I would like the kernel from the modaco 2.3 rom but I see that you can't download it seperately. Is it possible to extract the kernel from the rom?
It can be done, yes. But you'd need to use a kitchen to do it
Thanks, have you got any more info on how to it?

Does anyone know how to extract a kernel from a cooked ROM? Thanks.
In a sense 2.2.1 rom where is the kernel ( if there's one in it).
If there isnt is there a way to put one in a rom so that its all in one?

It's in the boot.img file. You can extract the kernel binary manually or with a script (dsixda's android kitchen has one iirc).
OK so I am on CM7 and I loaded a custom Kernel I want to try a sence rom do I need to load sence kernel when I flash the new rom or will the rom over write the kernel I have ?
The rom will install a kernel an overwrite what you have.
That is what I thought but wanted to make sure .Thank you for answering

does anybody knowns how to flash the baseband on a custom ROM??
I need the original stock kernel from stock rom,if possible from BL4.Does anybody has it,or can someone extract the kernel only to a flashable archive??I know i can get it if i flash the stock FW,but i need to flash the kernel only.a
