be. this can be very subjective. what you're already achieving could be quite good. age of your battery is also important.
- assuming you're using inbuilt kernel, set min cpu to 245 ondemand
- betterbattery stats is another useful app to check partial wakelocks (bad apps keeping phone awake)
- use something like currentwidget to monitor idle battery drain if you want to. with screen off, 3g on, the minimum standby drain you can normally achieve is around 3-5mA drain.
if the above checks out, it's probably not a rom issue, may just need a new battery. switching roms may make a difference, and you can try the above on others to actually measure if there are any, rather than placebo. oxygen is supposed to be of the more efficient variety anyway
I've done all those things and I'm also using a brand new genuine HTC Desire battery. I still find that when I leave my phone alone, no Wireless or data or any app running in the background, the battery goes down by 10% every hour or so.
woah then that's way too much, definitely doesn't look like rom/sofware issue to me, sounds like hardware.
what does idle battery drain report?.
i think there are other apps which will measure the actual battery capacity. if it's official should hopefully be close 90-90% of the stated 1400mAh capacity i believe.
not sure what else to suggest which will actually solve problem this however, other than repair
Use the manu 2.1 axi cfs kernel. Only lose 2% an hour with wi fi set to turn off on screen off!

ManU is not designed for oxygen, also loses camera drivers by doing this. 2% idle drain / hour is not that great either...50 hours standby with screen and wifi off...
@elrasho, you could try flashing a different rom or stock RUU to be absolutely sure. if you've done all the sensible things above like checking bad apps and still getting ~10% drain / hour, you can pretty safely assume it's hardware...

2% an hour is so efficient! You find another ROM/Kernel which can give you the same battery drainage.
Oh and I thought he meant mw cm. For oxygen use thalmus mod 8 using smartass v2 governor

if that's what's good enough for you. personally, i think not. if idle (screen off, wifi/data off), i see anything above 1% / hour as bad, but that's my expectation

stock/inbuilt kernel with ondemand should work just fine. mod 8 is based on slightly older sources. whether smartassV2 is better depends, but i think it has to be actually measured, not 'seems to last longer'
The older kernels tend to be more power efficient ala manu kernels. I've never tried leaving my phone on standby and waiting for it to discharge. I get 14 hours out of my desire a day with mw cm 4.3 with manu 2.1 cfs kernel under moderate to heavy usage

Which ROM do you recommend me to try eddiehk6?
CM7 + Tiamat Kernel + 100-800Mhz CPU.

no nor have i, all i'm saying is that if i do leave it idle doing nothing, i perceive 2% / hour drain as poor

not tried enough, though i trust bortak!
but no rom should give you 10% / hour idle drain...stock rom/RUU with nothing installed is an easy benchmark to test
i still think it's hardware by the sounds of things, but doesnt hurt to try other roms in the meantime. hope you work something out:fingers-crossed:
Okay, is it possible my battery for my One V is already going bad only 5 months into owning it? Over the past 2-3 weeks my battery has NEVER reached a full 100% charge unless I reboot it, otherwise it get's stuck at a certain percentage until a reboot. Then about 2 days ago I started to notice severe battery drain with incorrect percentage reading, my phone would literally lose like 5% every 30 minutes. And it would drain to 0 really fast but when I reboot it owuld only be a like 50%, then it would drain real fast again, i'd reboot and it may be at 40%, and this is continuing to happen.
So is my battery just going bad?
If u are rooted, wipe battery stats in recovery..... It might help.... And also, if rooted, which rom are u using.....????+ check your overclock....
I have tried battery wiping, it hasn't helped, I am using Code Fire X and I am OC'ed but i run it on SavageZen so it's almost always underclocked.
PrimoC????
Ask the rom developer about it then.... He might be able to help u bettet...

first wipe your battery stats from recovery and wipe dalvik cache then install battery calibration and charge the battery up to 100% then let it go until it become show zero % remaining then charge your battery and check the performance
You must be joking. The issue is with misplacement of battery. Remove the battery somehow and wipe the contacts and replace it

Simon has said that he's still working on getting the battery kernel modules working correctly on the CFX ROM. I would probably try a different JB ROM to see if it's really your battery, or just the ROM.
It's a 4.2.2 update there is got be bugs....so u have to manage for a while
