I have also been looking for hours for an equalizer that is compatible with the miui music player. Everything I try doesn't seem to work. I will let you know if I find anything.
Have you looked at power amp? It has a built in equalizer and amp. There is a trial version to try. I don't have MiUi so I don't if it for MiUi, it maybe worth a try. Good luck.

So I got some new headphones with bigger speakers than your normal "ear buds". With the volume at full it isn't very loud...
I tried getting one of the volume boost apps from the market and it made the sounds louder for sure, but the quality we terrible. Lots of static. Is there any better solution?
I tried the headphones on my computer and the sounds was way louder and quality was excellant.

The gingertiny kernel has audio boost built into it, and also other kernels if your not on gingerbread. You can find it in the dev section. Other than that an app is your only option.
Well you see they purposely limit the output on portable devices because kids listen to it too loud. So it sucks when you get a nicer set of headphones or hook up to a stereo and it has really low volume. Get a headphone amplifier but its another device with battery you have to charge and carry with you.
Bummer, not looking carry another device. I an on miui so sense kernels are no good for me.

Not sure but im willing to bet there is a non sense kernel out there with audio boost. Or mabey a kernel module to enable it.
I'm pretty sure Chad's kernel has audioboost and it's AOSP.

Yea I used to use Chad's but it's really buggy with miui. Maybe I'll try tiamat.

I just use DSP manager and adjust the eq up a couple db's...

Chad's has audioboost and it shouldn't be buggy with MIUI. What type of issues were you having?
Use poweramp?

poweramp was useful until I tried playerpro with dspmanager.....
Does anyone know how to fix beats, music app force close on FEARMEde b.5, getting annoying. And gallery as well.
Are you using head phones?
Well Beats is both a hardware and software combination. Since the Evo doesnt have beats audio hardware, i'm not surprised it doesnt work.
Thats strange I've been using B5 for the last few days with no problems. Beats only shows up if your using headphones (apologies if you already know this). Maybe try reflashing?
Yeah , tried on stock and with chopsuey

Hey all as the title suggests I'm on cm9 7/9 nightly. I've been playing with DSPManager for a while now (on other builds as well) and have yet to come up with any positive results. None of the settings in DSPManager have any effect at all. Is there some sort of prerequisite to using it? Any help at all is appreciated.

It appears we are the only two with the problem. Or the only two who care.

You aren't alone, because I too can't get DSP Manager to work. However, I can't get ANY apps that adjust the DSP settings to work on CM9. I personally have used AudioFX for quite some time on Gingerbread on my Galaxy S II LTE (called the Skyrocket on AT&T) and it worked fine on the OFFICIAL release of ICS from Rogers. However, it doesn't work on CM9. So the problem doesn't appear to be DSP Manager itself, but rather something in CM9.

How about the lack of kernel support at this time More than one thread on this, I read on yesterday. Though last time anyone really wasted their breath on the issue was around Alpha 3.

Figured it had something to do with cm9. The kernel not being supported makes sense. Should be rectified in the next couple days.

Tried it. Doesn't activate dsp manager. And what it does do I can replicate better with PowerAMP. And it doesn't affect in-call volume at all, which is what I was going for.
I just got volume+ from the developers website (full version for free) and it mostly works. There's a few ics bugs that they have to work out, but it does bump up the volume so I'm happy.

Has anyone else CONFIRMED that 3rd-party DSP apps (I gave the example of AudioFX, but you can try others) don't work on CM9 on the Skyrocket? So far I've not heard from anyone else providing collaboration of my observations. If you have an i727 or i727r running CM9 (or any other phone for that matter, seeing as this isn't even a Skyrocket thread), could you please install a 3rd-party DSP app and let me know if it works on your phone. Thanks in advance.

As said in my previous post, volume+ works mostly on cm9. It has a few glitches here and there, but it does increase the volume. I haven't had a chance to fully test it so I don't know what all is or isn't working.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
I believe the volume increase provided by Volume+ has nothing to do with the DSP chip. You need to test this on equalization, bass boost, etc. These are features provided by that chip.

Tested. EQ and volume control work for the speaker. Bass boost and echo/delay don't have any effect. Nothing works for bluetooth or headset. Oh, you can also change how many steps in the in-call volume. No volume boost though. For all this it would be better and easier just to use Poweramp. It works better.
The problem is I need equalization for all of my audio applications. This means that I need an equalizer that works generically rather than one that is built into a specific app. Virtually all of my music is played from Slacker Radio or TuneIn Radio, neither of which have built-in equalization.

Found a DSP fix for Motorola ATRIX 4G...
I play music via Bluetooth into car audio system and loved DSP in CM7.....I replaced joersaxx 1.3 faux kernel to stock 1.0....I found this link
and it worked like a charm!!! The first thing I noticed was it worked like in CM7 when the first menu was selection of output rather than straight to menu....I am going to try flashing a 1.3 kernel to see if it still works....
Thank you Yasir Idrees! I tried to post link....but I'm a noob!!! Go in to setting in /system/apps and set as per thumbnail.
I installed PA rom and found that the sound quality was rather compromised to a great extent. Then I found something called AwesomeBeats MOD. This worked well but comletely screwed the bass effect. The sound cracks when put on high volume.
Please tell me the aay to fix the same. Also help me uninstalling this mod, in order to get a new one.

Was wondering if there's a good sound boost with still clear good quality sound. I love music and I use my phone for it daily, over the headphones its fine but the speaker..nah. I have the latest stock jb and sense no custom kernel or anything do have root.
Kind regards!
