Hey all,
I have an Alltel HTC Desire, which came with 2.1. Rooted with unRevoked3, so I have ClockworkMod 2.5.0.9. (Yep, I've search around, which is how I was able to get this far, though it seems no one else hits these issues)
I'm having issues getting various CDMA ROMs to load. I've tried [1]CM7 RC2, RC1, latest two nightlies, and none of them have worked. (Following the guide here[2])
The first time I loaded CM7 RC2, I got to the CM7 loading screen, but it just kept looping over and over. At that point, I loaded the latest [3]radio and tried again. After I install their zip (every version I listed) from sdcard and reboot the device, it just hangs at the provider (Alltel) logo on boot.
Then I tried CM6 (6.1.1) - that eventually worked and booted fine, but GPS couldn't catch, alerts (txt/calls) didn't go, and despite loading the correct [4]gapps, the Market app never showed up. :-(
The backup I made of my rooted stock 2.1 stops on the Alltel logo when I restore it, too. Generally I can restore the CM6.1.1 backup, but I'm getting nervous.
Any thoughts? What is everyone else running on their Alltel Desire (radio, ROM)?

OK guys here’s my problem. I think that I have done something to my G1.
On seeing a load of vids on YouTube I went ahead and started to install the hero rom on my G1, I also used an xdathread to help me out
The process went install RC7 root it, install RC8 then install cupcake ADP and a new radio thing then install the hero rom
I did RC7>RC8>ADP fine then info was a bit thin on the ground for the final stage and the video wasn’t that well organised and I started the hero process from the wrong video and ended up deleting the recovery img that had been used to root my G1 and was present during the RC7>8>ADP install I then set about installing the hero rom holding power and home it started on the process and then aborted because something went wrong. I panicked and wiped the phone and put it back to the stock RC7.
I then had to re-register the phone with Google but the phone couldn’t communicate with the Google servers.
This is when I 1st thought something was wrong. I then used adb to bring up the wifi settings window to get passed the Google window. Since getting past the Google screen it says T-Mobile as my network but it doesn’t say 3G up top and I can’t send, receive texts or go online and I could before I started the Hero rom install.
Can anyone suggest what could be wrong?
Cheers
I've had my Desire rooted for about a week now and was previously running leedroid 1.6a and various other roms perfectly, I updated to leedroid 1.7 and the phone just froze on the Telstra splash page (would come up before the Leedroid splash intro), took the battery out got into recovery and wiped clean and installed adam g's 1.0c rom and same thing, so far i have wiped fresh and tried 3 or so different roms multiple times and nothing fixes it, it can stay on the screen for about 15 minutes before i get the ****s with it and pull the battery again.
I did reload the Telstra stock RUU from HTC and it loaded up fine and worked perfectly, i then rooted again and tried loading up another rom (adam g's sense 1.0c) and back to being stuck on the splash page.
any ideas?
thanks in advance
edit:
ok so managed to do a nandroid restore from my previously working backed up 1.6a leedroid rom and the ****er is still freezing on the telstra splash page.
WTF is going on
OK..loaded the the original stock unrooted 2.1 Telstra rom again and all is fine, rooted clockworkmod with unrevoked3 (was using Amon RA previously) and it is loading the stock rom fine. Flashed open desire sense froyo 1.0c and the new radio and it hung at the telstra splash once again. Went back into recovery and restored the stock Telstra rom using nandroid and it loaded up.
Still got no idea what is going on? Using the RUU Telstra rom which unroots it is basically starting fresh again right?
Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster....unfortunately....
So after sitting on MIUI for a good while, and having a blast with it, I decided to try out some other ROMs. I was interested in seeing Cyanogen 6, and so I went about attempting to get the latest stable, non RC ROM onto my EVO. I read into it seeing that I needed to downgrade my hboot, and found the image without a problem (running the .76 right now, had the 9something one before...)
Well, I downgraded my hboot without an issue, flashed the Cyanogen, and got into a splashloop. I figured out it was becaue I hadn't wiped my cache or data before flashing the rom, so I went into the Clockwork Recovery and wiped those, flashed once more, and it booted into Cyanogen perfectly!
Well, almost. I don't have 3G now.
For some reason, I am unable to connect to 3G no matter what I try. My nandroid's broke due to the hboot downgrading, rewiping the cache/data and reflashing cyanogen did nothing, and now for some reason, when I attempt to go back to MIUI, it still will not allow me to connect to 3G. I can send and receive texts, and make and receive calls, but alas, no data connection.
Should I get a fresh RUU and stock hboot, upgrade and restart from scratch? I just want to get back to MIUI at this point with a working, data enabled phone.....
If that's the case, that I do need to start over, where can I find a new hboot for the EVO that isn't .76? I'm pretty saavy when it comes to this stuff, but for some reason right now I just can't figure it out....
HTC EVO running MIUI v0.11 stable
.76 hboot w/ Clockwork recovery
Broken nand backup
whatdo?
Thanks in advance for the help
Sorry for the double post, but I resolved my issue.
I am unsure of what exactly went wrong, but I figured it was somewhere between downgrading my hboot, and flashing the CM 6 stable ROM that my 3G data got scrambled....
So! Using ROM Manager, I made a backup of my working (non 3G) MIUI image, and flashed the Odyxed version of the RUU found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836728). After flashing in Recovery, it booted into SenseUI, and worked like a charm!
My 3G hath returned, and issues have been solved. It's nice when you're able to fix things on your own, though I couldn't have done it without the help of that handy dandy search button, and the RUU keyword
Oh, yeah, and I guess xxbabiboi228xx as well.....maybe....^_~
Hey guys, I've looked at other threads but I just can't seem to find the solution. I've installed the new Cyanogenmod. I've installed the ROM and when the phone reboots, I keep getting the 'Touch Android to begin'-screen. No matter what I do, nothing works. I've done full swipes, reboots, tried to only install CM7 (where before I had the Radio and Google Apps as well). Nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
First give some info:
what recovery are you using
s-on or s-off
what hboot - bravo or cm7
how is your sdcard partitioned
i was using CyanogenMod 7 and never got problems.
So, your phone works normally but every time you reboot you have to do the setup from beginning?
Or, does it freeze on the "touch the Android..." screen?
Hello,
I've got a branded HTC Desire. I rooted it with Unrevoked, created a Goldcard before but since I've only got one SD Card, I now use it as a normal SD Card, it certainly dismissed it's "gold" propertie I guess...
I wanted to install a MIUI rom, so I first went for the MIUI_Au ROM one of my friends has. As a consequence, I've been following their instructions. But, being unable to download their rom, since their download links are dead, I went for the UK version of the rom, as well as the MIUI-XJ ROM. I wiped everything, reseted the phone to the factory thing, then installed the radio version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2. The Recovery didn't recognize it so I had to desactivate the signature check. After that, I rebooted, and tried to install the UK MIUI. After installing it, I rebooted the phone, but then it got stuck on the MIUI screen (where you have, at the top, "MIUI" and "Android ROM" written under, in chinese, and waves at the bottom at the screen). At first, it stayed on it, so I waited, since I read it was slow to boot the first time. But after around 3-4 min, it started to blink black every 10 seconds, as if it looped on this screen. After 10 mins I recovered my backup and erased the ROM.
I tried the same thing with this ROM, the MIUI XJ, but I got the same result at the same time. I also had to untoggle the signature check as well.
I don't understand where the problem comes from, but since I got the same on two roms, I'm starting to think I forgot to do something and it blocks the booting of the ROM... Any idea ?
Thanks.
Try a newer radio. No issues here. (check signature)
Yep, I also recommend to flash newest radio.
Miui roms
Install this radio 5.17.05.23 for miui roms. I'm using miui roms ( i've tried all version) and i have no problem...
