Has anyone been having the compression in mess up in CM7? It seems to be totally screwed up for me
NOTE: IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO TRY IT, THEN TURN YOUR VOLUME AS LOW AS IT CAN POSSIBLY GO, TURN ON COMPRESSION, THEN SLOWLY TURN UP YOUR VOLUME CONTROL.
I would love to know if its a problem for everyone or just me.

I had the same problem. It would only mess up when bluetooth compression was enabled and I received a call.

You're not alone, I get it too. When enabled, the audio shoots up too high. So I don't even bother with it.
same for me, galaxy s cm7 11/03/2011 nightly. massive distortion, high volume...
works okay here on cm6.1 (waiting on non rc version of cm7) on my mytouch slide.
phone speaker and headset, have not tried BT.

Yes yes I know that it works fine in cm6, seeing as DSP manager was designed for froyo.

Same for me. I disabled compression for headset.

I recently installed update-cm-6.0.0-Slide-RC1-signed.zip on my MyTouch 3G slide. I love the Android 2.2 but I can't make my bluetooth headsets work (Jabra Bt530 and Ford Sync). I can stream audio to them but neither one will produce the sound from a phone call. Given that the streaming audio is working I'm pretty certain that the phone's BT hardware is just fine.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I'm missing that will "magically" make this work? Is there a newer build that has this fixed?
Bluetooth is currently not working on CM6 and a few others.

Yeah mine does the same.... at least the headphones work, lol! Could be worse... thats why I'm sticking with 2.1 for now although I miss the speed of 2.2 for sure!
Use a wired headset if possible as bluetooth audio is not presently working on cm6.
So I'm currently using CyanogenMod 6.1 which I had upgraded to today. I also decided to use the headphones that come standard with the 3G slide. However when trying to use the buttons with the headset... they stop working. I've used stock music app, Winamp for Andriod and Currently DoubleTwist for Andriod and none of them work.
I'm wonder what do I have to do to get this working. Thanks in advance.

I've never gotten the headset buttons to work with the factory headphones unless I was using a stock ROM. Any other ROM they would either not work at all, or intermittently.
So then basically you're telling me that I'm SOL? There is no fix or work around?

Well, not entirely, I am just saying what I've experienced. I've made a thread on the same issue a while back and never found a fix, but who knows, there may be some sort of headphone file that has button mappings or something, but I've never found any. Some people do not seem to have a problem with a lot of bluetooth headphones, so that may be a work around, but I am only guessing.
My headphone is the same problem, cannot control after i root up cook rom. But the bluetooth headset is ok. Anyone have sollution to fix this bug, please....
Same here :-(, with g2, no headset buttons response :-(. But thank goodness read this post, I thought my headset had come of age...
But does that mean, something else I buy from the market would work?
Trying to find some feedback from anyone using the BlueAnt V1 bluetooth headset with the EVO.
I'm having problems with the headset not answering calls maybe 85-90% of the time. It announces there is a call, but will not answer via voice command or hitting the button. I can answer via the phone but when I do it doesn't transfer voice to the headset. The headset thinks it is connected because when the call is ended it tells me.
Have done two factory resets on the phone and resets on the headset with no change. Also spoken to Blueant tech support and they weren't much help. All they said is they haven't heard of it having problems with the EVO and should be compatible with all Android devices. Their suggestion was to try it with another EVO and see if the problem still exists. Well, I don't have another to test it on so that does me no good. This headset worked great on both my Blackberry phones before I got the EVO and has the latest updates installed.
BTW...I'm running Myn's RLS4 w/ #17.
Thanks.
Well I don't think it is the Bluetooth , it is the Rom. I have problems with myns #4 with the sync in my email. I have a blue ant also and it does the same thing . I have tried other roms including virus and it works on them , try that .
sent from the phone that is EVO
Pretty sure I tried this headset when the phone was stock and with some other Sense and non-Sense roms. It has never worked properly.
Not sure if it has something to do with the lockscreen or not. The first time it is connected to the phone it works fine. But every time after that, it doesn't connect the call.
I haven't had any problems running anything on Myn's. But just to make sure, when I switch a rom again I will reset and try the headset.
yeah mine does the same thing, it works if i answer w/ voice command but if i press answer button most of the time the audio is route to phone speaker......Lame!
has anybody with a blueant tried it with cyanogenmod? i wonder if the different bluetooth stack yields different results. I'd like to see an app update for the blueant software too (had a cheaper headset that stayed connected way better)
When I pair the headset, it connects and works great the first call I get whether using voice command or button to answer. Then every time after that, it won't connect the call.
Maybe it has something to do with the lockscreen or the phone going to sleep. I will have to do some trial and error.
Currently I am trying out the headset with MikFroyo 4.2 (Sense rom) to see if it makes any difference. This rom is really close to stock so maybe it will work?
I will post back with my conclusion.
My headset works fine now. I have found there is a coding issue that exists in certain roms such as Myn's and CM that prevent proper operation. CM seems to have put together a fix for it. Myn's still does not work at this time. It has been requested as a fix for RLS5 final.
Running eVoKINGS Black Titanium with Mik's 4.2 base and my headset works good.
hey where is the fix for CM or is it just in some of the versions? cause i just flashed CM7 and some of the features i loved about the Blue Ant before are not working like it will not play my audio like it did before i use to be able to listen to my music and what not through the blue tooth. if there is a fix for it i would love to get that working again.

Sorry...it's been a while and can't remember where I read about the fix. If I run across again will let you know. Might try downloading "BT mono" from the Market to see if that helps. Not sure if it is effective on AOSP or not but worth a look.
My HTC Incredible was working perfectly with my bluetooth car stereo up until about a month or so ago. The weird thing is now it will still pair properly with my car stereo and I am able to play music from my phone through the car stereo but when making or receiving phone calls it will not make any sound through the stereo or speakers.
It will place the call, the other person will be able to pick up and receive the call but they can't hear anything I am saying and I can't hear anything they are saying.
This used to work perfectly before and what's baffling me is I can still play music from my phone with the bluetooth fine without any issues.
I have an AMOLED screen incredible running 2.2 and Unrevoked. I installed Skyraider 3.5 (most current one whatever that is) I have used Metamorph to place my handcent where the + symbol is on the bottom rosie bar, I have also flashed the Berzerker mod for splash of red to make everything red and also provide 6 signal bars instead of 4. I am also running KingKlix BFS#6 kernel. Other than that everything is unchanged.
I have also tried to pair with other car stereo's with the same outcome. What did I do and how can I get this to work again? Is there a bluetooth folder on the system files that I can check to see if there is a change in there or something? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Did it work before flashing the ROM you have now? If so, did you flash a different kernel? Does restoring a backup resume the functionality?

I have been using skyraider for quite some time now. I also was flashing kernels for a while. I guess I am going to have revert back to stock & see if it works then. If it works then I will try flashing skyraider & see if it works after that, then a kernel & so forth & keep checking after each change to see if it works. I guess if I go back to stock & it works I will know one way or another. Thanks for the reply!
You bet. Virtuous is the most stock ROM available, very stable.
Did the bt firmware in the car get updated?

Hi guys,
Because of this problem I get almost sorry that I had taken a Galaxy Nexus.
I can pair Nexus with my carkit (parrot) and I can play audio through the speakers.
My problem is: When I call or receive a call I can hear almost nothing. Sound is so low that I can not even notice that the sound from the speakers or coming from the phone. I am using Volume+ too but nothing helps!!
It's look like that Nexus somehow even loses the connection, without any reason.
It's a rooted Nexus and running on AOKP.
Is there a better ROM for my bluetooth issue or do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance..
No one??
Has nobody has an idea or experince with this??
The market description for Volume+ says:
A Cyanogen Mod 7 or MIUI ROM is HIGHLY recommended. Running this app on a Stock ROM/Kernel may result in it not working, being far too quiet, or getting even quieter. PLEASE don't comment or rate badly if you are on a Stock ROM as this is most likely the problem.

The feature list for AOKP says it uses the "Unsecure boot.img (stock AOSP kernel)."
You might want to try uninstalling the application to see if that fixes your sound issues over bluetooth.
I am using a stock (unrooted) GSM Galaxy Nexus. It pairs just fine with my Jawbone Era bluetooth headset and do not have an issue when making/receiving calls with volume. Where I notice the volume is quite low is the voice dialer prompt only (the actually call is fine). Apart from that, no issues.
miui..
Hi guys,
Thanks for your replies.
I flashed the rom of miui and it's seems to work till now. So this rom dealing better with bluetooth.
