Hi, this is probably a really simple question, but I can't seem to figure out how to mark stuff as a Favorite so that it'll show up on the Favorites app tab. I've discerned that you can favorite/bookmark both forums and topics, but I can't seem to do this either from the app itself or from the website (desktop web browser). Any ideas?
Long press any topic, a menu will pop up
Also, in the subforums there is a 'gray' star, click on that and it will add that to your favorite topics
Ok, so I just realized that favorites are the same as subscriptions? If I subscribe to stuff from the XDA app, is it going to overload my e-mail inbox?
Not sure, I have notifications turned off, I dont get emails from xda
just what I was looking for! thanks!

Hi guys!
Anyone who knows how to mark all items in the mail inbox to select then set them all as read? It is possible to make a batch deletion, but cannot find any way to do this in my Desire!

+1, funny thing is that couple minutes ago i was wondering the same as finally configured my hotmail acc :S
what i do is click at top email and inside it i quickly click on the arrow down, isnt hard and works pretty quick hehe
Same for the RSS feeds as well if anyone can find out!
Guys I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it on a search of the forums.
When I go into the "ME" profile in the People app and click on my picture I get my phone number, Gmail, Google+ and Google Talk icons show up but no Twitter. If I swipe to the right again I only see updates from my Google+ account but not Twitter. Twitter is synched to my phone and I have looked in the "edit settings" on my profile but there seems to be no option to add it.
Any clues ?
Thanks
Anyone ? Surely some whizz out there must know the obvious answer to this (clearly not so obvious to me).
Thanks in advance.
Unlike HTC Sync the stuff pulled is just from google+..... Same as the FB app doesn't sync to contacts.
Danny
Danny I'm a little confused. I see the Twitter option in others profiles? Was the Twitter & Google + feed in the people app not touted during the Nexus launch ? I'm pretty sure it was.

Go to the People app, pull up the menu, and select the "Contacts to display" option. Click the Twitter option (it'll have the twitter icon and your twitter name) and it will list all of your twitter contacts. Find and open the contact you want to make a connection with, pull up the menu, and select "Edit". Then click Menu, "Join". Find the contact to join that twitter handle to, and you're done. Then just set your "Contacts to display" option back to whatever you had it at before.
Yeah, a little convoluted, but you only have to do it once.
BTW, there is a new twitter app that integrates nicely with your contacts now
This seems to be done for me in other contacts... but in the "ME" contact it doesn't. I just have the "discard" option and displays my google+ feed in the place of where the twitter is displayed in other contacts..... now I'm confused
Danny same goes for me. The explanation given above does not solve my issue i'm afraid though I am grateful for the reply. If I select twitter from the "contacts to display" it does not show my twitter name, just those I follow. On the ME tab it shows all my other personal details for other services so it should also show the twitter feed as well?

Yeah, you're right; I didn't realize you meant you wanted your OWN contact to have the Twitter updates. Apparently the Twitter app doesn't synchronize your own account as a contact, and there's no way in ICS to specifically add that connection, as far as I'm aware. Maybe they'll add that in a future update?
Ahhh ok,thanks Copkay. I thought I was going mad and missing something.

Sorry for digging out old thread, but I have similar issue and I thought there is no point in making a new one.
In people when viewing contact that has twitter integration I can see in "Connections" (or something similar, I have different language set to default) "Twitter" and "View Profile" (again, or similar) but I can't do much with those two. Taping twitter does nothing and taping "View profile" results in message "Could not download tweets. Try again latter". Is it normal? Is it supposed to "work" like that? I use stock Tweeter app on stock 4.0.1
Any feedback appreciated
Is there a way to do so?
Specifically, I mean my last google searches, browser history and market searches.
I just found options to clear existing histories, but no entry to prevent logging new ones.
if you're trying to hide your tracks in specific instances, you could use an incognito window in the browser to search including the android market. Then everything goes away when you close that window. But if you mean always, then I don't know.

Yeah, I mean the same settings I have in my Notebook's Firefox: Simply don't even start a history. Or when I tap the Google Search window on top of the screen - don't give me my last searches.

Try this.... Open Google Search... Menu -> Settings -> Google Search -> Uncheck Use Web Histroy
Yup, tried that already. I'm at the moment not even logged into my gmail account. It still gives me my last searches below the google text field on the home screen.
Just to be clear: I don't mind that "instant search" which autocompletes, but the storage of my last searches bugs me. It's the same in the market.
I wonder if this is related to a recent article ibsae on yahoo news about Google saving your history .
I deleted it all and paused it through Gmail on my desktop. However I believe this is something different but regardless ibwoukd check that yahoo news article. When I have a chance I'll get link for it

Here it is. Although I read a different one. This one says on Android that if you already signed in your outta luck?
I realize you just don't want it popping up but this is why maybe??

I don't think it should affect the OS itself. Remember, I'm talking about the search bar on the home screen, not the browser.
It is possible to delete the search results one by one by tapping the X on their side, but there is apparently no option to prevent the search bar from creating the entries in the first place.

I had the same issue so I downloaded 'Beaver' by Crowbar Solutions (free and paid on the Market) which is now my browser and basically saves absolutely no trace of your browsing history. The browser is pretty much the same as the stock browser and I have the paid version of the app so was able to set my own homepage to google, etc.
...and I just realised you were referring to the search bar on the homescreen my confusion sorry. I don't use that search bar so can't offer a solution.

I'm posting this on behalf of my boss, so please don't shoot the messenger in case the answers are something obvious. I don't own a Note II but I'd appreciate the help.
The boss would like to know two things:
1. How do you handle Exchange tasks using the Note II? He needs to be able to look at outstanding tasks, assign them, etc.
2. He uses Inbox sub-folders extensively. Is there a way or an app which lets you quickly see all unread emails in the Inbox and its subfolders?
Thanks, appreciate it.
The stock email app does let you see all your sub folders and access and move them as needed. As far as the task while I dont do much with this I do a little here and there and the stock email Syncs with all that also

Thanks for the reply.
I understand that you can see the sub-folders but what he's looking to do is to be able to see all unseen messages ONLY in all sub-folders in one view. I think you can understand the issue.. he's got, say, 15 sub-folders with hundreds of messages in total but only, say, 30 messages which have been unread, all scattered among 15 sub-folders. He's looking for a way to see only those 30.
As for the stock email app, I run a Galaxy S III so my guess the email app would be similar. I don't see a way to manage tasks. You sound like you know how to acccss the tasks.. can you give me the steps or tell me in which area of the email app to look? I see no mention of tasks anywhere.
Thanks.
New G3 owner here, been hacking my Galaxy nexus for 2.5 years. However, this is a small issue I've run into, and hopefully someone knows about it. The email widget defaults to, and as far as I can see, only allows a 'combined inbox' view. I have two email accounts but really only want the widget to monitor the work email. It used to be when you started up the widget, it would ask for the view you wanted, but now it just drops on the homescreen showing combined inbox. Anyone have any idea about how to configure it? Is it still possible?
