is my battery drain normal? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello, i just tried this tuto
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755903&page=4
but could not do it several times as described in the tutorial...
i charged the desire while it was on until the led light turns green... then i powered it off and charged it.. the led light became green after only a few minutes... so i powered it on.. and then switched if off.. put the charger but led light remained green.... so couldn't repeat it several times as described in the tutorial...
then i started using it... i lost like 1% every 1.5-2 mins of internet browsing... is that normal??
playing games like super mario on tigergba for 1 minutes drains like 1% of my battery..
is that all normal? so overall after 10-15mins of use (internet and gaming) i lost like 9% to 10% of battery... normal?

YMMV depending on conditions like what software your using, what's running in the background, live wallpapers, updating widgets and radios... Can't really say whats normal, my phone lasts about 2 days with just Bluetooth (car), three email accounts downloading every 5-15 mins and a few other things. Either carry a spare batt or change your usage.

no live background and wifi always on... that's it.. i am not even put a sim card on it yet... so not using gsm..

Is the phone/batt new? May take a while for it to reach full capacity... Also, you could try re-calibrating the batt through AmonRa.

what is Amonra? i have put my sim card on it... yes the phone and batt are new. have used it a couple of days now(about 8-9 charges in all now) and i lose 4% of batt after 2hrs and 07mins of phone on (and about 21mins of wake time)... without doing nothing... only standby.. everything turned off, wifi, bluetooth, everything.. i just want to know if the battery consumption is normal?
p.s. i also have a static wallpaper and my brightness is about 10%
4% of battery consumption in 2hrs of standby seems ok right?

To check ur battery usage, put a sim card in it and leave it in idle (Wifi off, data off and auto sync off) and No call/sms.. just locked and idle and you should lose only 1% per hour... if you are losing more like 3-4% every hour, then some process running in the background is using up the battery..
Use this as a measure to check your battery drain.. It always works for me

yes i Tink the battery is the cause

ok so 2% par hour is too much? i have everything off with low brightness and no live wallpaper.. i have advanced task killer and task xp and swipe panel running in background... maybe they are the cause?
update:
up time : 4:24:50
awake time : 0:29:05
battery : 95%
have done nothing apart just look at my contacts, navigate through menus and browse image gallery
The battery consumption seems right for me but i not really sure as it's my first smartphone

2% is not abnormal. 1.5% per hour is alright.... What rom are you using and have you overclocked with setcpu??
Edit: and a small advise.. Dont use task killers to kill off apps. Let them be. Just exit from an app using the back key. Use task killer only in an extreme case where an app hangs up. Otherwise android will take care of apps just fine.
and enjoy your smartphone... I try to use it maximum and charge every morning.. it is a beautiful device

If you use advanced task killer that could be an explaination for higher batterie drain. If you use android 2.2 or above then you don't need it.
Also do you have amoled? If you have a white screen showing on your phone your batterie drain is much higher then with darker colours.

ok thx for the advice. i am on stock froyo. I have set auto kill on advanced task killer.. i should disable it? and any good app to switch between apps? i am using task xp.
update : 5h45mins of standby and 6% of battery drained. about 1% per hour.. hence i think it's normal thx the advice anyway

HTC Desire Battery Life

I have a question regarding my battery life. Yesterday night at 10:00 pm i played +/- 40 minutes on games like Angry Birds and used my 3G connection for about 10 minutes. My battery dropped from 100% to 61%. When i didnt use my phone (just idle mode) @ 11:46 pm i wanted to check how much battery i had left today in the morning (10:00 am) ..... it whas completely dead 0% .... i have this phone since august but if i knew the battery life whas so crap i would have picked another device.
Is there a way to improve it ??? since i read in diffrent topics people can use their desire for 2 days without a recharge.
- Not rooted
- Froyo 2.2
The HTC Desire is a smartphone running powerful mobile OS and a lot of additional gadgets like GPS, ...
So comparing battery life is impossible.
You can get a battery life of a mobile phone/week if you use it like a mobile phone: No GPS, no data, no playing games, no surfing, just occasional talking. So the battery life is normal and good, compared to mobile phones.
But normally you use it like a smartphone, thus you use it daily, play some games, ... which results in a battery life of a few hours (navigation) up to two or three days (moderate use), with an average battery life of a day (heavy use).
However, one thing for sure: Something is wrong with your phone.
This dosen't mean something is broken, rather you use an app/setting, which causes the battery drain, so you did something wrong, you're the failure, not the device!
Playing a game drains the battery fast. The display is on, probably max. brightness and the CPU and GPU is working like hell. It also gets warm, so you can feel the increased power consumption.
In sleep mode however, it should consume much less than it did for you. Maybe 2% each hour.
So to find what app you've installed or what app you keep in the background running, install a program like Android System Info and take a look at the task list, CPU load should be around 10% if you wait a few seconds and do nothing.
Take a look at the running services (android settings, applications, ...) and check if you really need all of them or if an app is active which you don't use. Then don't force close it, only idiots do this, rather open the app and deactivate the service (like automatic updating)
Next option: Test the battery life again. Maybe an app crashed and caused the increased power draw and now everything is working fine again and battery life is normal again. Then it's impossible to find a culprit with Android System Info.
Also tell us what settings you've activated: GPS/Wifi/Data/BT/...
This is happening because, some process not letting your device to sleep..!!
All you need to do is type *#*#4636#*#*
and check the battery history ,you'll get to know which process is using your battery, and remove that application.

Brightness is already said to medium, i also turned of those life wallpapers and it still drains like ****. When i look at the battery status it says battery life is good. Maybe a application that is running i dont know, ill try to find it out. So far i have a few apps installed which i rarely use.

Thanks will check it out and see what it does now in idle mode.
Idle mode 01:28 pm starts now, will post results in a few hours.
Edit: It's 02:00 pm here and i already lost 4% battery, its 96% now , i did *#*#4636#*#* and checked battery status and it seems wifi is in full use 99.7%. I will turn this off but what about the 3G connection
Edit2: It's 2:24 pm here and the battery status is 92% now, i reveived +/- 4 emails in that time. I checked the status in battery indicator pro and this is what it says
Android system 37%
Mobile Stand-by 22%
Phone inactive 15%
Wi-Fi 15%
view 11%
nothing else......i am really lost now.
Is my battery damaged/broken ? .... how can i reset/callibrate the battery ? or should i contact the shop where i got this phone from for a new battery ?
don't worry, lots of people are having bad battery lifes, and angry bird drain your battery really quickly, so it is quite normal, especially on AMOLED desires.

Yeah i have AMOLED
PS: After 30 minutes without touching it the battery is still 92%.
you could install setcpu and set profiles to save battry life
Might try that.....but after 1 hour the battery is still 92%.....i guess wifi drained my stuff down all the way as i am pretty sure i turned that thing of last time.
i will do some more tests later....
Edit: After 1 and half hour the battery is still 92%, guess the stock rom isnt that bad .

Tested the battery last night and must say i am happy with the results
10:00 pm yesterday the battery whas 60%, today i looked back @ 11:24 am and the battery just dropped with 10% (3G is on), i didn't touch the phone since then.
Stock Rom / Froyo 2.2
The battery drain came from wifi
I wrote HTC about the battery and they just sent me a brand new one So now I have 2 batteries and I think I'm happy DD
You can check your battery usage with a widget called "currentwidget" (search for it on this forum)
Usually on SBY with radio ON my phone drains from 3 to 4 Ma and 2ma in plane mode. (sounds good with a 1400mah battery)
In heavy usage, it can go anything from 150 to 500ma (ie: playing game with wifi ON)!!
For nice graphics, try to install "battery snap" too.
From HTC themself:
“To also help with Battery Life you can do these steps exactly:
1) Turn your device ON and Charge the device for 8 hours or more
2) Unplug the device and Turn the phone OFF and charge for 1 hour
3) Unplug the device Turn ON wait 2 minutes and Turn OFF and charge for another hour Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well“

A known problem with the new update of the HTC Desire to Android 2.2 Froyo is battery life. How users have experienced the change is highly variable. Several said that battery life has improved, some even talk about a major improvement. The others have had problems that the phone charges from a fully charged battery several times in one day. If you have experienced such problems, there are measures, some simple, others more complicated and time consuming. Below I list things you can try, the lightest at the top.
# 1 Look what it's drawing power. Go to Settings> About phone> Battery> Battery usage or enter * # * # 4636 # * # * on the keypad and look around a bit. Is there anything that seems abnormal, or any program that seems to be the culprit, uninstall simply the application and see if that helps. While you can uninstall applications you believe is in the background and drag the cream from the phone's battery. Some applications may slip into the "Android System" in your battery history.
# 2 Uninstall system control and task killers. Advanced Task Killer and similar programs do more harm than they help. It is unfortunately only to realize this and stop using them. Android is an OS made for having many applications driving on the background. The operating system puts himself applications you do not use the idle to conserve battery power. Different programs that measure your performance on the phone, for example, Task Panel never sets in idle and therefore system resources continuously. If you have such software installed it may be time to consider uninstalling it. More on why the task killers and Android do not go hand in hand in to read this article by Android developer Dianne Hack Born.
# 3 Clean your home screen. It can be a good idea to try if it helps to clean up your Home screens from various widgets.
# 4 Do a soft reset. Discharge the battery completely (not that the phone is turned off), turn off the phone manually, remove the battery and reinsert it, restart your phone and put it on charge. This may have some effect and provide an improved battery life. Such a restoration known as a soft reset and should be tested before you do a master reset (hard reset).
# 5 Do a "hard reset". Have you done all the methods above are still not noticed any major difference? Then it's time to do a master reset of the OS. HTC have said they for some users might went wrong during the update to Froyo causing poor battery life, and when it is easiest to do a reset to get to grips with the problem. Although Android automatically sync contacts in the "cloud" so it might be a good idea to make a backup of your contacts (Contacts> Menu> Import / Export). Note that when you do a hard reset resets the entire phone, including messages, settings, themes, installed applications, etc. These are not the contents of your SD card. There are two methods to restore your phone, do a google search on "hard reset desire," so there are many simple guides. After restoration, the idea not to install any applications you had installed before. Install the programs one at a time and not too many at once.

[Q] Is it normal

Hi guys,
I'm all new to Android, having previously used the TG01, moving to DHD is such a right decision and honesty think i may not use winmo ever again.
However, I notice something weird (or at least I think it is) one of which is my free Ram at boost is only 3xx Mb. Considering I have 768 Mb RAM, am I supposed to have around 700 Mb at boot??? or is that the way Android work??. Also note that I use Advanced task killer to see that number since I don't know where to know my available free Ram (noob?). Do you guys have the same amount of Free Ram at boot?
Lots of apps like yahoo messenger, internet browser.. which I do not how to properly close them (I press either home or back keys). They keeps running in the background and even after using advanced task killer to close them, they are amazingly still there. Do I suck or again is it how Android works.
Also, after 3 full charging cycle, unplugging at 7 am, having around 30 mins gaming, wifi on all the time but sometimes not connected, 3g all the time, Yahoo messenger running in background, some mails (not automatically syncs), messages, calls and about half an hour web surfing, it rests in peace at 4.30 pm. Is it normal or Do I have faulty battery. Forgot to mention I set back light at 30%.
Again, if the thread duplicates please accept my apology. I did do some search but have not found info I need. I'm all new to android so any help would do.
Cheers,
Hi,
This is how Android works. Task killers are a waste of time, your phone will use more resources just loading the apps back into memory.
As for the battery, do you need to keep wifi on all day? There is your problem. Turn it off.
Try JuiceDefender from the Android Market. You will certainly notice a battery improvement using it.

Well, the DHD in all its awesomeness is always gonna miss one thing:Good battery life. Not because it sucks much power or something, but the battery is the smallest I've seen on a high-end device, and, considering the huge screen(which uses from 60% up to 85% of the battery),it won't do really well. However it's not so bad either!I for one, after some charging cycles(I have it about a month now)get much better battery life.Taken off charge at 8am,usage varying depending on the day(eg I don't use it much at school),I still have enough battery at night(around midnight)to play some games for a while and listen to music.Brightness is always full! Can't accept lower with this screen!

No No Noooooooo
With JuiceDefender activated, wifi on occasionally, 3G and Yahoo messenger all the time, 1 hour game, about 30 mins calls and some text, my phone was dead after 10 hours.
Really depressed, I read in battery thread this trick:
Quote from santu001
The official battery trick from HTC tells us to first charge 8 hours or more, then 1 hour while off, boot and let it settle for two minutes, turn off and charge another hour.
I'm on the fourth day since i've done this. After i did this, i deactived all appkillers (advanced taskkiller i.m.c.). Letting the system balance itself as quoted in one of my earlier posts.
I'm on the fifth day after calibration now and have 35% left after 21 hours since last plugin. I didn't turn off anything. I can see through current widget log it's still been very active from -3ma till -30ma in standby, no spikes though. For now i'm getting increased batterlife.
Default phone battery monitor results
Juice left 35%
Screen 39%
Mobile standby 20%
Phone inactive 18%
Speach 7%
Wifi 7%
Android system 4%
Android OS 3%
com.htc launcher 2% (Even though a lot of apps still loaded in BG)
Does anyone try that one?? Does it really improve your battery life (i do not understand the logic though)
keep in mind also, 250mb of ram is dedicated to adreno as vram, so the device only has just over 500mb of usable ram

Be patient young Padawan!
On my Diamond(good old days...well,maybe not so good! )the situation was about the same and it took the battery a little more than a month to give me its full potential. This might be the case here too.Don't judge it just yet.Except it's faulty of course!
Anyway, there is always a chance that a badly coded app is doing something nasty with your device. You might want to install system panel(very useful app, both one of the best task killers I've used and a really good system monitoring app) from market. It will show you if any app is using your ram or cpu too much.If one does, try uninstalling it and see what happens.
Hope you solve your problem!

[Q] Battery issue on Wildfire S

Hi,
after running for 15 hours, one phone call for 2 min, and about 8 sms
and nothing more still remain 45% from 100%.
is that normal or it is something wrong?
wifi, gps, and bluetooth are off, and not many apps are working in background.
no livebackground or something else.
it seems to me, it is very less for such a phone, or I am wrong?
or are there some settings, which need to set to have a longer battery live?
thanks
Hi,
I saw that the dialer use 97% from the Battery! I had the whole day one call for 2 minutes.
is there someone else with such dialer usage?
thanks

I too am seeing that the dialler is using 97% of battery with only one short call made. However, I have so far and still counting got 3d 18h out of my first battery charge. (This is a new phone) This is with everything turned off mind you as I wanted to see the best time achievable with only phone functions active. Once the battery is run down I will re-charge and turn internet on etc.
It's funny that you too have "97%"??
very strange.
could someone post a normal state, how it supposed to be?
thanks
Hey i think you people don't know how the battery use calculate the battery usage in Android.
This is how it calculate
Suppose you had power on the phone then and you are using 3 apps like
1.dialer
2.wifi
3.display
then from above 3 which is the most used app the battery usage will give it more percentage.(But you will not see any 97 % if you are using 5-6 activities)The more the number of apps the less the percentage of each Activity.
The region why you are seeing 97% on battery usage about dialer is that you are using only dialer nothing else.If You use use gallary, wifi, bluetooth, calls, maps etc all together then battery usage will show you 15 to 20 % in each.
To increase battery life calibrate you battery.(let the battery discharge once and recharge it without power on and without any break)
In this forum i had seen that some are geting 4 days of battery with moderate usage and some getting only 1 day.You Had not calibrated your battery.Every Android mobile needs battery calibration atleast once in 1 month.
hi shreyasharusia
yesterday I made a reset, and I calibrate the phone.
Now I have following situation:
Dialer 41%
Cell Standby 29%
Phone Idle 28%
display 2%
android system 2%
Today I made just on call for 2 min, and I have 98%
do you think somthing is wrong with it?
thanks
could be a bug with the sense causing the battery life to be short. I usually let my phone discharge every day before I charge it for the next day. As I am usually using my phone every day the battery usually lats a day at the maximum this is usually because i am always listening to music or texting people.
now I have again this situation.
I did nothing with the phone. just one call for 2 min and 2 text, thats it.
dialer 95%
cell standby 3%
phone idle 3%
so then it is wrong to have the dialer on 95% right?

that's not possible.Battery use limits to 100 % not 101%. 95+3+3 = 101.And in your first post 41+29+28+2+2 = 102.How it can be possible .
Also check is your connection is 3g or 2g.You get your battery life according to it.
.... I know, but it is fact
I was surprised too....)
I will search for a screenshot tool, and I will post it soon....
by the way, I check it with Advanced Task Manager, maybe this tool is wrong?
I use 2G only. I wouldn't be suprised if bluetooth and wlan would be on, and after a work day the battery is empty, but for one call and 2 text?
as for now, the Task Manager and a File Manager is installed, the rest is all on default.
thanks

Hi, im new htc wildfire s user, barely a week. Before my battery usage showed lots of things but now theres Dialer 97%, Cell Standby 2 %, and Phone idle 2 %. Whats going on :S? Im releaved that im not the only one. Can somebody please help me im begging
My girlfriend's wildfire s' battery life is really bad. At first it was like 16 hours, but that was when it was in a really heavy use. Now it lasts only for about 12 hours with very minimal use: a couple sms' and little calling. In fact the usage doesn't even affect the battery life, as it drains at a constant rate. The values are _always_ the same: Dialer takes 49%, Android system 49%, Idle 2% It doesn't even show how much the display is using!
[SOLVED] this battery issue
Hello everyone who is experiencing really massive battery drain on wildfire S.
Symptoms:
1. you own wildfire S
2. in battery stats the "dialer" is on top (eg. 97%)
3. you have made a call recently
4. experiencing battery drain about 30-50% per hour.
Cause:
Maybe it really surprises you (or your girlfriend), but you are most probably making a phone call. The new wildfire's dialer is just a bit crappy. When you dial a number and then want to hang up, you have to do it by correct button (the red "hang-up" button). There is also a possibility to "terminate the call" by pressing the "back" button on the bottom, but in this case your call is not terminated at all, but dialer is running now in the background. The nice example is when you are calling a buddy and then you hang-up(using back button) after you realized that you are being redirected to voicemail. By doing this you are still talking to a voicemail for a period of time until the call is terminated automatically by that particular carrier.
Solution:

does anyone know the pin diagram for the battery?
I just want to know how the android takes the data from the battery.
For users experiencing massive battery drain after making a call and the infamous "Dialer" process is showing up in the battery, you need to follow the greatest battery saving top found in this thread. impreza_rs posted this solution taken from the HTC website:
"connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged. Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off. Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on. Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green. Disconnect the phone, power it on, and use it. You need to use this sequence only once"
I do this process every time I flash a new rom on my device and it works flawlessly. A little tedious, but you only have to do this once and you are good to go.

[Q] Jellytime ROM on DHD - battery drain

How much does your Jellytime ROM drain from battery? Using battery e.g. Battery monitor widget, I can see 60mA drain when phone is standby. Seems to be a lot for me. I didn't find comparsion just subjective claims - high/low drain. 60mA is with wifi turned off, bt disables, no gprs/3g data, just standby. No application seems to be running. Battery stat shows that 60 % is display (but I can confirm that display is off), 40 % cell stand by and about the same amount phone idle.
You can try BetterBatteryStats to check what might be draining your battery (if any).

Thanks, I will try it. So far I was using Battery Monitor apk. However, I have no reference if my battery drain level is expected for that rom or not.
I'm also having issues with battery drain on JT... really strange. It seems to have drain when in standby, and when the screen is on it goes like crazy, I can't get more than like 20-30 minutes of screen-on time. I really like this ROM, it is pretty stable and works fine, no major bugs but the battery drain is crazy. I took a couple of screenshots. It seems that process Media is keeping it "awake" and causing battery drain. In all other ROMs I used (and in stock) I have never seen any other process except SCREEN using more than couple of percent of battery. Now this media process is using almost as screen! Any clues as what it is?
Also, I noticed that it discharges quickly when screen is on, but it also charges quickly! Something wrong with battery stats? It simply can't go from 20% to 70% in 10 minutes while charging?

Its about 1% per hour about the battery drain..quite good battery with usage

Hmm, could you provide mA value (battery monitor shows it in history in 10 minutes intervals..)
I can do five hours with normal use on a full charge..
These are battery stats for my DHD. The first one is standby over night with stok HTC ROM (2.3.5), the second one is with JellyTime ROM 9.1. It takes 10times more power.

That's not much. Was it better as long as you can remember with stock HTC ROM? I could do 2-3 days with normal use with stock ROM.

Yes, but my cost for 2-3 days is: no gsm data, no wifi (or wifi for something like 5 minutes), no widgets except htc clock & weather, almost no background apps, few phone calls, moderate number of sms. (Yes I hear you saying, you don't need 'smart' phone , I do, I use some apps but not too frequently, so avg running time from 100% to say 10% of battery was 2-3 days, mainly depending on number of sms sent
I had it charged to 100%. Then I kept it charging, went to recovery and deleted battery stats. I booted and when it displayed lock screen I unplugged. Then I played for like 10 minutes (screen on) and my battery went from 100% to 88% !!! A bit too much? I installed betterbatterystats so I hope I'll see which process keeps it awake (there's drain even when screen off)...

perhaps try to install: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.bmw
it provides history of current consumption, that can tell whether it is a lot or not.
Btw, what do you exactly mean by "played for 10m"? What did you do?

Thanx for the tip, I'll try installing the app you suggest. "Played" means I turned the screens on louncher a couple of times to update all widgets, went into settings, looked at the battery stats etc. Maybe lounched foursquare and titanium backup, nothing really intensive... Here are shots from batterystats. Seems to me media service is doing it...

yes media service seems to be suspicious. It says, the phone was in deep sleep only half an hour for last hour while screen on was really only for about 10 minutes. I think the problem is in remaining time. I am not really familiar with bbs logs, maybe post the log into BBS thread here on XDA for help if you cannot figure it yourself.

There is no need for wiping battery stats.
Once your phone recharges to 100%, battery stats reset by default.

Ok, I figured out, what is causing high battery drain. It FM radio. After clean flash and basic setup, it consumes 10mA when standby. Which is twice more than with stock ROM, but seems to be acceptable. If I run and then exit Sprite FM radio app, phone starts to consume 60mA until reboot. After reboot, it is ok, until I run Sprite FM app again.
However, BBS does not show anything useful. Maybe because of FM HW keeps running? There is shown no SW battery eater..
I still can't figure it out Here's log of consumptuon in standby from last night, I have it set on profile manager to turn off data and set airplane mode from 1am-7am. Looks good to me, can someone confirm these are OK values?

charging at rate 500-600mA, is it external charger? I do charging on ntb and it's up to 400mA when battery is not close to 100%.

2012/09/24|01:39:43|-13mA|58%|3955mV|21.0ºC|.0|0
seems to be of slight using or runnign backgroud processes this hour?
Code:

2012/09/24|01:59:43|-7mA|58%|3955mV|21.0ºC|.0|0
2012/09/24|02:09:43|-7mA|58%|3955mV|21.0ºC|.0|0
this is expected consumption, with stock HTC ROM I got -3 - -5mA, but -7mA is pretty good. With R10 I got -10mA, don't know why it does sleep less than it should.
Code:
2012/09/24|06:46:44|-210mA|53%|3740mV|21.0ºC|.0|0
2012/09/24|06:56:44|356mA|57%|4187mV|24.0ºC|.3|6

2012/09/24|07:10:44|-254mA|51%|3721mV|24.0ºC|.1000|0
what happened here? -264mA is a lot of power consumption, do you remember what did you do? Common usage should be around -100mA.

Doubts about battery A5 2017

Hi, I have doubts about the battery or need advices.
When I go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning (6 - 7 hours), the phone drains about 15 - 20%, is it normal?
When I go to sleep I put it in mid power saving, 80% brightness, wi fi and AoD activated, blue filter activated, auto brightness checkbox deactivated and in settings -> maintenance I erase RAM.
Even though, the battery lasts 36 hours or more.
Thanks in advance.
That's normal standby for most devices, though I don't really lose as much percentage overnight by just closing all apps before I go to bed and keeping the brightness low while leaving WiFi and Location Services on. I go to bed with 60% and wake up 7 hours later with around 50%, so maybe you're doing something wrong. But 15-20% overnight isn't really a big deal at all considering how fast this phone charges.; you get 20% back by charging for just 15 minutes. You'd really over ever notice a difference in standby time if you're coming from an iPhone which has the best standby time in the business, but this phone makes up for it just fine.

I see. In fact, last night it went from 60 to 51, so it depends on a lot of things.
Do you say I must change/add some other settings to improve the battery life?
Thanks a lot for your answer!

I knew for sure that my battery life increased exponentially when the phone started dozing apps I didn't frequently use. The phone hibernates apps after 3-7 days of not being used, but you can put them to sleep yourself in Device Maintenance.
Advice
I lost just 1-5 at the night I stop AoD,and wifi if you use Facebook app or social media apps will drain battery faster than when using browser it's better.:good:

Where exactly do I put apps to sleep? Or may I force them to stop? (don't know if it is said like that, I have it in Spanish).

Only 1-5% ? Amazing. Yeah, but if you deactivate wifi, you won't get any notifications of anything during the night (if you think about it, you won't answer any because you are sleeping). Maybe I'll try that.
I don't use Facebook too much, but the browser version is a bit slower and not comfortable IMO.
The principal app that drains my battery is the PvZ2, though.
It will disconects wifi even when you turn it on... I lose abou 2 to 3 % night, but I dont see point of having device on during night so now I power it ofd

Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Check the apps you don't frequently use and tap Save Power. If you choose to sleep Instagram, for example, you can still open it anytime later by just tapping the app, it'll just take an extra second to start which you won't even notice.

Instead of turning it off completely, you can also use the maximum power saving mode. Using that, I went to sleep with 97% and once I checked after waking up it was 96%.
I didn't measure the boot time of the device (not that I even care about it) but disabling the power saving mode might be a bit faster than turning the phone on.
Thanks all of you!
It is NOT normal for battery to drain 15-20% overnight.
Normal drain in that period would be 1-2% without AOD and 4-5% with AOD.
Battery wise A5 '17 have good one. I usually get about 7 hrs on SOT with medium ussage or 1.5 days ussage.
