HTC Sense 2.0 for the EVO - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to get HTC sense 2.0 if you are rooted? I'm looking for an update or something. Not another rom. Thanks.

Sense 2.0 isn't officially released for the evo yet. If you check the development section you will find a few ports of sense 2.0 in the works but that's about the best you're going to get ATM. There isnt just an UPDATE, sense is built into the whole rom. You need to flash a sense 2.0 ROM to get it.

Alright thanks.

HTC hasnt said if the 2.3 update will come with Sense 2.0 or not. Best bet is to wait for the Thunderbolt port. The other ports are from GSM ROMs.

Myn's works very well.

You'll never see it as an "update" outside of ROM. All current and future forms of it will be a new ROM. Even if HTC releases it, it's a new ROM.

Yeah, that's true.
I live in Los Angeles, one of few supported cities, and I never use 4G. So, it works for me! Just thought maybe he could give it a shot. I gladly sacrifice 4G for how nice the ROM is to me. Just a suggestion!

By preview they mean screenshots not the actual rom.
Ihtfp posted some teaser pics of what it to come. We should see it soon, he has had some Internet issues that has delayed the release.

It's going to be the latest RUU, so no 2.3. He has testers testing it, so if all is good it should be out soon.

Does he have a page up with a log change or possible changes from 3.5 to 4.0? I havent been able to find one?
No, not that I've seen, maybe just ask him...? He does some pretty remarkable things, Athena/SR are great, and I expect this to be awesome.
I've asked him via Twitter.

[Q] Most ROMS?

A question of curiosity, does the Droid Incredible have the most ROMs? If it doesn't which phone does?
I don't think so. I know the Evo has us beat.

Yup so does the HTC Thunderbolt with their sensation port which is going well now that they have a workable rosie and lockscreen.

The OG Desire is doing pretty good they actually have a sensation port and we dont.......can't wait till our gingersense ota gets leaked and we can get some good ports up
So, the jist I get from this discussion is that HTC kicks ass at making phones. Yup. I know my Incredible has turned me into an HTC fanboy.
Can't help but suspect that the Droid1 has the most ROMs.

Im going to call you on this one. Have you looked at the Android Dev section of the Incredible vs the Thunderbolt? There are 18 devs in Rom Manager alone for the Incredible

OG Droid, first "droid" since Verizon bought the rights to use Droid in advertising for their Android phones.
G1 is the first Android Device.
And of course to answer the OP's original question, I'm going to say either the Nexus One or the G1. Both are known as true developer's phones. I mean, they have Gingerbread running on the G1!
What is the best ROM for the incredible , I am rooting my wifes phone and looking for a good rom. any help would be appreciated....
thanks,

[Q] Anyone have a copy of UltimateDroid 3.3.0 ROM

Anyone have a copy of UltimateDroid 3.3.0 ROM or a link?
I keep reading great things about the ROM but cant find a copy.
Is anyone using it and what is it like?
Yeah I have one on my sd card still =). I dunno how to upload it to anything though but it was speedy. I liked it, just the lockscreen has that ultimate droid on it. I may even go back to it lol. If someone can tell me how to upload it I will.

Trust me...it is that good. Its stable and VERY speedy. I never had a sinlge issue with it. If it used the newer kernels id be on it still. It had this thing where you could download different boot animations fonts and everything, the servers have went down and the rom has become like the villainrom. I haven't even tried villainrom. I think the dev was in a flood or major thing happened and he has been rebuilding his life. Hopefully he comes back, I found out about it late.

Lol this keeps getting asked. Its a rom that's different. I'm not a developer so I truly can't tell you. I think its based off cm7. Its very speedy and what made it great was the ability to change boot animations, fonts, themes and all kinds of stuff on the fly. They were built in I should say. It was always stable for me and if it ran the new kernel id be on it for sure. You can't download that stuff anymore because his servers are down. He was in a natural disaster so I think thays why. I hope that helped. If not I know you can google the rom and see reviews and stuff.

so this works for G2 right? Just checking cuz I tried to install a few others and they apparently weren't for G2
Just try it for crying out loud...not the end of the world if you don't like it

Think I heard they abandoned it. Hasn't been updated in months.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Definitely abandoned. I'm calling bull$hit on the whole natural disaster thing. The whole project went under a lot of heat and then it suddenly all stopped. I don't see it coming back, but I'd love to try it if it did. I don't want to use an outdated ROM though, because there is no support or future hope for it.
Great rom thank you

The problem of the OTA trying to download and install under RMK's gingersense is easily fixed/prevented. Just freeze or rename com.smithmicro.dm. Worked for me.
Well then use true leftys, basically stock, and i never noticed any problems, I did the patch and firmware update, and it was there a week ago...

Just curious, but why do you need to go back to sense 2.1?
If you can live with 3.0, virtuous unity is a good option imo

Well, on the ROM I was on, Incredible 2 3D, would freeze multiple times a day. I need more stability than that. I simply restored from my nandroid backup and I'm back to where I was.

That's where custom 2.1/3.0/3.5 ROMs come in.

I think HTC thinks Sense (2.1/3.0/3.5) won't run on the DInc. I also thought that Sense 3.5 was supposed to be the version that didn't require the hardware requirements that 3.0 required, so I would think that would've been the version they could've used instead of 1.0... At this point, I don't think HTC will release any more updates for this phone.
Sad really, cause it's a work-horse.

I think it was more along the lines of this was going to be the last official update so they were not going tto take the time to build 2.1 sense on a device they no longer support. They just wanted to update the base and interlace sense 1.0 and push it out. They did the same with the EVO.

HTC and most manufacturers out there seem clueless. I mean imagine a world where the UOT Kitchen wasn't something developers had to come up with over months of dissecting the phone, but rather a software program that came with your Incredible that allowed you to plug your phone into your computer and make simple color changes and things to personalize your phone.
It's sad really because HTC is so great in some ways - they did afterall, put out the Dinc to begin with. But they do tend to move on to new phones fast...
Thank God for XDA developers!
