Does anyone have a problem using root explorer with cm7 r2? It force closes evertime I open the app.
I've wiped and re wiped everything a few times and same result. Works fine with other roms.
Thanks!

Thanks for ur info!
I've never had an issue with Root Explorer in CM Roms. I use it regularly. This tells me that it might be a permissions issue. Make sure that in Superuser your Root Explorer has su permissions.
Always use root explorer here with cm7 no issues.

Try deleting cache and setttings and try again.
Or do fix permissions from CWM recovery in the advanced menu

Try app cache clearer, most likely the system cache has overflown and everything force closes, you can easily fix it by cleaning the cache, keeps your phone fast!
Did u tried to re-install the google apps?
Taking this down for now, I have a rom coming out tonight
Hey all, some of you may know me from other sammy forums. I currently don't have a galaxy s iii yet, so am limited to what I can do in terms of development at the moment, but would like to release some build prop tweaks for you guys to get things running a little smoother.
The build.prop is attached at the bottom, just unzip and adb push to /system or place it there using root explorer and change permissions to match the existing file.. Enjoy, I will have more to come soon
For the latest lf9 Update.
Awesome to see you here! Used Blazer on my SII right up until last month! Can't wait to see whats in store.

If we place it there with root explorer should we unzip it first? or place the zip there also?
Edit: Should we reboot the phone after adding this to the system folder? How is it activated? Thank you in advance
Unzipped, moved to /system, and replaced file. Tried a reboot but no dice. I suggest you know for sure that a mod is going to work before you post. No disrespect

Did you change permissions? And what do you mean by no dice? Won't boot? Don't notice a difference? Phone runs worse?

Phone wouldn't reboot at all, and if the permissions needed to be changed why wouldn't the OP say something about that?

Probably just forgot. For future reference, It's something you should always do when replacing a system file. Change permissions to match the existing file.

I placed the build.prop file in the /system directory and gave it a reboot. My phone didn't show the boot animation. Wouldn't boot at all. I had to restore from a nandroid.
I used root explorer. Perhaps it can only be done using adb?

I am posting here because I wan't able to post on the ROM page. I am a long time reader but have, for the first time, found a question I need answered that I haven't been able to find by simply reading. I am running a JB Rom (4.1) and this particular rom came with Google Chrome as the default browser. I want to keep the Rom but install the default Android browser. I have downloaded the apk and moved it into my system apps but I can figure out how to get it to install. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks.
You need to make sure the permissions are the same as the other system apps and then reboot.

Root explorer or es file manager find the /system/app should be browser.apk then hold on it and select properties and change the permissions. Should be the first row completely checked then the next row should only have the first two checked.

You are rooted, right?
Use any file explorer out there and delete the desired .apk files from /system/app/. The apps'll be permanently gone!
