FAQ
What is apps2ext?
Code:
Apps2ext (previously called apps2SD) moved all user installed apps to a secondary ext partition on your sdcard.
This method had the advantage of being straight forward and simple, However, it had the drawback of being difficult to set up.
This method is no longer officially supported by CyanogenMod.
Please see the forum for device specific work-arounds if you really want apps2EXT on CyanogenMod.
Why did I include a apps2ext script to the rom?
Code:
Even though we have 1GB space of internal memory and a lot of the G2 users believe that is enough.
The more apps that are installed, the slower our phones can get after time.
Apps2ext takes all of that stress from our internal storage and diverts it to our sd-ext partition if there's any.
This results in our phones never have to worry about slowing down just because of the number of apps that we have installed.
What is swap?
Quoted from Cyanogenmod Wiki
Code:
Swap is, in short, virtual RAM. With swap, a small portion of the hard drive is set aside and used like RAM.
The computer will attempt to keep as much information as possible in RAM until the RAM is full.
At that point, the computer will begin moving inactive blocks of memory (called pages) to the hard disk, freeing up RAM for active processes.
If one of the pages on the hard disk needs to be accessed again, it will be moved back into RAM, and a different inactive page in RAM will be moved onto the hard disk ('swapped').
The trade off is disks and SD cards are considerably slower than physical RAM, so when something needs to be swapped, there is a noticeable performance hit.
Unlike traditional swap, Android's Memory Manager kills inactive processes to free up memory.
Android signals to the process, then the process will usually write out a small bit of specific information about its state (for example, Google Maps may write out the map view coordinates; Browser might write the URL of the page being viewed) and then the process exits.
When you next access that application, it is restarted: the application is loaded from storage, and retrieves the state information that it saved when it last closed.
In some applications, this makes it seem as if the application never closed at all.
This is not much different from traditional swap, except that Android apps are specially programed to write out very specific information, making Android's Memory Manager more efficient that swap.
Requirements:
- HTC G2 / HTC Desire Z
- S-OFF
- SDCard
Recommended Requirements:
*Only need this is you plan to use sd-ext and swap*
- Sd-ext partition at least 1024MB
- Swap partition at least 256MB
I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ANY KIND OF SUPERWIPE
The rom has it's own built in wipe
Installing Process
- Backup your previous rom
- Repartition your sdcard ONLY if you want sd-ext and/or swap enabled
- Download the rom
- Wipe everything (data, cache, dalvik-cache, battery stats)
- Flash the rom
- Once flashing process is complete it will auto reboot!
Working
- Everything should be
Not Working
- Nothing, but tell me if anything is broken
Issues
- None at the moment
REGARDING ISSUES

why does it have to be a blame game at all, guys? Seriously, we are all big boys and girls. If someone makes a mistake, they need to own up to it and fix it, not blame anyone else. All that does is cause bad feelings in the community. You guys are both awesome, and I believe we can all get along in peace, and learn from and help one another, to the benefit of the whole community. Sound like a plan, guys?

Question... is your rom based off of CM? If it is, why shouldn't he be able to say the same thing you just did... The best way to get great roms is by sharing and expanding. That is why CM is so great, it is a contribution from many people!

Yeah he's rom is based off of CM, but it doesn't matter anymore actually. I'm already working on a new release based off CM#17, along with the chance of better things

30/Jun r1 (JFB) - MoDaCo Custom ROM for Samsung Galaxy S with Online Kitchen

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know. wink.gif
This ROM is the 'starting point' for my Galaxy S custom ROMs.
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, YOU MUST ALREADY BE RUNNING THE JFB ROM FROM HERE. Do NOT use this ROM with any other base, unpredictable things will happen, the most likely being you'll have to reflash your device via Odin.
Features Included
* Based on the JFB release
* Rooted with Superuser 2.1 by ChainsDD
* Built with the MCR build process which reduces the size and boosts the speed of the ROM
* busybox with Droid Explorer support
* Updated Google Maps
* MCR version displayed in 'About' screen
* Optional Google Voice Search
* Optional Google Voice Dialer
* Optional Fancy Widget
* Optional Beebplayer
* Optional baked in Wavesecure via the online kitchen (installed to system partition for maximum security)
Changelog
Please see 2 posts below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
* Ensure you have the JFB ROM installed (linked above)
* Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card named 'update.zip'
* Restart your device in recovery mode by running 'adb reboot recovery' (download adb if you do not have it already, use adb-windows, adb-mac or adb-linux as appropriate)
* Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is currently only available in the online kitchen - prebakes to follow.
Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
And finally...
If you would like to show your appreciation for the ROM, please consider supporting MoDaCo by signing up for a MoDaCo Ad Free or MoDaCo Plus account, both of which also give you early access to Beta ROM releases and access to the the online kitchens.
Enjoy!

Does this ROM fix the ram issue so that all 512MB of ram is utilized?
Congrats on being the first custom rom here.
Congratulations! I don't have a phone yet but I am very pleased to see a custom rom already!
woohoo custom ROMs already. Guess I'll be getting myself the phone after all.
umm.. but in another thread people where saying that it wasn't gonna be possible because samsung encrypt their drivers etc. so this mean they did release they drivers? and there is gonna be alot of custom rooms for galaxy gravity?

No I said it would be near impossible to get roms from other sources like Sense roms or Froyo on because of the driver issue. I never said you would never see custom roms. The only roms you are going to see are one's based off of Samsungs release.
Hold on, hold on. So even though Samsung released the Galaxy S' driver source code to the public, it's going to be "near impossible" to port Sense and FroYo to the phone? I may be ignorant but I'll just ask with ignorance, how do you figure?

Download the source code..... ok now open it and go to GalaxyS_Kernel.tar.gz. Now in there just enter the first folder then go to modules. Go to Dpram. Open up any of those files in notepad. You should see written non-compiled code right? That is fine now go back to the module folders and go to S3cbc. Now open up s3cbc_module.o. Does that look like non-compiled code? No it doesn't. It's either already compiled or encrypted. That's what I mean

Quick question, does that mean any custom rom that is release will be based off the official rom they release which has Touchwiz backed in? If so, does that rule out a plain vanilla android rom for this device? Thanks for your help and appreciate the knowledge.

No it doesn't rule out plain vanilla android rom. Yes they will all be based on Samsung but rom makers can take out all the touchwiz garbage and throw in another launcher like adw or Launcherpro.
That's what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the help. Now if I only could decide if I should keep the Nexus One or purchase this phone..... Decisions, Decisions.

So they can easily be decompiled? If it's source code why is it already compiled?
dont go too deep into specific things that we may not even need (we are not coders here) but the source code for basic hardware that we need to get things going are already there.. things like camera, wlan, etc. btw, do u know what s3cbc is for?

What about s3clcd? Here is a little copy and paste of some of the garble that was in the compiled file
screen width=%d height=%d va=0x%x pa=0x%x
I would go out on a limb and say those are video drivers. The one's that have been encrypted on all other samsung phones.
Also in s3cbc there is some code at the bottom
PVRSRV_PIXEL_FORMAT_YUY2 PVRSRV_ERROR_FIFO_SPACE char ui32ByteStride psDevInfo PVRSRV_PIXEL_FORMAT_PAL1 PVRSRV_PIXEL_FORMAT_PAL2 pfnOpenBCDevic
If you don't know the Galaxy's gpu is PowerVR SGX540 and YUY2 is a colol format for video screens
http://www.fourcc.org/yuv.php#YUY2 and Pal is of course a European video standard.
they are not encrypted, they are object codes in machine language for arm.. and why we need that again for custom roms?
Wanted to test modaco ROM but they are not free.. Any kind souls upload and share ?

How much free ram have you got? Considering flashing and rooting, but not sure if it's worth it right now. Meh 10£ isn't that much think I'm gonna give it a try.
EDIT: Just flashed, but now I don't have root access(says access denied when I try to access the /data/data folder). Thought this included the rooted PDA file or do I have to flash that again with odin?
EDIT2: Scratch that I forgot to press the allow-button on my phone after sending the Super-user request..

[23 JAN] gauner1986's Z-FI 0.1 (Desire Z based) [KERNEL = my own :)]

Hi guys, i'm back from exams with a fresh and funky release
This is the latest version of Desire Z Sense FRG83D - 1.72 (very close to stock). Basically everything is working and I have been using it for a couple of days now.
Speed should be WAY better than on Desire HD ROMs, but still not as fast as stock Desire, comes close though. Costs are some additional trash menu options, like the one for the hardware keyboard and no arrow keys on the on-screen keyboard.
Focus in this ROM is on battery life, free space in NAND and to be close to stock.
I have squashfsed some directories, which saves a lot of space. (Desire Z ROMs are a bit lighter than HD ones, because of the less capable hardware, but still space hungry). Finally got it down to use only 200 MB + (6MB free in /system, because mkyaffs2image does strange stuff), which means you will have ~230MB of storage space available for your user files (if you use the partitioning layout I supplied with the DFT flasher and depending on if you chose to use the EXTROM area/last 24 MB of NAND space in MAGLDR - if you have a TMOUS LEO you will of course have more). This is more than enough in my opinion, no need for apps2sd so far, but i may add it in the future.
You will be able to "overwrite" the squashfsed stuff in lib, framework and app, because i just used deep symlinking there.
Things i have removed (i can remember..):
Maps (it's an outdated version anyway - download a new version from Market)
eReader stuff + eBooks (takes 50 MB or so - WTF, not worth it)
Some commercial stuff
Most of the included wallpapers
All skins except Slate
Notes:
This ROM comes as ODEX-ROM, because that again saves a lot of space, which would otherwise be taken twice (once in davlik cache and once in /system/app / system/framework)
My own kernel is included, based on the latest linux_on_wince_htc git. It has the SMARTASS and INTERACTIVE governor, as well as support for CIFS and EXT4 (for those who need it)
Of course this ROM comes with RMNET enabled. My version of the libhtc_ril_wrapper allows you to choose between PPP and RMNET by file. If /system/ppp exists (create it with touch /system/ppp) then PPP will be used, otherwise RMNET. RMNET is working quite well, so i would suggest you use that.
If you want notifications working, install Led me know from market. I had battery drainage issues with it, so i removed it.
Known issues:
Currently none
Version 0.1 -> Multiupload
Important:
To all those having trouble flashing the ROM with Cotulla's flasher
Please go to Cotulla's thread and ask for help there, this is not the place for this.
Instructions taken from Cotulla:
1. download MAGLDR
2. download NAND Android ROM
3. Install MAGLDR to your LEO (ROMUpdateUtility.exe)
4. Boot LEO and select in the menu "4. USB Flasher"
5. Run DAF.exe on your computer. Do all steps.
6. Wait while it's flashing.
7. After flashing device will make auto-reset.
8. It should boot directly to Android.
9. If any errors happens, please report in Cotulla's thread, which is here.

* mdeejay: for supplying me with userspace stuff.
* Markinus, LeTama, Rajko and all the other great devs from #htc-linux who contributed
* Everyone else I forgot
Tell me your suggestions for improvements on this ROM in this thread please, not in PMs

And of course buy Cotulla a beer, without him we wouldn't have come so far in that little time!

welcome back! your DHD was a big hit to me. will flash soon
Hey gauner1986, any chance of a non-squashfs'd, non-stripped build for those of us with T-Mobile US devices? Or is it possible to de-squash it ourselves?
The only thing I don't like about the Z series is the rotating homescreens. When they rotate back to port, it's like reloading all the homescreens from fresh and it takes a while. There's always a lag for the screen elements to appear. That's one reason I don't use the imilka Vision ROM and have been waiting for an updated HD.
thanks gauner.. i will download it now ..but please i need u to think to build one on glacier it is more looking and stable
Great TNX,

[ROM]Orange Glacier [v2.0.0] -Stock Variant on EXT4 - Faux123 [May-15-2011]

Re-Introduce Orange Glacier 2.0.0
The reason I created this ROM is NOT TO COMPETE with anyone else, it is mainly for myself. I wanted a light weight ROM that's STABLE and FAST but I also wanted to try something slightly different.
I WON'T BE Updating this ROM unless something is Seriously WRONG with it...
(I WON'T BE taking FEATURE REQUESTS and such, most can be added by yourself from various mods found in the Theme and Apps sub forum )
So here it is: Orange Glacier ?!?!?!?
Why the name:
Because ClockworkMod Recovery (3.0.0.5+) for Gingerbread is colored Orange for EXT 4 partitions and since this ROM uses EXT 4 File System (FS) as its primary FS, I decided to name it this way.
So what is in this Orange Glacier?
1. Completely rebuilt from Stock Image
2. Uses exclusively EXT 4 FS
3. Moved all optional Apps to /data/app partition for easy uninstall (including most Google Apps)
4. Rooted, /system set to RW by default
5. Deodexed, Zip aligned all /system/apps and framework files using ROM kitchen from fellow XDA member.
6. Dalvik memory boosted from default 24MB to 36MB
7. Few CFS tweaks
I want to Thank the following:
TeamSilence for inspiring me to start it all,
Pack for the awesome battery mods,
dsixda for the easy to use ROM kitchen (highly recommended to anyone interested in cooking their own ROM, it CAN'T be easier than what he provided)
Installation:
The File ==> Orange Glacier Version 2.0 <==
WARNING: The INSTALLER WILL ERASE ALL USER DATA AND SYSTEM DATA!!!
Requirement: MUST HAVE CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY 3.0.0.5+
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Wipe Cache Partition
3. Install zip from SDCard
4. Once installation is completed, select Reboot System Now
Note: Upon first reboot may take up to 4~6 mins.
The following pre-installed Apps will need to be updated MANUALLY from Market by searching for their names:
Google Search
Youtube
Google Maps
T-Mobile MyAccount
T-Mobile TV
Qik Video Chat
TwonkyMobile
Google Street
All Built-in Games (Monopoly, NFS etc)
or they can all be easily un-installed because they are NO LONGER System Apps.
History:
[ Version 1.0.2 ] (Froyo Based)

There's nothing special about this ROM.. It's mainly stock with the tweaks I mentioned in the OP...
stock is good for my battery i need battery more than fancy animations and all this gingerbread stuff
Sweet! Downloading now. Thanks Faux!
BTW, are there any known bugs/issues Faux?
Everything you have done is so amazing, so everything you do, we would pay special attention~~Tky Faux!!
nothing wrong basically itsstock with a few additions like battery mod and lil visuals here and there and speed up alot i dont feel no lag at all everything works idk bout ffc on qik cause my girl dont have but evrything is good to go
Well, this ROM gives me the best data speeds i have ever had. Unfortunately, every time that i reboot, it erases all of my screens. not sure why and OP says no support for this ROM. So i guess i will flash something else. It pains me to have to give up the data speeds.

He actually stated no support unless something serious is wrong. That seems pretty serious if happening to others as well. I would love to load a "de-bloatwared" stock image with good speed and full functionality. I can't wait to hear more feedback on this one.

just when I thought I was done with froyo forever. thanks faux, i feel OBLIGATED to give this a run.
Welcome to the ROM side of life Faux.
awesome!
Very excited to see faux grow as a dev I support faux's work 100% and cant wait to see future projects. CHEERS ---Team

[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the HTC Hero (GSM) :: V7.1.0 (9 Oct 2011)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
First time flashing CyanogenMod 7 to the HTC Hero (GSM), or coming from another ROM?
Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 7?
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Flash CyanogenMod (your Google Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).
Issues?
Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
Please use Pastebin when possible.

I guess were skipping CM8?
I had some problems with GAPPS and Market working correctly at first. A reflash of the GAPPS package solved the problem. I know with some other ROMs doing a reboot between flashing the ROM and flashing GAPPS helps to avoid similar problems, so might be wise to do.
Otherwise, everything is looking good so far. I like the new lockscreen.
Good job! i am using this ROM. faster! the kernel is 2.6.29, why not use 2.6.35?

After playing around with the 35 kernel, I think 29's battery drain is more reasonable.
Although the slightly performance advancing is not noticed by me...
Does this rom support a2sd+? Thanks!
is there an option to change the screen density to 140 DPI? I tried a patch from the VanillaEclair thread, but this causes a loop at the bootanimation. The circle completes one full round and then freezes, causing the animation to start over.
Any advice please?
EDIT: I'll just use LCDDensity then
Thanks for the 7.1.0 Stable, working great till now
Again having bug with video on 71-st minute!!!!!!!!!!!!
another issue i have is that the market indicates google maps is incompatible with my device...
EDIT: Seems to be related with LCDDensity. I can install it if I set it back to the default value of 160. Weird...
I have issues with SIM pin code with stable release and nightlies, does anyone have same issues here?¿?

because it's an official stable release. the .35 kernel hasn't reached official stable release yet. the .29 kernel did reach that point a long time ago.
If you want groundbreaking tech, don't use this rom. if you want stable and solid and cool stuff compared to the stock hero, use this rom.
cheers
---------- Post added at 08:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:05 AM ----------
official cm roms do not come with the following hacks:
- ext based apps2sd
- dpi changing
- launchers other than the free stable version of adw
- kernels other than the current main stable kernel (which is the old .29 kernel but highly modified of course, either it is fly13 or is very similar to it)
if you want this rom but with cool addons and extra features and a sexier/faster/smoother launcher and more active xda-based support, use elelinux cm7 3.5 (or later). it's the same basic rom but with his cool UI mods, a2sd, and so on.
Elelinux is the official gsm hero cyanogenmod developer anyhow so you know you're getting the best of the best with his cm roms
But this is certainly a cool rom if you don't like ext partitions or smooth launchers. I tried it and it was solid and stable. I prefer ele's 3.5 rom though for it's extra features.
Interesting reading about how so many Heros' are affected differently.
What really surprised me was that when I installed Ele CM7-3.5.1 and doing a full wipe of all over GOku 1.3e, Ele's rom booted up with all my apps including all Google apps, right at the the first boot???? I was amazed, never having this happen to me before.
Anyway, I have tried most of the latest roms, mainly GB and Froyo but I just keep coming back to GOku 1.3e or VE6.1 because I have also found odd things happening on the other roms. They all excell at doing most of the stuff that I need from a working 'phone. These things do take time and the developers really are amazing.
VE6.1 for blazing fast and stable and GOku when I need better sound for music.

Only way that can happen is if you didn't wipe ext partition. In cwm recovery that is automatic. In amon-ra you have to do it manually every time. Although in this case it wasn't a problem since they were similar gb roms so compatibility issues didn't affect you.

I had the same experience with flashing Ele's 3.5.1 over Goku's 1.3e. Apps were the same, even email was setup for hotmail. I figured I'd missed a wipe but am pretty sure I'd done it. I generally wipe twice between new roms, but perhaps I'd missed something. I use cwm every time.

[DEV][PLEASE_CONTINUE][Sense 4.1]Common Sense

Well, here we go...
This is not the way I wanted to post this thread, but fate was stronger than me
Guys, I spent last several months working on a stable Sense 4.1 base for our HD2. I succeeded in a lot of things. I got BT working. I got mic working in applications. I got this damn thing running smoother than my wife's Galaxy S3 (I'm not kidding)...
So, yesterday my HD2 died on me. For the second time. I can't afford to fix it anymore, I don't have neither time nor money for that. Mainly time... So, unfortunately, I have to stop the development right here.
Someone, please take it from here. It would be a real pity for me if this ROM died together with my HD2.
Guys, as you can see further in this thread, someone donated a fully working HD2 to me. Just like that. For free.
If you ask me, this is an act of an incredible generousity.
Thanks a million, Legion.X. I'm still to find a way to thank you.
Let the development continue!
Introducing Common Sense 4.1
link to ver. 0.2:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/75m6jwtcq28gg8u/CommonSense41_next.zip
please test and comment.
previous versions:
ver 0.1: https://mega.co.nz/#!WhpRzJQa!DOdybh...6N52mPTfNkXk1k
what works:
* full Sense 4.1. almost everything works. daily driver.
* silky smooth, as good as native. flies at 20-30FPS with live wallpaper, probably around 60FPS with still wallpaper
* fast and snappy.
* sound recording works. voice input works. BT works.
* full 3D Rosie
* live wallpapers, Sense lockscreens etc.
* EXT2 over YAFFS loop (works automatically out of the box)
* should be snappier than ver. 0.1
known problems:
* it does reboot randomly from time to time. I'm looking for ways to solve these... looks like we'll end up recompiling libs from source.
ANYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE AND/OR WORKING ENVIRONMENT TO RECOMPILE FILES FROM SOURCE, PLEASE PM ME. My goal is to take gralloc sources from CM9 and adapt them for sense. but I don't have linux and don't have the toolchain set up. I'd appreciate any help with this.
* probably won't work in full NAND on TMOUS. anyone who wishes to participate, please try to install on TMOUS without sd-ext and report what you get. logcats are most welcome!
* WiFi router doesn't work. Custom routers from Play Store should work.
* Video shooting works at 15FPS. Don't know if that can be fixed... for me 15FPS is fine anyway
next steps:
* hopefully fix some of the crashes
* fix terrible lags during initial configuration and in the setup wizard
* improve Rosie (I know how to make it even smoother )
* try crossbreeder
* install XPosed framework
* please suggest more things to improve!
installation:
* BACKUP!!!
* IMPORTANT: you need CWM 3.0.0.6.. Other recoveries may or may not work. voronkov_pavel reports that CWM touch recovery beta 8 does not work with this ROM.
* REMEMBER: for Data On Ext, keep your system partition small! philliped364 reports that 55MB works just fine
* install Common Sense from recovery
* reboot. the first boot will take a while (although it's waaaay faster than in other ROMs thanks to odexing). should boot in 2-3 minutes. if it doesn't boot within 10 minutes, please report
* wait for the lockscreen to appear. DON'T PULL THE RING YET!
* make some coffee. let your HD2 settle down for at least half an hour
* pull the ring to unlock. if the setup wizard does not appear immediately, don't touch the device for another half an hour. if the device reboots by itself, please report.
* complete the setup wizard. it will lag. please be patient. DON'T SIGN IN TO YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT YET! finish the wizard and let Sense load.
* wait for two minutes and reboot
* let it settle down for another half an hour. it will optimize the databases during that phase. don't try to work with the device. it will lag terribly.
* unlock, go to Settings -> developer's settings, scroll down, disable "force GPU rendering"
* reboot
* your device should be fully functional now. now go to Settings -> accounts and sign it to your google account, email and whatever you like
big thanks to Legion.X (for sending me his HD2 for free), philliped346 (for his immense help and making my ROM nativeSD), saurabhrendale (for his incredible animations), Mr Evil (for letting me kang sound files from his EvoHD2 ROM), ckpv5 (for letting me kang Sense files from his MyOneDx ROM), dorimanx (for his kernel), RobbieP, ya5, aazzam16661, Daekin and many, many others for helping me out.
Some technical details about the ROM:
Config: Data on Ext, DB on NAND, looped over EXT2.
System: mostly taken from other Sense 4.1 devices, proprietary files taken from several half-working Sense 4.x ROMs flying around here. Sound system taken from EvoHD2 ROM (yeah, CM9). Credits to Mr Evil for these files.
Kernel: Dorimanx 7.2 HWA (credits to Dori please)
Framework: stock Desire X ROM as a base, heavily modified to work with CM9 sound system, heavily optimized for smoothness.
Sense: mostly myONEdx RC4.0 FX+ ROM. Rosie modified by me. Some files taken from stock Desire X ROM.
A word about kanging:
my goal is to create a stable Sense 4.1 base for HD2. feel free to kang anything you find here. just please PLEASE give proper credits. don't forget the guys who gave me some of the files: Mr Evil (creator of the EvoHD2 ROM) and ckpv5 (creator of the MyOneDx ROM)
NOTE for DEVs:
I was stunned to discover that DISABLING HW acceleration makes scrolling silky-smooth in 99% of the applications. Exceptions are: Rosie, Browser and... uh... that's it, I think. So, I REVERSED the way framework enables HW acceleration. Here's how: if the application doesn't request HW acceleration, it doesn't get it by default. If it requests it (HWAcceleration=true in the manifest), it DOESN'T get it either. If hwAcceleration=false in manifest, it DOES get it. This way, I only had to modify Rosie and the Browser and set hwAcceleration=false for them to actually GET the acceleration. The other apps just denied the acceleration natively. Please be aware of this change
Enjoy.
Report bugs.
May the Force be with you

Sense: stock Desire X ROM. I've got permission to use MyOne ROM (see Desire X forum), it has full 3D effects enabled and runs smooth as silk on HD2 (it's pretty damn smooth even with live wallpapers!)
What should work:
Everything. I know that WiFi router doesn't work, but that's it, more or less. Video shooting works at 15FPS. Sound recording works. Voice input works. BT works.
Known problems:
It does crash from time to time. Needs more work on system files. I was planning to recompile gralloc from CM9 to use it here, but didn't have the privilege to finish that.
For EXT2 loop to work, one needs to add creation of an empty data.img file in /Data/Data folder. Make it as big as possible. Format it for Ext2. The rest will be done by init.rc
............. Well, that's it. I'll be watching this thread. Don't ask me to develop anything though, I can't do anything without a working HD2. Sorry guys and good luck to anyone who will take it from here.

For system crash could be kernel fault... I remember when I tested dorimanx kernel each release was never really 100% stable independently from clock frequencies.
II test this rom of dungphp with tytung kernel (thank to all) and this is the same with sense 4.1 .
wifi/3g , camera , bluetooth , sound work .
camcorder don't work and google play work with uptades but can't instal news applications.(fixed instal apk

it's a very smooth rom and if someone can fix this problems .

if you're using my ROM (I couldn't figure this out from your post), and use my initrd, then you have to make your system partition as SMALL as possible. Most of system files are relocated to EXT4.
For camcorder to work, copy it from any CM9 ROM.
Sense camcorder tries to record at 30FPS, which doesn't work with this version of stagefright. CM9 camcorder records at 15FPS and works flawlessly
