So I just bought my DHD, came from the Magic :S quite the jump.
I'm stuck with Rogers for another year, and I had to unlock the DHD from Telus.
I need some help setting up my APN's, as the list that Rogers gave me to put into my phone.... is useless.
All that I can put into my phone is:
Name
APN
Proxy
Port
Username
Password
Server
MMSC
MMS proxy
MMS port
MMS protocol
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
If anyone can help me fill these in for MMS, GPRS, and WAP that would be awesome.
At the end of the day I just need to get my 3G running.
Running 2.2.1
If anyone can help that'd be epic. Thanks
Erm bump? Anyone know? This is really annoying.
I don't know the settings mate, but Google is your friend.

Does Anyone know the settings for Verizon's MMS Server?
I wanted to send video thru MMS so I installed the MMS CAB on Ehud's site. The problem was, I need to enter my provider's MMS server settings:
Gateway:
Server IP:
Port:
I called Verizon, after 1.5 hours on the phone, 15 people, 4 so called "experts", no one could tell me the settings.
No Problem...I just did a hard reset to get back to my original MMS software and record the settings....no joy...for some reason, on the MMS Settings->Servers tab, I can't get the information....
Does Anyone know the settings for Verizon's MMS Server?
Thanks,

Port #: 8080
Server Address: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Connect via: T-Mobile MMS
Send limit: 1000k
WAP Version: WAP 2.0
As for the Connection settings for T-Mobile MMS go to Settings>Connections>Connections>Advanced>Select Networks & select New. Name it T-Mobile MMS, under Modem tab select New & call it T-Mobile MMS with the modem as Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G), set the access point as epc.tmobile.com with no User name or Password. Finish & make sure that's what you have selected under "Connect via" in the MMS Server settings.

Does anyone know what the REAL problem is and why no one can solve it? I think I've tried every mms setting and every cab file online and nothing has worked. I am so exhausted from the process..If anyone knows the real deal, I'd love to know and I'm all ears.
Thanks

This also addresses the receive issues.
i managed to buy a desire the day they came out,but unfortunatly it was locked to tmobile.i managed to get it unlocked via htcode, but have not managed to either go on the internet or send mms messages with o2.i have looked through various answers to the question of settings for the desire and some people have said that they have managed to use it successfully.i have tried adding a new apn with the various settings found among these pages but now wonder if tmobile hide a default apn within their software that i cannot see to delete. any help please!
What do you see when you go to:
Menu - Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names
There should be a list of APNs - if so, list them here.
One of them should have a green dot to the right of it - which one?
Zippyioa
originally there were none.now there are 2 both of which i have created o2 uk mms and o2 mobile web (the green dot)
Ok that's a great start....
If you go back to: menu - settings - wireless networks check that Mobile Network is ticked. If it is what does it say below it?
turning on it constantly says that, sometimes connection failed
Can you untick mobile network? If so, try it, wait, then tick it again and see if it connects....
If not your APN settings may be wrong, so go into Mobile Networks - Access Point Names and click on the one for the internet settings.
List them here so I can check they are right.
Also, has this O2 SIM worked on the internet before? If not you may need to call O2 for them to enable it
the sim worked fine on an n95.unticking and reticking makes no difference.the settings i have are as follows
name o2 mobile web
apn mobile.o2.co.uk
proxy not set
port not set
username o2 web
password password
server not set
mmsc not set
mms proxy not set
mms protocol wap 2.0

Ok, they all look ok except one thing. Try editing the username - change it from o2 web to mobileweb and make sure you save changes!
See if that works.
Zippyioa
changed, saved, rebooted nothing, still says turning on under mobile networks
That's no good....
OK, just to make sure we have this right, delete ALL the current settings in the APN menu, then reboot the phone with the O2 SIM in it - this might pick up the settings you need.
If it doesn't, go here: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html and use the GPRS settings for O2 to add the APN. Once done, save, then reboot and see if that works.
I assume this is a contract SIM, not pay as you go? From memory o2 PAYG wasnt setup for internet in the same way....
yes yes yes i was begining to think i would never see the internet on this phone.i can only say thank you.i went to the site you suggested and entered the settings provided and as if by magic!!!!
thanks again
Persistence always pays off in the end.
Glad its sorted now, enjoy mobile intetnet!

Hi
I cannot seem to receive MMS. I can see the thumbnail of an attachment but it just hangs when downloading the picture.
Can anyone help with setting etc ?
thanks
Paul
hi
contact vodafone and check you have the right APN.
i have done this but still cant send mms. i can recieve but i have to download the file. i also had the same problem with this phone when i had a t mobile sim.
I'm on Vodafone UK and mine works perfectly with these settings:
Name: Vodafone MMS
APN: wap.vodafone.co.uk
Proxy: <not set>
Port: <not set>
Username: wap
Password: wap
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.12
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 234
MNC: 15
Auth Type: <not set>
APN Type: * <-- that's a literal asterisk character
thats similer to what i have except i have proxy 212.183.137.012 and port 8799
and the same for mms proxy and port. maybe i dont need the 0 on the proxy like you have.
Damn! My cut & paste job messed up. There SHOULD be an MMS Port of 8799 in there
Sorry!
lol nope still cant send a picture.
Silly question but have you tried the option to "register" on the Vodofone network service? Can't recall where it was under the Wireless & Network settings. But I might be blabbing on about nothing.
But those settings I posted - they don't kick in "immediately", I find.
After a hard reset and I have a clean phone, I have to reset those settings and then give it a good 10-15 mins before they seem to "work".
Having said that, I'm leaving Voda soon as my overall phone signal is terrible and will be trying 3 Mobile on a SIM only contract.
hire is setings for all country & providers
double checked the settings and all seems fine but still wont send any pictures lol. im thinks its sonthing to do with the phone because it done the same on my t mobile contract. and that sim worked fine in my hd2.
had the same issues myself
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/topic/5...-send-mms-unable-to-connect-to-vodafone-live/
this sorted me out hope it helps
marc
just tried those settings and still cant send. vodafone are sending me a new sim now. they think it could be the problem. htc on the other hand think it could be the antena in my phone. they say to try the sim and if that dont work send it to them to look at. it would explain why i also have bad reception in a very good area
thanks will try this.
yup seems to work
glad it worked for you
ok im getting a bit anoyed now. i got a brand new sim and i still cant send mms. i can recieve fine and the internet works good too but the moment i try to send a pic it just sits in the out box. apns are fine reception is better with this sim but not great. still should be enough to do the job though. can some one please help me with this
My phone just doesn't let me receive or send so it's going back to htc for repair. I'll post back when they return it with what repair it had done(motherboard ariel etc).
that would be great mate. htc have offered to take mine in but i dont want to do it if its not needed. looking forwad to hearing how you got on.
Ended up mate didn't need to send it back as got some of my other mates to send MMS to me and all ok.
My wife is on orange and has a HTC Tattoo so I think the problems may be here end.
It could either be the phone or the fact that she doesn't have MMS set up her end.
thanks for the reply.
hhhmmm back to square one again.
anyone got any ideas???

Yes its ON, Internet is okey. My doing list:
change port from 8080 to 9201
delete the internet apn and only had the mms
upgrade to the 5.14.17 Rom
nothing works at the Internet are many different settings for sunrise....
I Dont know what to do....
ASk your provider for the current settings. Also some people suggested, that some custom roms won't change between APNs for some reason. I had this a while back, i had to reboot and it worked (with the correct settings).
For your mms apn, try to add http:// before mms.sunrise.ch (be sure this address is right)
Or delete all apn, then menu, and reset
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
