I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions as to which browser might cause more or less battery drain?

I am curious about this as well. I am currently using ADW EX and I like it alot. I know alot of people are using Go Launcher now. I heard they collect information ..any truth to that?

wait, I'm confused..are we talking about browsers or home launchers?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Well, I was talking about browsers.
I want info on both sorry. I didn't want to start a seperate thread for a launcher...sorry for confusion

I wanna know this too cause most my battery drain is from surfing the net on stock browser. I am thinking 3g radio is the culprit.

Bizarre, i literally came here to ask this. I started using dolphin hd recently and noticed it was showing as about 20 percent of battery usage after just a few minutes of use. The stock browser rarely shows in the log at all. I am curious if it is just because the stock browser hides its usage somewhere else.

Android system using 64% of my battery and I been having my screen on all morning. is there an app that will track battery usage on each app. I have about 80 apps installed and I know one of them is f-ing Me up.

Better battery stats is a good app.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk
That's a lot. I bet a few are eating up the battery.
Watchdog will watch your active apps and alert you when any particular app breaks through a preset % CPU threshhold... I use it and it works great...
ill try both of those apps . Here are some screenshots if you guys can think of anything else. Thanks

How do I undervolt my GS2? Do I use SetCPU?
I'm currently using Gideons script. Works awesome. Look it up in the development section.
Sent from my Galaxy S2 using XDA App
Do NOT use SetCPU. It keeps the 2nd core constantly on which equals terrible battery. Use FauxClock or Gideons script. I recommend -75 mV
Thanks for the help
Is that true about SetCPU? Or is it an old wives tale......? You decide.

I'm using set CPU with no issues and I get great battery life. Less then 1% hour drain with screen off.

My battery has been dropping pretty quick running cm9a4 and fe22 cwm and kernel. When I go into battery stats it says media server is using up most battery. It was at 81% for media server. Forgive me if this has been brought up before but I need quick help as im out and dont have time to search and the xda app isnt ideal for searching..

unfortunately it seems to be android and related to playing games and streaming music.. there are a few work arounds but they are irritating and require to either force close or take your media files off or reboot phone and not run any media unless you do one of hese after.. is this just not widespread enough for nobody to really answer this question? i remember the android os bug being squashed.. why not the mediaserver bug sucking up peoples batterys? no permafix's out there?

screenshot at end of cycle last night before i threw it on the charger.. also this wasnt happenening until i flashed he cm9 fe22 from chris41g's kernel repo..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
screenshot after reboot.. no mediaserver process running at all.. guess i wont be playing games or music anytime soon. lol

Not being able to play games or music would suck big time. Have you tried an app called battery stats to see what else could be draining your battery? Have you tried a stock rom and see if the same thing happens?

So far on calks fe22 stock rooted and kobridge tweaks no problem at all.. Actually got great battery after install already.. Media server last at 2% after ten hours of moderate use throughout and idle overnight still had chatge

That's excellent. Glad you were able to figure it out the issue. Now you will be able to enjoy your phone again lol.
