Hi everyone!
Just wanted to ask if anyone could upload their tun.ko for the said kernel. I'm trying OpenVPN and it is one of the requirement for the program to run.
Thanks a lot in advance!

You can't build a loadable kernel module without recompiling the kernel, hence theoretically you must also change the kernel....
I think that the stock kernel has this model built inside the kernel, so you should be able to just run OpenVPN and it should work, no need to load anything.
If this still does not work for you, look at the FlyKernel from my signature, it should solve the problem for you (if you try it and there are problems let me know on it's thread).
Thanks for the reply! I cant find tun.ko anywhere so I guess it is missing from the official rom. Im getting tired of the stock rom anyway so maybe its time to load up some custom prepared eclair or froyo.;-) i'll try cronos droid as im curious of what divx library is for. Maybe it can paly divx natively? Anyway, thanks again!

I'll try to clarify what I tried to say above: To the best of my knowledge there is no tun.ko in the official ROM. This is the way it should be. And yet openVPN will still work for you. Did you try to use OpenVPN and have some problem with it?
hey, thanks for taking time helping me out.
I was able to install openvpn. I can enable openvpn too, however, may problem is I can't use my openvpn configuration. For some reason, I can't make my openvpn configuration enabled. No error whatsoever. When I click the check mark for the configuration, it just blinks. Here's my hunch, In the tun module settings, there is this option: "path to tun module" which I dont know where to point to since the stock kernel does not have tun.ko. I downloaded a couple of tun.ko that I saw here and a couple of others I found using google. But since these are all not for the kernel that I have, it all didn't work. what do you think should I do?

Ok, I was sure for some reason that openVPN should work well with the stock kernel (personally I don't use VPN so can't really check it myself).
I think your best bet now is to try a different kernel. You can try my kernel from my signature (flykernel) which should work on almost any ROM. Or if you where planning to checkout different ROMs, go for it and hopefully it will work for there.
just finished reading your kernel details and it sounds interesting! I'll give it a try now.
and yea, thanks for the help and for your kernel.
Hi all,
I have had used CM on my z1c since August 2014 and did updates with nightlies quite regularly without any issues. But last Friday, after I updated from
cm-12.1-20150925-NIGHTLY-amami to
cm-12.1-20151002-NIGHTLY-amami
my wifi problems started. Whenever it reconnects to the wifi I see the exclamation point next to the icon, then it disconnects again. It also shows the exclamation point next to the mobile reception icon. But I seem to have mobile data connection via the mobile phone provider. However, wifi is broken, resolving domain names doesn't seem to work.
I cannot downgrade to the last working version either because whenever I try to do that using Cyanogenmod recovery, the phone is stuck in the boot animation for hours so I had to give up.
In addition, I cannot activate bluetooth anymore. Whenever I switch it on, it switches itself off after a few seconds.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be and how to fix/debug/investigate this any further? Where do I start looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
BTW: forgot to mention: I'm on cm-12.1-20151004-NIGHTLY-amami now but problem remains the same.

You didn't happen to flash M5 kernel, did you? I've read that it breaks WiFi on latest night lies. Besides that, I've read about various people having troubles with WiFi and BT on some CM Roms, but I haven't experienced it myself. Look through the CM 12.1 thread in 'original development' forum for fixes, etc.
I can confirm that all nightlies from cm-12.1-20150929-NIGHTLY-amami.zip to cm-12.1-20151004-NIGHTLY-amami.zip have issues with wifi and bt.
Currently it is not possible to get an older version than 20150929 from CM servers.
Does anyone have a link to cm-12.1-20150925-NIGHTLY-amami.zip ?

Thanks for the hint. Will search for more info in the forum. :good:
However, how would I know if I flashed a M5 kernel? I definitely wasn't aware of flashing it. My current kernel version is 3.4.0-cm-g1e19761

I still have the package for cm-12.1-20150925-NIGHTLY-amami.zip on my phone. But can't downgrade to it because after flashing it, my z1c is stuck in the boot animation. I have waited at least 3 hours before I gave up and reflashed the newer version.
EDIT - sorry, link's dead. I should've checked it first. I would also be interested in trying an older build.
Does this help?

Did anyone test cm-12.1-20151008-NIGHTLY-amami.zip ?
Changelog says that wifi and bt problems have been fixed.

Giulio Cervera added a comment - Yesterday 4:28 AM
this was 2 issue:
1) the channel bonding
2) taimport was running with wrong timing, and BT and wifi mac address was not exported in /data/etc
fix for both is merged

Just installed 20151008, I had been having major issues with wifi EAP previously (think i was on a MAY2015 build), this build's looking a lot better. The app launcher is alphabetized, and toast notifications have an icon from the app that generated them. I haven't tried bluetooth yet - my previous build was very bad with BT, I'm hoping this one's better.
Running 20151010 for over 6hrs now ...
wifi and bt are running stable and it looks like the issues have been resolved

So far, I'm only seeing AudioFX (equaliser) issues (which are a known bug). I haven't tested Bluetooth, but there have been issues with previous builds. Just take a full backup and then try it out.

I saw a new build released today and yesterday, but I haven't rooted my device and can't install twrp or cwm.
I tried to install "XZDualRecovery] PhilZ Touch & CWM & TWRP" with no root mode, but nothing is changed

I'm using TWRP for my recovery. I believe you'll need to get an unlock code from the sony website for your phone before you can start rooting/flashing.
How to install (and root) Z1C
known issues for CM12.1 on Z1C
Note that my phone has experienced random reboots, about once or twice a day with CM21.1-20151008.
I tried to flash recovery in every mode God has invented but nothing: when I open flashboot i have evry time the same fu**ing message
"sending 'recovery' (8778 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.557s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.561s"
bootloader is unlocked, installed flashtool and relative drivers
Please guys help!
Sorry if I've posted in wrong place
Solved: I've repeated bootloader unlock procedure reported by Sony. Seems ok now

I tried, not fixed. For me wifi it's essential
I've made a Build for one of the older Xperia device. I compiled AOSP 7.0 and it does work well.
I have few Questions.
1. I want to add and remove some apps (.apk) to/from the build and I don't know how to do it. Googled and found a solution but it didn't worked. (placing apk somewhere with .mk file)
2. Also I want to provide USB OTG support to the device. Where should i look for this? Any location or something.
(OTG works if external power supply is provided)
3. And if I changed some of things of an app from the build, do i need to compile=>build=>flash and check weather it worked or not? or i do it with ADB kind of stuff? If yes, can i know the detail steps?
ANY kind of help will be appreciated.
Hi there,

It is Xperia ACRO S. Its final official update was Jelly Bean.
So, my Mi A2 Lite just decided to make 3g/4g not work anymore.
I was thinking of installing a custom ROM but I'm scared of that anti-rollback thing; you know, I'd prefer not to brick my device.
I was looking into HavocOS and POSP: my device is on Pie and has Magisk on it.
How can I install a custom ROM without bricking the device? (I need my phone, lol)
EDIT:
also, what about downgrading? I saw someone managed to do that but I'd like to be sure
EDIT2:
I just ran "fastboot getvar anti" and it gave me "anti: " with no value, why is that?
thx every1 <3

Hi, thanks for replying.
I saw those threads, but anti-rollback is not mentioned anywhere.
That's why I started this thread, to be sure that I'm not missing anything haha
So can I proceed with those guides without worrying about ARB?

Yes you can, just read carefully, cause my guide isn't perfect, but fixes for all issues cause by downgrading can be found on other pages
Hello friends,
I've been searching for a proper guide on how to root this device, but can't seem to find an authentic one.
I've rooted countless devices before, but the main reason I'm hesitant is that I can't find VBMeta and I'm not sure what to do with it.
So my questions are:
How do I surely root this device? You don't need to provide a full answer, just a link to a guide you trust will suffice.
What exactly do I need other than the ROM img?
What are VBMETA and Verity?
And finally, can someone confirm if this guide works fine?
Thank you very much, and a bit late but, happy new year!

step 1: Bootloader unlocking (https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html)
Step 2: Rooting (probably you don't need it,
)
VBmeta:
in short, flashing vbmeta.img basically disables the "verified boot".

No man, not much. devs can tell you more about this.
Of course, anything that respects user's privacy, provides better UX, secure & less buggy than the stock ROM you can try it. If a custom ROM provides all or most of these, you can surely switch to custom ROMs.
