People widget on android 2.3 - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, i have flashed the revolution rom 4 and have the following question
I use a lot the people widget. All my contacts are google contacts and are automatically syncronised.
When i set a default action for a certain contact (any contact), after the next automatic sync the action is gone and i have to reset it again.
I have different groups in contacts which are linked to people widget, therefore suggesting to move the needed contacts to favourite group or starred in androir will no do.
Thanks in advance

Hi !
I have exactly the same issue on my HTC Desire S (S-OFF'ed, rooted and with the official HTC ROM for Europe (1.47.401.4)).
It is very weird because some of my contacts have the default action setting permanently set.
Maybe I have set their default action when I had my old (Orange) ROM and since the ROM change there is no effect at all ? I precise that the reset occurs only when there is a sync (auto or manual) of Google Contacts...
Kyrillos , have you installed a custom ROM like me ?
Do someone know a way to fix this annoying issue or have/had the same issue with other conditions (no ROM change?) ?
Thanks for your help !

Alright ! I found the solution after changing my keywords in searches (it is sometimes difficult for a non-english to find correct keyword to describe an issue ).
Anyway, here it is the solution : http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-743569.html

Is there a way to see HTC Contact Data on non Sense Roms?

Hi there.
Had Sense 2.2 (Leedroid) and had all my contacts synced perfectly with Facebook and Twitter, but now went back to DeFroST, but some contacts won't sync properly and I'm missing some pics, for example.
Is there a way (or a contact app) that I can use to be able to take advantage of the HTC Data field (in Notes, is it?) on a non-Sense Rom?
I searched the forum but couldn't find anything, sorry if it was answered before.
Thanks for any help!
I have this same problem and would like to know an answer. Tried searching, but couldn't fins anything.

Location of a calendar event.

Hello All!
I just sold my Desire and Got a Galaxy S and I am very suprised that when I have a calendar event with a location adress, I cannot launch navigation to go there.
I am sure that with my Desire, when I had a event with a location, I just clicked on the location and that was easy to go at this event.
Am I misusing my phone or did I miss something?
Thank a lot for your precious help.
it's indeed not possible. if you're rooted you could delete the TW calendar and replace it with stock
mhhh seem a good reason to root my device!
Any feedback on other people that replace the calendar app?
That does not give any issue?
Sorry to post again, but any of the people that tried Froyo rom may send me a feedback?
I would like to know if installing new software would allow me to launch navigation from a calendar event.
That's really important for me!
Thank a lot for any information.
in calendar app, how can I change an event to "not participating" without deleting the event. Its possible in Google Calendar and sync is fine but don't know how to do it on SGS. plz help!

[Q] htc sense link contacts

Hi
The fact is that the only thing I like from the htc sense is the way it links my google contacts with the facebook contacts, almost automatically.
is there a way to have that on a rom without sense?
Thanks!
In short, no. There are some apps that try to do this however none of them work anywhere nearly as well. If the contact has the exact same name as they do on facebook it will happen in stock by itself, however it is not as good.
Damn, just as i thought.
):
Thanks anyway!
hi
i'm looking for a software that can MERGE the contacts from GOOGLE,FACEBOOK and the phone itself in a single contact (preferably a .vcf file), instead of LINKING them with others.
due to this, now my DHD has 750 contacts instead of 380 initially.
can anybody refer me any app for this??
Sorry, i have no answer for this, but a small question that I thought it would fit in here, so theres no need for a new thread.
Is it possible to link your own contactcard to an existing contact/synch your own contactcard with google contacts?
I already had myself in my OS X Adresbook and Google contacts, as a result i had myself in double on my phone, so I copied all data to the personal contact card and deleted the old one, but it seems like this one does not get synchronised??
Any ideas to do this without yourself twice in contact list?

[Q] Contacts auto group issue on Cyanogenmod 6

Hi Folks,
I've just started enjoying CM6 on DHD.
But, I found the Android Contacts app in CM6 is grouping some contacts together:
ie. my three friends Johan L..., Johan S... and Johan T... are grouped into one single contact on the phone but they should be individual! ...when you look in Google Contacts online they are still clearly individual contacts.
I didn't see this issues at all with the stock HTC People app before mod'ing and can't see any setting to suppress this behavior. Am I missing something?
Anyone recognize this and can advise me how to solve it? Thanks!
Rob
Ok, fixed it myself:
Downloaded CM6 again and did a fresh flash.

[Q] MS Exchange sync-Contacts Birthday in Format yyyy-mm-ddTHH:MM:SS.000Z /to early

I changed from HTC original ROM and Leedroid (at least HTC build) to cyanogenmod.
If I use the native MS Exchange support I got two issues:
1. I can't edit Birthdays of my contacts
2. Birthdays in contacts view are one day to early. They are also displayed in format like
yyyy-mm-ddTHH:MM:SS.000Z (actually the time seems to be fix: so yyyy-mm-ddT22:00:00.000Z)
In Systems settings I have set up the date format as dd.mm.yyyy as it is common here in germany.
What about users in other languages? Do you have the same issue if you work with original android code base? I had the same by using enhanced email which is build from the android source.
I can deal with number 1. Number 2 is annoying. I also use TouchDown, but it doesn't integrate with native calendar or publishes an API to access the calendar data. So that's why I would also use a native solution.
Had someone here to deal with the problem above and found a solution?
edit:
I also changed my timezone to see if it has an effect, but it changes nothing. Maybe the date just can't be processed.

I have got exactly the same problem and am trying to find a resolution for it.
However, so far, no luck.
I have the same problem with all my HTC devices (Desire, Wildfire, Sensation). I also sent e-mail to HTC support and got this answer:
As far as I can see this is happening on the android devices.
I would say that the only solution to this would be using third party application for the exchange mail.
News?
Any news regarding this issue? I am suffering also (Motorola Defy).
Same problem
I have the same problem (SONY ERICSSON XPERIA PRO).
