Hey guys i have an random question...
What would happen if i would do a (settings>sd card & storage>) > Factory Reset? to my phone...
will it have any efect on my current radio,s-off,root,etc?
No. Radio, s-off, root will remain.
So it will only revert my phone's rom to Stock?
No, it'll just wipe the data - won't touch the ROM
Got it,tnx

If I perform a factory reset from the Privacy option in settings will I lose root/SU? Just curious what will be the best way to get a stock backup image.
No, you will not loose root.

Hey guys, I just got a Note 3 and I am looking to sell my Galaxy S3. I hadn't used it much but regardless it's obvious I have to do a factory reset so it wipes all my data and also gives the guy I sell it to a fresh phone.
But I've heard resetting an S3 is not as straightforward as it should be. Now the phone is unlocked (does reset remove the unlock?). So there are two resets? Hard reset and soft ware reset? Which one do y'all recommend and how do you do it? Which reset mode will let the new user use it as if it's a new phone?
You can do a wipe from the OS and also a wipe from stock recovery.
The phone will remain unlocked.

Is the OS wipe where you go to settings and select backup and factory reset? Doesn't the OS wipe leave your saved stuff/collected info on the phone?

It shouldn't. In case it does, that's why I also suggested wiping it from recovery.
To really be safe, you could flash a stock ROM via Odin, depending on the OS that's currently installed.

I guess recovery is the Hard reset this guy is talking about here?:

If so are those directions:
Settings > Personal > Back Up and Reset > Factory Data Reset > Reset Device > Delete All.
Correct? I don't wanna flash anything. I bought the phone a week ago, still on stock 4.1.1 lol just a vanilla AT&T unlocked phone
I have an HTC One V that was originally on Virgin Mobile. I unlocked the phone, flashed a recovery, rooted it, flashed it to PagePlus, and then flashed a ROM. I have a new phone now and I am giving the One V to a friend. I need to factory reset the phone, but I am worried that doing so will result in the loss of the PagePlus flash or problems with the custom ROM.
Will a factory reset cause any problems? If so, what's the best and quickest way of removing my apps and information from the phone? Flashing another ROM over it?
You can only factory reset from recovery! Do not reset from within your Rom! This will only erase all user data. you will not lose your Rom unless you wipe system.

Hi,
I am selling my HTC One X with ARHD 20.1 on it but I want to do a factory reset. To clarify I want to keep ARHD but I want to delete all my data so the new owner can start with an 'empty' phone.
Thx
I would just do a clean install. Copy the rom to the phone and do a full wipe in the recovery and install the rom again
Is a there no way to factory reset the phone through the custom recovery? I don't have the rom anymore and I don't want to spent much time on it.
Well you can try a normal factory reset via the bootloader, but in a slight case the chance exist that it won't boot anymore. Or check if I'm the settings menu to reset the phone/rom
hi guys,
I would like to know if one of the two factory reset option (the one in bootloader and the one in stock recovery) will preserve my external data or they will be wiped for sure.
Running on stock HOX 4.2.2
thanks in advice
On stock both wipe it external data, if your bootloader is unlocked flash a custom recovery to preserve your external data, if ur bootloader is still locked, be aware unlocking it will wipe ur data too.
