Hi Folks,
Does this exist, or is it possible for a non-programmer to mod an existing APK to provide a Gingerbread Keyboard with the COLEMAK layout? If it can be done, does anyone have any links to any keyboard modding guides?
As I said, I am a non-programmer, but would be willing to have a stab if it is more of a case of modifying/substituting code rather than coding from scratch.

Hey guys,
Looking for some help guys. I love my Touch HD. I just recently flashed onkolog's ROM (superlite), and I love it. Problem: The keyboard he has in his ROM has the full keyboard and a phone keyboard. The ROM that I had before which I dont remember the name, had two letters on each key (and i think was called the compact keyboard), any idea, where I can obtain this keyboard?

Click to collapse
I have the same problem.
Not sure which keyboard he used but I assume by your description it's the EZInput one that everyone else is using and this is the info from that projects page...:
"These are the new layouts - only Phone Keypad and Full Qwerty, this time."
This might be something worth trying though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393722

Hi Folks,
I am replacing my keyboard on my AT&T Tilt, note I am saying keyboard and not the keypad on front of phone.
I have made one such post on this on xda already without much success in response, maybe because I couched the question wrong, not understanding what I really wanted to say.
So, here I go again.
I am looking to install a TyTnII keyboard on my AT& Tilt. I may purchase from here:
https://www.gsm4world.us/htc-tytn-ii-p4550-oem-keyboard-w-flex-d-01433_297.html
What do I need to do to make this keyboard compatible with my Tilt? I have seen threads talking around this subject but cannot get specifics on the TyTnII keyboard drivers (ROM) for use on the Tilt. I have seen some posts suggesting installing a ROM, but it seems these posts suggest flashing the Tilt with an entire TyTnII ROM, not just the keyboard ROM which I want to avoid. If someone has just such a suitable ROM - TyTnII keyboard ROM for use on a TILT, I would be so appreciative.
I have seen some posts suggesting editing the Tilt registry. But what do you use to edit the registry? I would prefer this option if the registry editor was freely available. Could someone please advise where I can find a regsitry editor for free or how else I could effect this? What is the correct registry edit?
Thanks all.
Hi guys, no more stupid questions, i hope
I have recently managed to get a GBC emulator working and i was thinking how much easier life would be if i could create a small keyboard that i could use to press.
Any ideas on where i could read up regarding creating a keyboard, or whether someone has beaten my thought process to teh punch ?
regards
You can create one by just developing a simple application that will be a tranparent form, without menubars, titles and etc. then add a tranparent frame on the place that you want the keyboard and put buttons or ImageBoxes as the keys.
Also remember to make the application OnTop
If you want I can suggest some tutorial to read about tranparency, hiding menubars and tiles..., but all in C#
Enjoy and Good Development!
sob sob sounds so intense
but yes tutorial me
im currently building an arcade machine though and im heading overseas and was hoping to have the little proggie downloaded from somewhere
but if you think its easy to make a little graphic representation of the keys of a gameboy and use that as my keyboard ... hit me up
First of all: Which language you use to develop for WM?
?
Is the code possible to right in c++?
Hey guys, I got my EVO like a month ago and almost immediately I rooted it.
I will like to know a way to add hebrew fonts to my phone.I saw that in the market they have an "Israel Pack" app, but the comments say that it replaces the english fonts for the hebrew ones and I just want to add it so it recognizes hebrew on a browser and also to use it on the keyboard.
I saw there is a way to do it on the hero(since I'm a new member I can't post any links) but is based on 1.5 I think and as of now Im using 2.1 "OMJ_EVO_2.1_Eclair_v1.6r" (I'll use 2.2 but the cameras are important for me) and I don't think that method will work in the same way for the EVO.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I've added the Dvorak and Colemak layouts to this modified LatinIME.apk.
You have to have root access to use this; once you have that, you can push it to /system/app. BACK UP /system/app/LatinIME.apk FIRST PLEASE.
I've only tested it on my own Galaxy Nexus (CDMA, running a daily build of CM9); if it doesn't work for you let me know what's up and I'll try to help.
If you have any comments or suggestions to improve the layouts, let 'er rip down below.

For what reason do we need old ugly keyboard with small keypads when we got this ?
