Hi there,
I was searching the forums for an RS-232 for serial access and can't find any information as I was wondering if there is a RS-232 cable avaiable for serial access. Like the cables RS-232 to USB converter for laptops to config cisco, juipters and Huawei. I have a RS-232 to USB but it is using a regular USB A plug. So the other question is that is possible to use the regual RS-232 to USB converter with gender change, but I don't think there are any drivers for the accessory for WM6. So it sounds like I have answered my own question . BTW, I am using the Kasier and it would be a great help if I can buy one instead of DIY one like -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=257858
Kengie
would believe it is required for such a device to work that the pda support usb host only Athena does that
Thanks. I though that the Kasier has the OTG (yes it does), but you are right. It doesn't support the USB Host features. Thanks.
if you by OTG mean usb on the go then htc dont seem to use that feature in any of their devices even if the cpu have it included it seems they use their own usb chip
Hi guys i want to buy galaxy nexus for the reason it supports USB DAC. Did any try that is that really working. Share your thoughts.
I would also like to know this, I hope someone with the phone can answer.
I would also like to know.

Woooooo looks like there is a good number of phones out there already. Yet nobody tried on with the external usb DAC, no website gave any review about that feature. Smells fishy about this feature.
"Galaxy Nexus Help" from Google:

"Connect to keyboards, mice and other devices
You can connect a keyboard, mouse or even a joystick or other input device to your phone via USB or Bluetooth and use it just as you would with a PC.
....
You can connect joysticks, game pads and other input devices to your phone. If they work without special drivers or adapters on your PC, they will probably work with your phone."

The OP is not looking for an input device. He's looking for unprocessed digital audio out via the MHL interface. There seem to be several MHL cables out there (mostly HDMI interfaces), but so far as I know nobody has tried to connect to an outboard DAC via USB. It will largely depend on whether the circuitry and firmware in the phone enable digital audio out via USB.
I don’t know what is a (USB) input device, because USB is a bi-directional bus: a USB DAC sends/receives USB commands to/from the PC or smartphone like Nokia N8.
The key sentence of the "Galaxy Nexus Help" from Google is:
“If they (USB devices like USB DAC) work without special drivers or adapters on your PC, they will probably work with your phone."
Does ICS have USB audio driver?
Probably yes: “USB class for audio devices”.
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/usb/host.html
http://developer.android.com/reference/android/hardware/usb/UsbConstants.html
Is the ICS’s USB audio driver compliant with standard USB DAC(s) which are compliant with the standard PC’s USB audio drivers??
Does the GN support the ICS’s USB audio driver??

That's why I am trying to reactivate the subject from time to time.
BTW, thanks for that.
I would try to connect mine to my FiiO E7 but I don't seem to have any Mini USB to Micro USB cable lying around. ):

Maybe you need something like this?
Yeah if no one has tried this by the weekend I might go look around for one. Somewhat interested myself if this would work.

To get this to work, if it can even work in the first place, you need the modified kernel until Google fixes USB hosting on the Nexus. With USB Hosting enabled, you then need a micro-b USB to USB female OTG cable such as this: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-Hos...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1322188402&sr=1-2
Any update as to whether or not the E7 works when connected with a USB OTG cord?
I second the request for an update.
If I could find my E7, I'd test it for you.. but it's currently MIA..
edit -
Found it, but it's battery is dead.. has to charge..
edit 2 - Audio doesn't output out of the E7.. is there some app I need to change the audio source? It does not appear that android changes over audio output on its own..
Probably something that has to be specifically implemented at the kernel level.. just the basic USB OTG doesn't seem to be enough.

Hello guys, I was wondering if you could help me out
I already have the phone (durr ) and the USB OTG Cable but my doubt is the following:
Can I have the USB OTG connected to the phone and to a Hub at the same time?
[btw:Being one of the ports of the USB Hub a charger and the other ones random stuff (such as mouse, keyboard and so on)]

Pretty sure when in otg mode it will always be a power source and unable to charge but I could be wrong.
hello,
I bought this device:
http://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Ethernet-Chromebook-Supported-Aluminum/dp/B012N8KYWU
because it reads nice, I just got it but as i plug it in it only flashes and the tablet only detects is as chargeable device.
I can switch to RNDIS as i wanted to try ethernet, in the developer option but if I do that, the Pixel reboots and reset the option to the prior one.
It even doesn't recognize a USB Stick on that Hub.
Is the hub broken or is there another issue?
Thanks Avalun.
I recently bought this USB Hub / Ethernet adapter and have successfully verified that the USB ports work and the Ethernet port works. I turned off the WiFi while testing the Ethernet port to be 100% sure. I also had USB Debugging enabled when doing all this.

thanks for the reply unfortunately that one is not available in the EU

Yes but it doesn't have an ethernetport. Additinally that doesn't deliver to Austria too.
Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to the USB-C world and was wondering why does my Samsung Galaxy S9 only charge when I plug it into my Windows 10 PC using a double sided USB-C (10Gbs) cable.
The phone does not give me an option to change the mode to data transfer.
PS:
The cable being used "USB C Cable, QacQoc USB C to USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable supporting 100W Power Delivery, 10Gbps Data Transfer, [email protected] Video Output Thunderbolt 3 Compatible for USB Type-C Devices, 1.2m"
Thanks in advance
enable Developer Mode (go to settings, about phone, then Software Information, then Build Number around 7-10 times (it'll say "X more clicks to enable Developer Mode" (or something like that)). Once Dev Mode is on, you can select "DEveloper Options" in Settings, then Default USB Configuration, and choose "Transferring Files"
