I made a nandroid in 3.0.0.8 and when I tried to restore in recovery, it came up with the message MD5 mismatch. Any suggestions?

If you're partitioned, you need to wipe the sd ext partition.

Also re-download the rom. Could have had a bad download. But yes, your wifi should work.

You would only lose an address if it were stored on the phone. if your contacts are backed up to google, they'll be there upon sign in. And yes, re-download, do a full wipe, then flash.

If you're currently using CWM, i'd flash the latest version, and then flash the rom.

I've been trying to backup via CWM but it starts and then it stops and goes to the menu.
Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, do you know the cause of the problem?

Nope, stock was nice and stable. I then used the froyo exploit (z8 or something?), installed rom manager and flashed the zip file from Unrevoked and was back to s-off.
