"In case anybody is wondering, this mod works excellent on Ginger Yoshi 5.2"...LoL try it out. His "lights" animation also works nice on 5.2 (and probably other RCs/roms since its just the boot animation)

if any one wants a custom rom its only £1.00
I though it was mmaiolo81 who was working on this. He PM'ed me a few weeks ago asking for instructions about how to build a boot animation.

You can edit the framerate in the desc.txt file than flash it again.
How to edit:
desc.txt should have this content:
320 480 35
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
The numbers in bold are the framerate. Change it to a lower one, rezip the file (using 7zip with the "Store" compression method selected - this method won't compress the files, just pack them into a .zip) and reflash. In your case, a 30 or 25 framerate should work fine.

Here is the secret: HARD WORK .
You draw the images with photoshop or gimp by hand, make an adjust for the next photo and save them until you have the desired animation.

I just provide for our MDPI device by resizing.
Should work with any MDPI device
Just flash in Recovery
It is landscaped though. If it's vertical, like below, it'll look bad
Obligatory "I take no responsibility for any damage to your phone" but there's a 99.99% chance that everything will be fine

Ohhhh that's why! You're running cm9 and the bootanimation file in the zip is for stock and cm7! Just extract the zip and copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media or /data/local

Actually, no custom bootanimation works on cm9. Tried to push 2 different bootanimation.zips into system/media and only get black screen on boot.

I love the blue version!
Is there anyway to make it move faster back and forth across the screen?
Thanks for your hard work!!
HI my friends having a galaxy y and still using others or stock boot animation.:crying:
Now this guide would help you in making your own custom boot animation.:cyclops:
what you need is:
A computer
GIMP
Boot animation creator
Some basic computer skills.
What you need to do is:
Download GIMP from here
Download Boot animation creator from here (credits go to despotovski01)
Download necessary files from below and extract the zip to get the two files (samsungani and bootanimation)
Procedure:
Firstly, make a folder and name it bootanimation. Open that folder and create two folders inside it and name them part1 and part0. Part0 would contain frames that would not repeat in loops. Part1 would contain frames that will loop.
Now open GIMP and select the sheet size to 240x320 pixels.

}
Lets start with animation frames:
They should be similar looking pictures that change little by little so that it really looks like animation.
Start with black background color and then save it by going to file>save as and then save it as a .png image by selecting extension option in gimp. like this
now edit that frame little bit like i have done below
Make about 100-150 such drawings(actually frames)
Now rename all of these one by one like- 1,11,21,31,41,51......
You should make about 200 - 250 such frames if you want a nice boot animation.
And then paste all of these in part0 folder not in part1.
Paste frames in part1 which you want to repeat...
Now open Boot animation creator.
It will prompt you to choose a folder. choose bootanimation folder containing part1 and part0.
Now put in some extra setting options etc. This program would make a zip for you.
Put that zip in system/media using root explorer.
And put the other two files "samsungani" and "bootanimation" in system/bin using root explorer.
Now reboot to test if it works or not.:good:
PRESS THANKS BUTTON IF I HELPED YOU, ITS FREE!!
=======================RESERVED===============================
hey good tut
minimum 100 will not be enough, bootanimation will only be played for 3 seconds, i think minimum should be 250 it wipl be played for 8 seconds with the default setting
thanks for your kind gesture. i have edited my post.

Matrix/hacker style XPERIA boot animation
I have decided to attempt to make my own boot animation for Xperia devices, it's based on the GTA V hacker style, it could do with some minor improvements but for a first attempt it's OK. So far it's only 720p and is running on my Xperia z3 but unable to 1lget the 1080 version to work but I will upload as soon as its working. Here are a few screenshots:

Not sure how to share from Google drive but here's the link:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BzNj7crTP8XvSjgydzVVSzh6R0E/edit?usp=docslist_api
Install instructions
1. Download the .zip file from the link above
2. Rename it to 'bootanimation.zip'
3. On your phone, go to /system/media folder
4. Backup the bootanimation in that folder in case you want it back
5. Move my bootanimation to /system
6. Rewrite permissions to rw-r-r
7. Replace the downloaded 'bootanimation.zip' with the original in /system/media folder
Please Note
I'm not responsible for any harm I did to your device. Do it with caution.
Let me know what you think
Very cool! Well made first bootanimation I hope to see more!
I personally would do the font like 'bangothic MD', it's a little more hacky style but way to go!
Thanks for the tip will have a look if I ever improve this 1 and definitely going to make more after this, good way to waste some time
