I want to try to add a modified PRL to my phone. I tried going into my PRL settings via ##775# and ##775 + ##778 (none of them worked.)
Does anyone know how to do it without using the advanced method posted in developement?
Thanks!
P.S. I'm on Syndicate ROM with the removed Carrier ID. Could this be a problem with accessing my PRL settings?

Imho I would think you would need to be on a stock rom in order to access the dialer code screens. but before flashing try going into your dialer and opening your qwerty keyboard and try entering it that way. I had an issue with ##data# and it opens almost every time when using the keyboard. hope this helps ya, if it does leave me a thanks

So, I have read that it's an issue with all Froyo ROM's on the EVO... You can't see paid/protected apps in the Marketplace; supposedly, the apps not showing are not verified to work on Froyo.
Could someone just patch the build_prop like they did on the Nexus One before Google released the official fix?
N1 Fix Thread for Reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693102
If anyone wants to tackle it, the dev of the N1 fix explained what needs to be done here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693102
I don't have an EVO, nor am I much of a developer; but I just rooted my friend's EVO and was looking for a fix for him when I realized that the N1 had a very similar issue when it was running leaked versions of Froyo.
Just throwing it out there... I could be way off.
I think this should be easy to do. Theoretically you should be able to take buildprop swticher v0.3.1.zip and replace /buildprop/build.2.1 with the build.prop from stock and /buildprop/build.2.2 with the build.prop from CM6 and then follow the directions from that post.
I'm about to test it out myself and see if it works...
Let me know... If it does, could you post the build.prop files that you used?
EDIT: Awesome to see another SC member!
Okay, first attempt boot looped. I think build.2.1 needs to be a 2.2 build.prop modified to look like 2.1 because the stock 2.1 build.prop won't work with 2.2. Should've looked at that more instead of rushing Going to see if I can find the lines to change real quick, gotta go back to work in a few minutes...
It also cleared my Google Account settings haha... trying a new modification but may not be able to upload anything until tonight!
Thanks for your help... Can you post your build.props before going back to work? If so, I will try to work on this more if you aren't able to get it before going back.
Thanks
Just printed and compared the build.props for the N1 fix and see that there are only 2 lines that were changed. If someone wants to provide me with a 2.1 build.prop and the CM6 build.prop, I might be able to get this working.
Don't bother with it man.
I'm the one posted the Nexus thread. I already tried changing the build.prop fingerprints & it didn't fix the issue.
Only thing keeping me from using CM6

I was just about to post saying what I tried didn't work and I was hoping you'd pop in here. I was thinking about digging into it more this weekend but if you haven't been able to get anywhere I doubt I could either.
Well... that blows... Sorry guys
Wish I could've been of more help!

After you changed the lines in build.prop did you try reseting Market?
settings > Applications > Manage Applications > ALL > Market > Clear data
Geniusdog... what all does the ro.build.fingerprint line do?

Yep. Even tried pushing it while still in recovery, right after wiping and flashing the ROM. Still a no go
Edit: the to.build.fingerprint is the "fingerprint" it shows when it accesses the Market. So its how the Market decides what apps to show, and sees what kind of device it is & its version

We need a setting like most of the android browsers to allow us to spoof ourselves as stock 2.1 EVO.

Hmmm...editing fingerprint and description *SHOULD* work but it did not work when I tried adding the fingerprint/description from Avalaunch's Froyo ROM. It seems that Ava's Froyo ROM fixed the missing apps issue. It's so very bizarre that we can't get certain market apps to show on CM6 and drives me crazy. There has to be some type of solution, I'm just not sure what it is yet
ok this is what we did on the Hero when we was with 1.5 and got the leak of 2.1 the market didnt show all the apps so we just change it with the nexus one, so i am guessing maybe we can get a 2.2nexus one build.prop and push it to the Evo, make sure to clear the market chache though , it took like 5-6hours for the apps to start showing up on the Hero!! just an Idea

Have you tried just using the whole build.prop from Ava's ROM? Should work ok since they're both 2.2, no idea if it'll fix the issue though.

bootlooops
Edit: nvm, was incomplete.
Sense build.prop files & AOSP build.prop files don't play nice together. Neither do CDMA files & GSM files.
It takes some changes to get the phone to boot with them, or to get radio access with them.
I've already tried a stock Nexus fingerprint, but it still doesn't give access. Like I said, I even pushed the file before even booting the phone (I.E, wipe, flash CM6, push file in recovery, then reboot) and it still didn't work.
Ava's build prop comes up, but no Market. Something else is going on.

Duh, forgot it was Sense for a minute there. I feel like looking into it more but I'm not sure if anyone's going to find a solution.
Has anyone been able to edit their APN settings successfully on ICS? I used the widget and edited the default Sprint APN and changed it to what my APN backup xml had for Boost Mobile but my MMS isn't working. :/ Tried rebooting my phone and sending another and it says it fails to send and pops up a message saying "Service not activated" or something to that effect. Regular SMS and phone calls work. Help??
Also noticed my voicemail isn't working either. I guess I need to go back to GB ROM, lol.
ICS blocked the ability for 3rd party apps to edit APN so in order to do it you have to manually edit them in the ROM zip prior to flashing at least that's the only way I've been able to figure out so far since there's no epst for ics yet

Can you ecxplain how???
You will have to decompile an apk nod it and recompile it and replace it in the rom zip ill have to look at the exact Apks in a lil bit Im on sprint so I haven't had tto do it another option is to use gosmspro it will allow u to change apn without changing it in the rom so it bypasses the stock settings which is alot easier for ppl who aren't familiar with reading and editing code

I tried the gosmspro but it has some different firm of settings. All I Ned to do Ia add a 10 digit MdN number and Google.com...
But in the gosmspro app there are very different setting options.
I had backed up my apn settings from the apn backup and restore setting all I want to know is if I can use the generated XML file to get the
einga in the from file itself and if yes then how can one go forward doing that???
I found on the market "apn settings shortcut" links you right to the systems apn menu its not a 3rd party app or a widget so try that and let me know if it works please

Sorry man its just that I had tried many different solutions and yet couldn't get my 3g connection back so decided to just jump to the Clean GB Rom.
But the MIUI Beta v4 rom seems promising and I will be updating soon. Will let you know how things work out.

I am on a version of stock LG8 and from searching yesterday, I ended up with the easiest for me was:
First you need whichever PRL you want to be in the internal SD root directory and renamed test.prl
Then dial ##data# select view then PRL Write. This reboots your phone with the new PRL.
I am not sure the exact thread with all the Sprint PRL's, but if you search for the one you want you can find it easy enough
Other than that an app called Anycut (no longer on app store) tries to do the same thing, but it was it or miss if it worked or not

To get To the ##data# menu on anycut. Add a new activity and create a shortcut To IOTHiddenMenu from there you have access To all kinds of hidden menus including there data and debug menus. Heres a link To anycut from my drppbox if needed
http://db.tt/lfo4OSGy and for some prl's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267893
thanks for the tip.
both of you missed the fact that I'm on metropcs so the sprint prl is useless
to me. using the data menu it let me write the new prl in view mode. now im on the latest prl. thanks!

Every time I flash a fh1e or 18 based ics rom everything wotbut i can send out picture messages i changed the url to boostmobile but it doesn't work.. I even set the dns open but still it doesn't work... Any suggestions would be appreciated... N yes i tried the apn cut n the leaked boostmobile rom...
Try using three go SMS app you can find it in the market. it should also allow you to manually change your apn settings in it's settings menu, maybe that might work. I know the only ROM i use is the rooted stock ics ROM because it's the only one i can send and receive mms on for some reason

maybe thats something that you should post in the ROM's thread or search
He has less than 10 posts...
Need more info Op. When did it start? Flash any mods or themes? Make any changes? Install any apps recently?
And I do recommend searching the thread, even if you can't post there. Could be a known issue that's been solved already.

Previous rom Universe s4. The mane thing I was trying to do was to Get the Mod DriveLink up and running.
I switched back to synergy because I couldn't get it to work on the s4 rom. I Had Drivelink working on Synergy
but Flashed to s4 because of caller ID and voice mail issues. now tmserver not working and drive link not working
on synergy rom along with caller Id & voice mail.
Ok, synergy if I'm not mistaken is kind of a FrankenDroid build. It has parts taken from the S3, Note2, and S4 I think. This is likely the cause. Your data wouldn't work with some of the apps on the other rom causing confilcts and bugs. Then when you flashed back, you now had data that has been manipulated by two different roms built from different sources.
Unfortunately I believe the best way to fix this is a factory reset. Or if you have a nandroid of your system and data from before you flashed you can just restore that.
Otherwise, boot into twrp or cwm and choose factory reset. This will wipe all apps and app data setting you back to a fresh rom install. If you have backups from Titanium backup or similar app, you can try to restore your data that way.
If you factory reset from stock recovery it will also wipe your internal sdcard.
Another option would be to find each offending app in App Management and clear data, then reboot. Youll only lose those apps data, but if you miss any it could cause future problems.
Of course, you are more than welcome to get a second opinion, but I'm pretty sure this is what's going to have to happen.
But again, if you have a nandroid, restore it and all should be good again.

Ok, so Voice Mail is working now and its not adding +1 to the numbers anymore? And you said caller ID invalid mms code is the problem. What exactly is it doing? Is "invalid mms code" an error message or somthing like that? Did you mean "invalid mmi code"?
Try this,
Go into Application Management and find and select T-Mobile Name ID, then press Disable. See if that helps. If not try it after a reboot and let me know.

Application manager /all . T -Molbile Account. Is that what your referring too? I'm not finding the tmo name ID.
Also I need to clarify. I can work around and call vioce mail with #123# code or just call my self. On the phone home screen when I push the voice mail icon it diles +1then I get recording check the number massage CA84o51. When I recieve calls caller ID shows &%7768%&%&^ it differs depending on who calls.everything els works clear calls, apps, blue-tooth, WiFi .
From the dialer press menu, Call Settings, then scroll down and see if you can access Voicemail settings. You may be able to change the number there. Otherwise it may be a csc file providing that info.
For caller Id, it dounds like the same thing a number of people reported in the rom thread. The solution was to disable a caller id app if om remembering right. I don't think the tmobile account app would do it but you can try. Look through the listed apps to see if you find something like that though.
