I'm having an issue after making calls using a Motorola H710.
I turn off the H710, go to use the phone normally and the volume is very quiet.
You can turn it up full and barely hear through the earpiece or the rear speaker.
After a reset everything is back to normal.
Anyone else experiencing this or have any solutions?

Hey,
I originally had my HTC Desire rooted but recently I reverted back to stock (Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed). Since then, I'm having some problems hearing the other person when I make or receive a call but they can hear me fine. The front speak does work because when I dial a number or listen to music, sound comes out of it. But during a call, I have to switch to loud speaker to hear! I've even rooted the phone again, flashed several different ROMS, reset factory settings, changed to CM7/r2 Hboot and updated the radio to the latest (32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23) and yet the problem still persists!
Does anyone have any idea what the cause of it maybe and a solution?
Cheers,
Daniel
Well the in-call sounds come out of the front speaker.
On the Desire, all music and sounds come out of the rear speaker, as do phone calls when in loudspeaker mode.
It must be something wrong with your front speaker.

Yeah you're right. It's okay, it's still under warranty. I'll just take it back to the shop! thanks!
Currently using MIUI-XJ 1.12.30, there is no sound during calls unless I use the speaker phone. Adjusting the volume while calling shows that it's on headphone mode when the speaker phone is off, but no headphone icon is shown on the status bar. Plugging in a headphone during a call allows me to hear the dial tones and voice through the ear buds, but removing it during a call does not solve the issue; nothing can be heard from the phone again.
Music and everything else involving external speakers work properly.
Any light you guys could shed on this issue would be much appreciated.
I have exactly the same problem with MIUI_Au 1.12.30 on my HTC Desire. My symptoms are exactly as described and I've tried the same resolutions.
Upon reflashing other ROMs (CM7 and Sense) the problem continues to persist.
In the worst case scenario, it may be a broken internal earpiece. Does anyone know if flashing a different radio will have any effects on this issue?
Hi
Since today my mic only works on calls when I have speakerphone turned on, well at least people can hear me a little when speakerphone is on. They cant hear be at all when its not on. I have played around with mute button when on a call with no luck.
OS Version: 4.1.1
Baseband: I9250XXLF1
Kernel: 3.0.31-g6fb96c9
Has this happened to anybody else?
Thanks
Brian
The mic has frustrated many of us!! Put it back to stock and call Verizon for a replacement. Make sure to back your phone up before anything else!!
I had it happen to me a few days ago.
Thought it was hardware related but then found that the mic worked on speaker phone.
Flashed back to stock JB.. no change
Flashed back to stock ICS and it worked again. With that the ICS updated to JB then I put CWM and back to CM10..
It has been fine for a few days except about 3 days ago I had an issue with the phone showing it was charging when it wasn't plugged in. Had to do a full wipe and start again. Now I am back on euroskank CM10 nightlies
I am on stock and I am in Ireland so phone is GSM version of phone
I have only got the OTA updates since I got phone and I didn't root it
I got JB update a few weeks ago and issue only started now
Is it possible that one mic is used for speakerphone and camcorder, and the other is used for standard voice calls?
See, I have the opposite problem... standard voice calls work fine, but speakerphone and camcorder record no sound. Lots of flashing alternative stock roms, with no change.
Is it possible the noise cancellation mic is used as the primary microphone for camcorder and speakerphone? I've heard that a speaker can also be used as a mic... is that being used? I'm considering replacing the flex cable with the standard mic and USB charging port, since the part is only about $6. Is the noise cancellation mic on a separate, cheap, easy to replace part as well?
I keep my Bluetooth radio running all the time. No problem there. But whenever I'm in vibrate mode (or silent mode) and then turn on my Bluetooth earpiece (Motorola Elite Flip, if it matters), my phone reverts to normal mode, which I don't want.
This is new behavior: before, the silent/vibrate/normal mode would just stay unchanged, just as I wanted. I've done quite a bit of troubleshooting: removing certain apps, rebooting, retesting, checking ROM- and kernel-specific forums, etc. No clues or suggestions so far.
The only thing I've found to make a difference: if I go into the Bluetooth pairing for this earpiece and deselect the phone audio profile, then this problem goes away. (The earpiece has two profiles: phone audio and media audio.) But that does me no good, as I use this earpiece for most of my phone calls.
Has anyone encountered this before? Any solution? Any workaround?
I have the GSM version of the GNex. I'm running Android 4.1.2 with MiNCO 5 and Franco kernel 300.
Thanks.
I returned to stock in Moto G5s and since then the audio is in trouble, I start to hear something (both notification or media) and nothing to run the audio, I restart the cell phone and back to normal and after a time the sound stops again, can someone tell me if this bug has to do with the flash I gave in stock or it could be problem in the same speaker?
