I have a HTC desire Z (Bell) that I had stock android on that I got second hand.
Ever since I got it the Wifi and Bluetooth say error and the mac addresses are not in the phone info.
Anyone have any idea what this could be caused by or how to fix it?
Thanks,
Chuck

This is a long shot, but is your Wifi and BT turned on when you are checking for the MAC addresses?
If its off, it will show as unknown/unavailable in Settings/About Phone Menu.

Any ideas at all? I'm thinking I'm going to rewrite my bcm4329.ko with someone else;s if I can find a copy. Maybe they'll fix my wifi. Found out that in the logcat it wasn't loading the WiFi drivers.
I am currently having the same issue with a Desire... tried everything apart from unrooting... there has to be a fix for this!
Has anybody figured a solution for this? I am currently having the same issue. Cm7 nightly 171
It first appeared 2 days ago on cm 7 nightly 168. I have done a superwipe, reinstalled radio and all that good stuff.

Check
Hi mate,
First off - check another Wi-Fi. Does it do the same ?
Second - download a different Wi-Fi software.
There is enough of them out there for you to choose from.
Question: How close are you to the Wi-Fi router ?
(Maybe the antenna of the laptop wifi is simply stronger)
This could cause the loosing of signal.
GOOD LUCK !
do a full wipe if you have the time.
What is ICS8.5?
Hi!
I've installed several custom ROMs on my Wildfire S. Jelly King, JellyFish, Marvellous, Sense 5, Speed Droid, MIUI, Paranoid Android, CM10 Nightlies, and other ones that now I forgot. On each one of them I have the same issue: When I turn the phone's screen off, after a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 10 or 15), Wi-Fi connection stops working, I stop receiving messages (WhatsApp, Facebook, GTalk, etc). If I turn on the screen, the notification bar shows that Wi-Fi is online and working, but it's not, i.e. I open GTalk and it's disconnected, I open a website and have connection error. I have to wait or turn it off and then on again in order to get Wi-Fi working again. On every ROM I tried I checked the Wi-Fi always connected option to be selected, so that's not the solution. I also tried various"keep wifi alive" apps, and no luck. Same thing happens with Mobile Data.
With stock ROMs, everything works perfect.
My radio version is the latest available (Radio_47.23g.35.3038H_7.57.39.15M), I updated it a few months ago. My original stock ROM was 1.76 version (Brightstar Personal, Argentina).
I want to know if this is a common error or if I'm having something wrong and it can be solved. I'd really appreciate any help to get rid of this trouble.
Thanks in advance!!

Any other ideas?

Yes, I think Mobile Data bug is one of the most important bugs of JB roms too, and It's usually ignored.
I have to try WeFi Pro for some hours or a day to say if it works or not. So tomorrow there'll be news
Tried WeFi Pro for a day, once or twice I lost connection as always. What could be done to solve this? I'm a developer but never touched nothing android related, maybe something can be done with source code.
Strange using this app I didn't had any issues...

I am using jellyking 2.0. wifi works fine for me, but i have the same issue with mobile data.
everytime i lose connection, i have to reboot the device to make it work.
In my ROM, data bug is fixed.
Gesendet von meinem Orange Boston mit Tapatalk 2
In this ROM(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2022331) both data bug and low brightness bug are fixed
Hope it helps
Since last couple of months I'm facing this. My wifi, once connected, stays connected. But once turned off, after turning on, it would just show the connection as saved, secured with wpa2 and won't connect. Turning off and on multiple times doesn't help as well. Just if i keep it off for some hours or so, then turn it on, it might sometimes get connected. The signal strength is excellent though and once connected, it stays connected. I've tried factory resetting, formatting data as well. Tried a lot of different roms but in vain. Could this be a hardware issue? Is there any workaround for this?
Does this occur with all wifi locations?
Are you running stock rom?

I didn't think the radio would impact Wi-Fi.
I would try to see what happens on another Wi-Fi hotspot, to rule out something with the home wi-fi.
