Hello there,
I have recently installed TomTom 3.01 with GPS update 3.07 and now I cannot connect my BT headset Bluetrek G2 anymore. Before the TomTom install everything worked fine.
I can still pair the headset using the setup wizard, but when it comes to finally connect it I get the error message "Failed to connect".
After hard reset and restore of system before TomTom install all works fine again. Seems to me TomTom somehow blocks the headset-profile.
I spent days reading through all the posts here, but couldn't find any answers.
If there's anyone out there who can help, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

You could try installing bttools.
Thanx for replying. I have installed bttools from this link http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html , but it doesn't seem to do anything. It just appears on the today screen, but none of the buttons has any function. My guess is it only works when the MS-Bluetooth stack is installed (like on the Himalaya), which by default isn't installed on the Blue-Angle. But thanks for trying...
Cheers
Hi all. I have a HTC Desire rooted with unrevoked3. Phone runs sweet as except bluetooth. I can enable bluetooth graphically (the checkbox ticks and after some time the bluetooth logo appears on the status bar). However, if I cannot chance the device name, make the device discoverable or scan for devices. Nothing happens.
The kernel gives errors such as:
Code:
<3>[ 71.632263] hci_cmd_task: hci0 command tx timeout
I am currently running CyanogenMod 7.1 RC1, but this problem exists if I run other ROMs too. I've gone back to the HTC RUU to verify it's not hardware and bluetooth works fine there. So I dug about some more.
There are many posts relating to bluetooth problems on rooted Desires, but none appear to be line mine - Still, I tried some recommended solutions anyway. The issue of a 'USB brick' sounded a possible cause, but I followed through the solution (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639) and got no further. I am sceptical as to if I modified the misc.img file correctly, as I don't know how to find my current ROM version (it's not under About The Phone).
I would really appreciate any help. I've been nosing about looking in '/sys/devices/virtual/bluetooth/hci0/' were the bluetooth stuff resides. See here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/23500-bluetooth-lack-of-functionality/#entry217041 But this isn't just a Cyanogen problem. The only way I can restore bluetooth functionality is by letting HBOOT re-flash from PB99IMG.
I am not an expert in this, but I have read quite a lot and have a good idea of what's going on, but this has stumped me. I am very fluent in Linux. Any help you can give would be greatly received.
EDIT:
I notice that from the stock HTC ROM, I can root the device with unrevoked3 and Bluetooth still works. Then as soon as I do anything with ClockworkMod (version 2.5.0.7) it appears to break Bluetooth.
I dumped the misc partition from the stock HTC ROM while Bluetooth was working, and tried to reflash that to the misc partition once Bluetooth broke in Cyanogen - It didn't work: using flash_image on the rooted phone, it appears to work... it doesn't actively fail... it doesn't say anything, just returns (exit 0). Using fastboot flash misc mtd0.img results in checksum errors, etc and does actively fail.
Any advice would be greatly received please?!
Kind Regards,
George Smart.
With Windows 7 I am unable to transfer/receive files over bluetooth with Defy. Have tested with Windows XP it works fine. If anyone have a solution for this please share.
Note:- Mods - I couldn't find any topic specific to this issue hence created a new thread. If required please merge it.
Try bluetooth file transfer app from market. Although both native pair and using this app work for me in Win7 sometimes i have to use the app ^ to get things going. Also delete your pc from bluetooth settings, delete the device from device manager in win7, try to pair them again. As win7 has so many issues with drivers, it's a common error. Also make sure the bluetooth adaptor driver (if any came with it) is installed properly /last version and not some Win7 generic driver instead.
Hope i helped and it works.

I too have some issues with the bluetooth. The speed seems to be very slow. Also when sending multiple files most of them fail. I've tried sending files to different phones. Same issue.

@Deonix ... thanks and I tried all these steps still I am seeing two Bluetooth Peripheral Devices with "!" mark in the device manager and unable to send/receive files. Will keep searching for a solution and update this thread if I find it.
Hello everybody,
I am using ARHD since v9.x (don't remember the exact versin number) and moved to JB as soons as it was released.
Since ARHD v17.0, I experience bluetooth heratic connectivity to my car phone system.
My OneX and my car are paired but it takes more and more time to have them connected.
In v17.0 it took about 3-5mn to connect, this morning, with v18.1, it took about 20mn...
I tryed the following :
upgraded the firmware to 1.39
"superwiped" and re-installed ARDH 18.1 rom
cleared the bluetooth entries in both the phone and the car configs
No improvement.
Is there an issue in the BT module since v17.0 ?
Does anybody else experience the same issue ?
Well in two words : "help, please !"
Thanks in advance.
No one else ?
Come on guys, no one else experiences the same issue ?
I'll try to investigate further by myself:
Check the car BT system with anoter phone
Check the phone with a BT connection to a PC (I don't have another BT headset)
Install another custom ROM, e.g. cyanogenmod
Revert back to the original HTC ROM
Well, several tests later... Still facing the same issue.
If i erase the BT profile from the car audio system and the phone, then re-associate them together, the connexion occurs within 30sec !!!
then shut off the car and switch it on again... Both the car and the HOX are trying the connect for several minutes.
I will try to reset the phone when the new version of ARHD (18.2) will be released.
Checked BT connexion between HOX and a PC and another phone
-> connection : ok
-> stop / start : ok
No pb found on HOX side
Checked car with 2 differrent phones (wiko cink slim and lg gt505)
Car does not find any of them...
Even when I stopt any BT connection from the car interface, the BT system retart the phone search...
I'll have to call VW...
So, there is no bluetooth issue in ARHD 17.0 .. 18.1
Unfortunatelly, I have an issue with my car

I carelessly uninsalled the Bluetooth Share in the previous old rom. I then installed the unrooted official rom WW_2.20.40.184_20160504 via USB. Now the Bluetooth Share kept failed to be enabled. I rooted the phone and put the previously backup "Bluetooth.apk" which is at 1.5MB file size to the "/system/app" folder and restarted the phone. However bluetooth kept not working. I have tried putting the "Bluetooth.apk" to "/system/app/Bluetooth" folder with restart, but it didn't help. I've wiped cache in recovery mode, but nothing helps recovering Bluetooth.
I cannot factory reset it since I've lots of data. Kindly help me correctly reinstalled the Bluetooth driver soon please.

There is no reason not to factory reset. Make a backup first, either on micro-sd, or on a otg-mounted usb stick.
If your data is that precious, it does not belong on a phone alone, and should certainly be kept safe. Especially when using nightlies. Flashing Rom is one sure way to lose things you did believe to be safe.
Bluetooth pairings can be impossible to restore. Sometimes the key will not be recognised by the receiver, and needs to be re-initialised. That means: forget pairing on both sides, and re-connect; establishing a new key that way.

Really wish to migrate to ZF3 directly without redoing everything for now. Thanks broomer68 for the details.
