Working camera RHOD-100 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

is there ANYONE with camera working on the rhod100? even now with these new fixes for the camera, nothing changes for me. complete freeze-up at starting cam at or the cam works for 1-2 secs then the app freezes..
the camera "updates" dont change anything for me,
who has it WORKING on an rhod100? and by working i dont mean the crashes i have..

On my rhod100_fr, I have the same problems.
The test kernel of viruscrazyyyy was work. But not the new...

Same here. I did notice that during boot up is looking for some files it can't find; I posted in the wistilt testing thread (somewhere around p.90) do you see that also?
Sent from my MSM using XDA App

My camera is working, but you probably got an AUO panel(i have EID).
If someone wants to try it, here my files i use.
- FRX05
- Wistilt2 test kernel
- F22 rootfs

RHOD 100 - no problem
I've got working camera with RHOD100, no freezing, but sometimes screen glitches with stripes, or can be splitted for several squares =) but it's the problem with stock "Camera" only, "CameraFX" working perfectly-zoom, autofocus..
Using Froyo RED the last one with the last system.ext2 update and camera kernel 1214 with corresponding zImage.

I have rhod100 from uk and camera still not working. What i have noticed is that it works on a low light ambient, almost dark room. when i switch the room lights, the camera freezes after 2 seconds with the usual issues. i am using the 1276 kernel. sad.

oops! thanks for the tip.

If you have a RHOD100, specify if you have an AUO or EID panel.
IF you're running one of WisTilt2's test kernels, it's in dmesg somewhere. I think panel type 13=AUO, 14=EID, I may have those switched tho.

This is correct.
There's a third panel type to, for those RHOD300 folk - 15 .

Ahem....
Anyone mind providing some feedback?

Awesome!
But as I clearly stated, you should only be testing cam. Other things will be broken - wifi being one of them.

Wow, thanks arrrghhh!!!!
I've searched for a kernel with working camera for rh100 for a long time and I never read this post xD
I'm not an expert at this topic but I downloaded "FRX07.1", installed it and used the files you've uploaded. Then it worked. The quality of the cam is good, all options (Changing brightness, sepia, aqua etc) worked, but it seemed darker than normal (the reason for this could be that the cam is very old and dust lies upon it xDD). Sorry for my bad english, it's not my native language

Will try it later today
Sounds very very good

[MOD][CM7] Camera Hack => Set ISO values + Metering Modes

I've noticed that Camera app in CM7 doesn't show any values for ISO settings, but in the official ROM it's a supported feature.
So, I've modified a bit the Camera app source code, to show the ISO settings for the I9000 model.
Also, ISO 50 and ISO 1600 are supported, that were not listed in the offical rom. I think ISO50 = ISO100 because of hardware or driver limitations.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instalation methods:
I have attached the modified Camera.apk that you can install by doing:
# adb install -r Camera.apk
or
by simply copying the apk to the device and installing it like any other application.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Modified Sources:
I don't know really if this hack should be in the CM7 repository, so I've forked the module in github and anyone is free to checkout the code and my mods.
https://github.com/mauro235/android_packages_apps_Camera
It's merely an easy hack, but I hope you can find it quite interesting and useful.
I've added support for metering modes while we wait for official support.
Touch focus didn't work.
It's all Cyanogenmod magic code, thanks to the devs who are working on it.
Here some logcat logs that show the effective settings:

As far as I know, the current libcamera.so doesn't have an api to set the light sensivity on video recording. It may be hardcoded deep in hardware, I'll check again the Kernel driver.
Another issue is the continuous auto-focus on video recording. Apparently not supported, I'll try that also.

Yes and it's an accepted value by the driver. But deep in the kernel driver I remember seeing something like ISO_50 = ISO_100.
Anyways, the hability of setting a custom ISO in the range from 100 to 1600 it's a good thing. At least for me.
well done nyc job

BTW: It's all Cyanogenmod magic code, thanks to the devs who are working on it.
Hi, I'm a happy user of your app on cm7 and i saw that a lot of features are added in last nightlies.
Is it possible that you include them (power button shutter, zoom in camcorder with volume buttons...)?
Thank you for your great work.

ICS Video Recording Workaround

Our new member ktxda1988 posted a workaround for video recording in ICS
Here what he posted:
"Most people found the video recording not working, i am one of them. But i found a trick to make it works, would you guys please try if it works for you. This symptom may help the developer to fix the problem.
1. Switch to video
2. The preview quality is bad
3. Settings, toggle the power shutter
4. The preview will become much clear
5. Recording is ok now
But next time you go to step 1, preview is bad again, just go through step 2-4. It works again!
If you guys can confirm it, it means the video function is basically ok, just some minor problem and i think it can help epsylon to fix it.
My phone is, defy red lens, 20120406 build, froyo."
reserved.
WTF?
Why a new thread?
Video rec is working properly for all red lens devices in 0604...
Only if you had few nightly's in which video rec didn't work.

Does this bother you, that somebody's posting a solution to a very common ICS bug? I find his thread very helpful and will even report it to a Mod to add to the sticky ones.
The report button is for posts that violate forum rules.
another workaround
First of all thx agai ktxda1988, I still owe you for that one
Second - since after just a few times of doing this my camcorder died for good (now i get the error as soon as i switch to the camcorder)
I had to try something else.
So I downloaded a few video recording apps.
The only one that worked for me was "lgcamera". I'm using it for now, but it works kinda slowly (like 10 seconds just to load...)
I believe that if one app is working, others should too, so keep trying!
so far not working apps: ancorder, ics camera, looxciecam.
let us know if anything works for you!

Yes, your phone may work. But many many people do not. So, don't be too self centered. I come to post hints for further development, not for arguing.
Working
I´ve tested on my defy too...
I was not using ICS/CM9 i flashed it a couple minutes ago. At the very first time it doesn´t worked, but it´s fine from the second try and on.
I hope some of our developers can go further on this and finally fix it
(i hope you can understand my bad english)

I have it on my N3. Fingerprint reader is the only thing that doesn't work. Haven't tried the O-click 2.0, but it is represented in the settings menu.
Which nightly are you using? 20120320 just boots to a black screen with only the statusbar visible and unresponsive, for me.
e: 20 and 19 have this bug. 20120318 seems to work so far, by which I mean I can actually start the initial setup process.
e2: Stock camera app seems buggy. First few times it wouldn't start, then it started working, but the second time you launch it it breaks the camera for all apps. Installing a third party camera app seems to fix it.
The way CM implements the rotating camera is nice though. It pretends the phone has two cameras, and when an app asks for the front camera (e.g. Skype) it'll rotate it for you and flip the image. Only downside is that manual rotation doesn't flip the image once you pass the half way mark.

I just flashed the March 23rd build. So far I've only had a few hours with it but it's running really smooth. Here's a few notes:
I was running a rooted chinese coloros rom and cm12 has fixed the issue with not being able to pick up 5Ghz wifi.
No issue with the defaul camera app or any others
The fingerprint sensor is still broken as well as the button
My proximity sensor is broken. I downloaded a toolbox and it's not detecting the promixity sesnor at all. I've read you can fix this by flashing the modem but I can;t seem to find them. I saw some posts about the 1+1 having the same issues with recent cm12 nightlies so I'll keep flashing nightlies until I go home for the weekend and I'll try to find the Chinese N5207 modem with the help of my fleunt in Chinese parents.

Actually, I lied, the VOOC charging did work, but wierdly sometimes the light on the charger didn't come on (it still charged quickly).
I've just installed (without wipe) the 20150403 and that works a treat. Only visible change is that screen elements with not standard res'n are now centred rather than bottom-middle aligned.
Loving the CM12 ROM - even battery life isn't much reduced and Lollipop is a great upgrade.

So I had lots of suspends of death with recent cm12.1 nightlies, but it seems to have calmed down a bit now. Still takes a while for screen to come on after sleep though and reboots on resume maybe twice / three times a day - only when on battery.
No fingerprint support yet - doubt that'll be there until Android M as there's no native Android support for fingerprint sensors in L - Samsung devices have had the Samsung reader backported, so they're golden, but I don't think the OPO / Oppo will get this attention.
The other big gotcha is video - nothing working unless you can get the Oppo ColorOS camera working (I've not tried). Stills are fine though.
I've tried again to get the Oppo camera working, using some of the newer ports to the OPO.
Still no joy
xposed, gravitybox and nova launcher is making ColorOS pretty tolerable though.

[DISCUSSION] What Google Camera are you guys using?

Since the old thread aren't responsive anymore, here's a new thread. You can discuss and share anything about Google Camera for Redmi 5 Plus, including the version you're using, the bugs, the fixes or anything else.
Btw I'm currently using back.rider's latest Google Camera. It works pretty well on my device.
Download: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_6.1.021_N7P_test2.1_defaultjpg.apk
Bugs: Photobooth aren't working, front portrait aren't working, HDR+ and HDR+ enhanced aren't working.
Fixes: Idk if there's any fix for our device, but if there's anyone capable of making a fix by editing the .lib file, that would be good too.
Hopefully everyone can contribute something in this thread.

Saneklic one has green tint on the rear camera, especially if u tap the shutter rapidly. You'll see green tint bug in the photo viewer. :crying:
I think that the green tint bug happens on all gcam version 5.1, no matter who's the developer. I tested gcams from almost all developers but none really fixes the green tint bug.
However, changing to gcam version 6.1 does make a difference. There's no more green tint bug, but the front HDR+ and portrait mode won't work (until the future update from xiaomi fixes it or any developer edit the lib file in the system folder). At least, it's good for daily use
I'm using GCam-5.1.018-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.3b1.apk after playing around with saneklic and arthur versions, Arnova is the best.
Strange i never had any green tint

On havoc 2.1 pie, never had any green tint, all functions are working.
Weird, bcs any gcam version 5.1 that I use I'm using resulted in this.

Hopefully anyone has a good answer for this.

make any small change in the app settings, for example toggle camera sound or save location button and the tint will go away. its an quite a common issue and easily fixable.

Nope, still doesn't work. Changing the settings didn't fix the problem. Is it just me or anyone else experience the same thing? This is really weird and I'm looking forward for a fix.
Use san1ty's GCam 6.1.021 for potter. Works flawlessly except for front cam HDR (omnivision).
damn im late but it happens to me only with hdr+ off. I found a version that has all features working, with night sight on android Q(10) so if anyone is interested ill post the link.

Hello
Is there any version of gcam that won't require gapps or microg installed?

After Samsung update today, Gcam stopped working????

Hi,
For some reason, got an update from samsung this morning, latest One UI 2.5.
After updating my Gcam stopped working, tried several different apps but
still stops and closes when opened. Any ideas???
Ken
That's a little concerning. Can you download Camera2 API Probe from the Play store and see if the camera still supports RAW capture?
Also try this specific gcam to see if it works for you https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/NGCam_7.4.104-v1.4_snapcam.apk
hi
Hi,
Thanks, I'll try it.

Ok,
Tried your Gcam, same not working, closes when opened. I was using the latest UltraGcam for quite a while now.

Please download the Camera API2 Probe app and take a screenshot of what it says. I've attached what mine says and I'm still on the July release before OneUI 2.5.

Strange, your screenshot looks like mine so camera api2 hasn't changed? Hmm, how about trying a gcam version that doesn't work for me on the old update.

Ok,
Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow. I've been trying different developers versions to see if I get lucky.
Samsung must have done something in the 2.5 update to OneUi that caused it for me.

Haha yeah I've been trying to get people on that reddit thread to try things as well. It seems a person in the Note 20 Ultra thread confirmed this version works. Can you try? https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/HyperCam-RaizenA-10.apk
Ok,
I'll try
Ok,
Tried HyperCam, it actually opened for a while, I went into setting to
change a few things and bam, closed and never opened after that!!!

Lol clearing data for the app should get it working again. Bigger question though is do you remember which options you changed that broke it?
Hi,
Nope, maybe reinstall later and try again,

So I tried Hypercam. When I switched to the telephoto it completed crashed. Wipe data and got everything back. Front-facing camera just hangs.
I spent a good amount of time yesterday trying different GCam versions. Some partially worked, namely some HyperCam versions and TrCamera versions. Couldn't seem to get the front camera working on any versions, however. No matter what RAW and Viewfinder format I chose, the front camera would either hang, or cause the app to crash. I rooted through as many settings as I could think to change around to get the front camera working, but nothing was working for me. So I would imagine that the versions that are closing immediately may have some sort of front camera configuration that is now not playing nice after the 2.5 update.
Definitely very strange, hoping a dev can nail this down, because I have been trying to use Samsung's camera app and, boy it's just not comparable to GCam, especially the front camera.

That's actually very helpful. Can you guys download the Camera API2 Probe app and post screenshots of what it says for Camera ID 1 and ID 3? This is mine for my Camera ID 1 on the older build.

I have attached the camera info.
It looks like the front facing camera is not giving RAW.
Also since I didn't mention it previously I am using a Snapdragon USA unlocked S20

Looks like both those IDs on the update don't allow RAW capture. That must be part of the problem. Do you know if it is fixable?

Thanks guys. Super useful info. I don't know if it's fixable but I'm passing the info to the gcam testing group that I'm in so hopefully one of the devs will see and know what to do about it.
