[Q] Please Help. Battery Stat usage problem, cant get answers.. - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After switching my wifes EVO to RC2, SZ 0.2.1, baseband 09.01 she had her battery die in less than 5 hours with almost no real usage.
When I looked at her battery stats it said this,
android system 30%
cell standby 23%
phone idle 19%
wifi 10%
display 9%
android os 5%
voice calls 5%
I have never seen the "android system" use that much battery.. its usually in the bottom of the usage stats. Can someone tell me what can be causing this?
Thanks!

Display taking up alot of battery?

I'm on here often and see of screen shots of peoples battery info. I don't see any one as high as mine. Here are my battery stats being unplugged for 6 hours and 1m
Display 74%
Cell stand by 7%
Phone idle 5%
Android system 5%
Dolphin hd browser 4%
Voice calls 2%
Swype 2%
I haven't used it much this morning so maybe the screen is taking up the most, but it always is the highest percent. Any ideas?

Are you running CM6?
Yes, is there an issue with this also?
Been unplugged for 2h 58m
My top is Cell Standby at 25%
Bottom is Display at 6%
rooted/forever/2.1/Hydra uv stock clock
I have auto-adjust off and keep the screen fairly dim, simply because that's how I like it not to save battery.

Im not sure if it is an issue but CM6 will show high display usage, where else other ROMs would usually show cell standby higher.
High display usage is a common theme on every single phone...it's what takes up the most battery in devices. Turn down your brightness if it's getting to be too much for you. Keep in mind that charge is the percentages of the battery taken up so far. so 75% of battery if you only have 10% gone is only 7.5% of your total battery.

[Q] Odd battery usage

Can anyone explain to me why the Android System has not used any battery but the Maps are eating it alive? BTW.. 13 hour uptime still have 55% battery which is kinda odd for this phone.. WiFi was on the entire time.

Cell standby

I've been better monitoring my batterylife today to see if I can get by on a normal work day or if I'll need an exteded battery (ever since getting the phone its been dying very quickly, because I've been playing games on it). So far, it's been going all day and will definetly reach the 10 hour mark with web browsing and texting. However I do 1 concern, 30% of my battery life has been used up by 'Cell Standby'. Is this normal? I had an extended battery on my g1, so I never had to worry about battery life too much, and don't know how much cell standby took up on it. I'm just suprised that it takes up more than "android System" or anything else on my phone.

(Could it be because its on the att network?)
Update- just to give you a grasp of my battery usage for the day:
was not put in charger all day
currently at 10%
been on for 13h and 56m

Cell Standby Increase..what causes it?

Hi,
A few days ago my cell standby was at 3% and battery life was just perfect....I checked it today and it increased to 10% and my battery drains faster now...what is the cause to this increase? Is there a way to fix this??
Thanks.

battery drain by media.extractor

with not even moderate use, the battery drained down to 30% in 10 hours. I have not experienced this fast drain before on Pixel C. :crying:
system 24%
10% used by media.extractor
I'll restart and charge now (hopefully that's it) but i'm still interested:
can anybody tell me, what that media.extractor actually does?
