Okay so I just rooted my G2 with CM6 and I am missing only one thing. I loved the small 1x1 trashcan drop that came with the stock G2 rom. I don't know how anyone else feels about this, but anyway am I just missing something? I have scoured the UI customizations and cannot find any way to move the trashcan away from the left side on landscape, or top in portrait. I like to do alot with my keyboard open and it makes it hard to drag icons over to the next screen. Anyway just a rant unless anyone has a solution it would be nifty.

CM6+ comes with ADW launcher as default, and that is how that home replacement app is set up. If you install another home replacement app, (I recommend LauncherPro) you will have the option to switch next time you hit the home button. Each launcher app is set up a little differently so you will have to find one that fits your tastes or find the stock launcher.
and I think this is supposed to go in Q&A..
LauncherPro
Cool, thanks guys! Solved.

I searched some but could not find. I've been using LauncherPro so I'm kind of new to ADW and I've got two questions:
1) With the app drawer open, I made the icon to launch my app drawer disappear after I returned to the homescreen. How do I get it to re-appear? I know it had something to do with the arrows but I can't make it come back for the life of me.
2) Is there a way to keep the wallpaper from moving as I slide homescreens? That option is available in LauncherPro but I can't find it in ADW. If not, then is there a way to customize what part of my wallpaper appears on each homescreen?
I like the fact that ADW has themes. That's why I want to try and stick with it but I don't feel like I've mastered it at all yet. If there's a tutorial you could point out, that would help.
Thanks.
1) Put your finger in the area where your launcher icon should be and swipe down. Swiping up hides it.
Don't know about number 2

thanks, that worked. I could've sworn I tried that before, but oh well.
Hey, so I recently downloaded ADW.Launcher (I have the plus version of LP but it has gotten slow or sluggish) and I like it alot. Im still learning the application but had a few questions for people who use it
1. If I put my finger on the drawer button, I see an arrow that point up, if I drag up, the dock goes away..so where does it go, how do I had another dock like I think you can?
2. Is it possible to add my own icons to the dock? Like Right now I have the dock setup for 5 icons including the app drawer, but if I put a short cut on my homescreen like for gmail, and its a color icon, when I drag it to the dock, it goes there but turns gray, well it basically keeps the shape of the icon but unless u know what that icon is, just by looking at the shape there would be no way of knowing (kinda hard to explain)
Any help would be greatly appreciataed

2. There is a setting in ADW that turns icons in the dock grey vs. keeping them in their original color. I forget the setting, but it is in the ADW settings somewhere. ONce you see the name it's fairly obvious. I believe it's under the dock settings.
When you pull up the app drawer and it "disappears" thats basically another deck you can add shortcuts to. What I do is I add shortcuts to the phone's desktop and then drag them down to the very bottom until you see it kind of lights up white-ish. It should then dock that application down there.
Thanks for the replies, I watched a ADW.Launcher Youtube Video lol it helped alot with all my questions
It just came to me, the thought of having the rosie utility appear and disappear on command. Sometimes I like to set my Evo on its' kick stand, set it next to my computer AND set it on AniPet Aquarium but its a bummer that the damn rosie is taking up space. Its also nice connecting it to my TV and setting it on a wallpaper but the damn rosie. Not sure if this already done on home replacements, but i don't like them. Just wondering if it is possible as to make it like a removable widget, THAT'D BE AWESOME!. Right now I am rooted with Myn's WarmZ rom. Please only serious answers, I don't mean to sound dumb if this is not possible. Any advise would be great.
I've seen an app that allows you to just see your wallpaper, but I don't remember the name. You launch the app & the entire screen is just the wallpaper, nothing else. If the only time you use landscape is when it's on the kickstand, you could use Tasker or a similar app to automatically launch the app when you go into landscape mode. I'm sure it's also possible to set it to only open when you're on your homescreen & in landscape. Or you could just put a shortcut to it on your homescreen if you don't want to deal with automating it.
I'll do a search & see if I can find the app. I know it's not exactly what you're asking for, but it kind of solves the problem.
EDIT: I think I found it. It's called "Cleaner (Show Wallpaper)", and it's a widget. It seems to hide everything, dock/Rosie included.

THANKS. Ill try it out. Ill come back with an update.
Hi, I recently broke my HD2, and just got SGS2. On the HD2 I had Kumar's ROM. I'm new to Android, and I'm finding the Window Shade quite annoying. On the HD2, when I got a new message, voicemail, etc., I would tap on the notification bar which opened the notification window. On Android this requires swiping the bar, which is not easy using just one hand, and is simply more input than necessary. Is there any way around this?
Thanks!
I grab the notification bar with my thumb and flick down. One handed.

Use adw ex and set the gestures. Use swipe down for notifications.

Thanks, Biz. I installed ADW EX & tried that setting, but it didn't change anything. I'm using the updated stock ROM, perhaps using one of the modded ROMs could affect this?

ROM wouldn't matter much. Did you go in the ADW settings and look for screen gestures? Change the swipe down to show notifications. That way when you just swipe down on the home screen, that whole thing will shoot down.

Thanks for the help, Biz. Yes, I tried several settings. The one you are referring to DOES work in that manner, which is a little better, but I'm just hoping to find a way to not have to swipe at all. I realize it's a small thing, but it's something that will aggravate me to no end, and as far as I can tell applies to all Android phones. I thought these things were supposed to be more configurable than this. I am amazed that there may be no way around performing dozens of extra motions every day to accomplish something so simple.
May sound crazy, but I'm missing my perfectly configured (but lesser hardware equipped and no longer available) Windows Mobile 6.5 HD2.

OK. On the homescreen using adw ex, you can hold down and add a launcher action anywhere on the screen you want. You can add a show notifications action wherever you like and edit it and use a blank png for its icon. Then when you click that part of the screen, the notifications bar will drop.
It's similar to what you want, you just don't necessarily click the notifications bar.
I hope this helps you more and you start to enjoy android. As I had a hd2 before the sensation and love this way more than both of them combined.

Thank you, sir. I have been messing with that ADW EX launcher setting, and it's a step in the right direction. Still not at all what I'm looking for, but better than the stock setup. Any idea if there is some way to get the window shade to simply open and close, rather than the animated and slow way it moves now? That's another annoyance; I just want the thing to work quickly without any superfluous animations and such. It opened and closed instantly on my HD2.
Really appreciate all your help!
Don't know of a way to do that man. Sorry. :-(

Why not just set your home button to go home and open notifications? It's in adw settings as well.

Thanks, GideonX. That's another OK option, but still an irritating kludge. I realize it's just a swipe or a couple presses of the Home button or aiming my finger at an icon, but I'm used to a single tap on the bar & no swipe, and find any extra required motions wasteful. Also, unnecessary transition effects are a pet peeve, they serve only to slow things down, IMO. I'm really astounded that the Android bar is that unconfigurable, even with 3rd party apps.
Sorry for venting my frustrations on you guys! I really do appreciate your input.

This is probably going to be a really obvious question that is right in front of my face, but I just don't see it!
I have a Galaxy Nexus (CDMA), running LiquidSmooth, and yesterday I realized that the bottom row of my home screens (above the row of icons that has a name that is escaping me) is gone. Widgets that used to have something under them now stretch to the bottom. For example, on one homescreen I had the Audio Manager widget on top, then the Friendcaster widget, then some system icons (Settings, Astro, Rom Toolbox, etc.) under that. Now the two widgets are the only things on the screen, with no extra space for icons under them.
It's like I managed to resize the resolution or something. I don't know when it started, or what I might have done prior to it. I thought I was going crazy when I first noticed it, because it isn't a problem I've ever had before. I'm probably going to flash a new rom tonight, and see if that solves it, but does anyone have a clue what might have happened?
Thanks in advance!
screenshots please.
In your launcher what is your grid size?
I'm sure it is possible to change the grid size in Apex Launcher, but I'm not having any luck finding it. Might be paid version only, but I'm still looking.
Argh, can't post the screenshots until I have more posts. The annoyance of being a lurker sometimes. :/
