Wireless Tether app on CM7? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, i know that when the cm7rc1 came out, the wireless tether app didn't work and broke the stock tether app..anyone know if a recent version of Wireless Tether fixes that? That is the most important thing keeping me from CM7

I use the built in wireless tether just fine... no need for other apps.

ROMs that support VZW WIFIRouter.apk

Was wondering what ROMs out there for the DINC will support the VZW native Wifi hotspot app? Android Wifi tether has become unreliable for me, but don't I don't want to give up the MANY benefits of runnig a custom ROM. So what ROMs out there with support the stock WIFIRouter.apk?
Thanks!
Use a FroYo AOSP ROM--they have built-in Wi-Fi tethering. CM7 is a good idea, as is Ruby.
I would say omgb or omfgb they both work great

Everyone says WiFi tether is faster and better, but I have problems with it some times to.
For example, on some ROMs with wifitether, I can't connect to my exchange server. Remote desktop doesn't work either.
I get this same problem connect to exchange and remote desktop to office with some motel WiFi as well. Never really figured it out.
I like the stock WiFi router as well. Always connect my laptop to work. Exchange and remote desktop.

Any working alternate tethering?

It's been a month or two since I've had a properly working wireless tethering and I was wondering if you guys know a version that works on the stable CM7. An alternate wired tethering would be nice too. Thanks!

[Q] Looking for a tethering app that has infrastructure mode non adhoc

I'm trying to tether from ics to my xoom also running ics the only way I can do it is with the hacked sprint hotspot which works if I want to run gingerbread which I do not. Can't get the bluetooth pan tether to work either. I haven't found much about this in my searches.
ICS ROMs have built in tethering. Settings>More>tethering

Wireless Tether App

Hey guys,
I was wondering what the best option in the Google Play store is for a free wireless tether or hotspot app would be. Any recommendations would help.
Also, a second question. Is there a good ROM that has a stock (TW or pure android) look but has a reliable Sprint Hotspot hack included? I was using Calkulin's E4GT ROM but I consistently get random reboots and its quite frustrating. I also used CM9 but that did not have any hotspot hack built in. Thanks again for any help!
Foxfi is great. Works for rooted and unrooted tethering. it can be found in the play store. If you are rooted just google the wifi tether app for rooted users.

Like the others said, fox fo is great
And blu Kuban works good with wifi tether.. Doesn't have a stock TW look tho.. A lot of blue.. But there are launchers and icon packs for that

[Q] connect wifi tether in infrastructure mode vs ad-hoc. Can it be done (yet)?

After taking a trip to the darkside for a year or so (IFail), I decided to rejoin the force by purchasing the Optimus G, mainly for wifi-tethering and more control over my actual phone. I can connect my phone just fine to my Mac (the Optimus appears under devices in airport), but cannot get my Kindle, nor my X-Box to connect to the wifi. Is this an ad-hoc vs. infrastructure connection issue?
Can anybody help with this issue?

Not sure I can help with your ways, but Wireless Tether, from the Playstore, works good for me. You have to have root. Settings are; ics/jb generic, wlan0.

Most wireless tether apps use ad-hoc, which only works for PCs and PSPs it seems like. The built in version you pay for works on some phones like my old evo, but we hack to unlock that first to not pay. I will check it out when I get the chance and see if I can do the same thing.
