Hi guys,
Any idea why the camera closes when recording at 720p? I can record fine with the next resolution (widescreen 800x480). If I set the resolution at 720p and press the record button, the menu freezes for a few seconds and the camera closes, showing me my homescreen. I've never been able to record 720p before so I don't know if it had worked when it was still new. I have this phone for a month now. Restarted the phone and everything, even installed task killer and killed everything before recording but still no luck. I tried searching on the net but I think nobody has ever encountered the problem before. I don't have any other video recording app. What I do have are camera/editing apps: fxcamera and picsay.
Anybody knows what I should do? I don't want to wipe my phone because I already have a month's work of modifying, downloading, etc put into my phone.
Also, my phone IS NOT rooted.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I just found out that it has the same problem with the online HD mode. So basically when I try to shoot at HD, it crashes.
EDIT 2: I noticed that when I'm in HD recording mode (720p and online HD), the digital zoom bar on the left disappears. It appears with all the other recording qualities. I guess this is part of the problem.
Yesterday I had exactly the same problem .
Thats what i have tried , and finally fixed the problem :
1. Go to application manager ( the built-in one ) -> all apps -> Camera app
pressed "Force stop" . DIDN'T WORK
2. Restart the phone ( fastboot ) -> DIDN'T WORK
3. Shut down the phone , Started it ( Slow booting up , not fastboot )
FINALLY WORKED , camera started to work once again
-> Just need to shut down the phone , and boot it up without fastbooting ..
Now the camera works , but haven't understood what I had done that the phone camera stuck .. :/

Hey,
Some days ago i flashed the UK 2.2 ROM onto my defy, everythings working fine, just applyed the marketfix.
Now a friend of mine got his defy today and we flashed the same rom to his, and everything seems to work - except the camcorder.
The camera-app, for taking photos, is working as it should. Now here's what we've noticed so far:
- both apps produce a clicking noise of the camera, which my defy doesn't do
- if we set the resolution to QVGA or CIF, the camcorder is working correctly
doesn't matter if we start with the camera and switch, or start with the camcorder-shortcut - it's just clicking, everything turns black for a second, and that's it. Any ideas? It's kind of strange to see it working on my phone, but not on his. Btw under his battery-cover it says "BT 33", mines a "B 9".
edit: After flashing for the second time, i realised it is the "Market_Apps_Camera_Mod_Haptic_Mod" that breaks the camcorder. So the solution is very simple.
The Marketfix for 2.2 is available alone, but not the haptic-fix, for the solution here ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936313 ) is resulting in a bootloop, as for some other users, too.
does anyone have the unmodfied "framework-res.apk" WITH haptic fix enabled, or maybe a .zip of the haptic fix to apply via recovery? that would be great!
My HTC one V, on the first day the video recording worked fine. However after that, when I try to record a video it will not work. The camera is fine and everything just when I press the record button, it makes the sound that it is recording, but there no timer to indicate that it is recording. None of the options work except for the HOME button. When I click the HOME button, the camera is still "recording" mode but it never records anything. I have to restart the phone to end the camera process.
I am planning to root and flash a custom ROM to see if it fix it but I am waiting on a new release of a ROM. In case this does not fix it has anyone know how to fix this issue.
Try this...
I was having a similar problem with the music app... i went to app manager, force stopped the app and cleared data... that fixed it... you should try that with the camera app before flashing...
Hello all,
Recently I have installed the custom ROM Android Revolution HD 7.1
Everything seemed to be fine, until I tried to record a video using the phone camera and showed me up the following Error alert:
"The application Camera (process com.android .camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again"
I have tried many times, different days, I have changed the video quality, but nothing works, always is throwing me that alert, so I cannot record any video
Anyone has the same problem. How to fix it?
PD: Take pictures is working perfectly.
1. Try fixing permissions in recovery.
2. Try reflashing the rom after doing full wipe.
3. Check the rom's thread. Maybe someone reported such issue and the answer was already given.
also check to make sure your recording settings aren't too high or are on the right settings. e.g. any resolution lower than 8mp is fine, but if it's higher you'll get an FC. Also if you've configured the camera to record at an extremely high setting (e.g. full hd, the works), and you have a relatively slow sd card, you could get some issues. I've had that with other third party camera apps, although never with sense. Worth a try though. Finally make sure it's set at a back facing cam, and not a front facing one (since the dhd doesn't have one).
Yesterday I noticed that I can't record a video via default app (Camera). It shows 1 second then stopped.
I tried the below
Reduce the camera resolution.
I have enough memory space.
Reset to defaults - Camera app.
Clear data for the camera app - settings.
Format the device.
After formatting the device, every thing goes normal and I can record video normally, but once I update my apps which are restored, then I faced the problem again.
It seems there is a conflict in the software but I don't know yet where.
I don't know even how to enter safe mode.
Any clue?
Thanks

do you remember which apps you have updated ? if you have some spare time, you can try to find it out and write its name here
So i got the phone a year ago it worked flawlessly until patch 9.0.11 hit it literally crippled the phone to the point where even the boot screen is slow motion.
the interesting is that all sensors work fine audio playback is perfect but video is not at all even the camera lags.
I have tried everything even sending it to one plus, they wanted 450usd to fix it.
its right now on stock everything with an unlocked boot-loader
i have a screen recording if it see below

450 USD for a 3 year old phone. ?
It isn't worth it .
If you can't live with these bugs. Buy a new phone.
Otherwise try Gcam .
Hello, I've looked at your video and I really don't see what's wrong because the whole vidoe is laggy.. Here is what I would do: you have to probably go through your apps and delete some apps which are draining a lot of memory, then you have to boot to recovery mode and delete cache there, then download app SD Maid Pro ( you can buy it or you can find a cracked version of it somewhere on the internet). Then run the app and let it auto force close and delete app cache from all of your apps (you have to change your phone language to english for this to work. I yesterday received a new update for Android 10 so maybe wait and update it to new Android and see if your problem is gone. Good luck [emoji1696]
