pretty sure none of the 3rd party tether apps work on GB. Pretty sure none of them are updated to work with GB is the problem. Your stuck with the integrated one until then.

K thanks

Yup, that's correct. Tether was a no go for me on salvage mod for the same reason.

CM6, perhaps the cyanoginger version? Meets most of your stated requirements anyway
I don't like to recommend myselft but yeah cyanoginger looks like the best choice for you xD
Since you are on cm7 you will have to wipe everything and then install cyanoginger version 1 first and then version 2 on top of it without wiping
Also you will have to do the wifi fix to have proper tethering and wifi, cm6 never solved those issues :/

Well RC1 For CM7 was just released under the Stable section of ROM Manager and to the extent of my knowledge all of the GPS /Fixes are applied and I get around 14 hours after full charge, Also you get Gingerbread! So that is what I would recommend

[APP]App Widget Picker

I haven't seen any Dev's make use of this app, but if any of you would like to add it to your phone, just download the apk attached below and use Root Explorer to copy it to /system/app/. For those of you that are unfamiliar w/ what it does, it basically organizes your homescreen's widget menu so that you don't have as many listings displayed(note beautiful widgets and fancy widgets pro in pic). Here's the link to the app's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780828 to give you a better idea of its use. Enjoy!

Cool man thanks, will give it a shot! 1.2.2 has been working so well that I wasn't going to fix something that isn't broken but if its working great might as well roll w/ the punches !
This is so cool, thanks. 1.2.3.

every ROM needs this addition.
apparently it's not compatible with the latest version of viperRom
Working great on starburst 1.8. Love this feature.

Native bluetooth tethering

Has anyone been able use the native bluetooth tethering on their S3? I'm able to pair and connect to my Nexus 7 but then my data connection becomes unavailable and I get this error:

Do you have the Sprint Hotspot plan? If not, that's why it's failing.

Don't have a Hotspot plan but I thought that was only for wifi tethering. Interesting. So I guess the only workaround is to use something like Foxfi and PDANet right?

Right. You can also flash Cyanogenmod for working native Bluetooth+USB tethering.

Gotcha. I'm kind of diggin' my TW ROM right now so I'll probably give PDANet/Foxfi a try.
I used it for a while
Never had the hotspot plan
Then it suddenly stopped working

CM10 is the only rom that has the native sprint hotspot app working.. i'm hoping more roms get it working as well, it's a native app that comes on the phone and it's pretty simple. there are other wifi apps on the market but you have to be rooted iirc.

This is a Flyme OS port from the Meizu MX.
This ROM can be used as a daily but has a few issues.
What works
Boots
Sound
Touchscreen
3G data
Camera
Sms(The normal app sends but does not receive so use something like Google Voice to text)
Settings
Not working
Certain 3G settings but it is a GSM port so they may not work
In the notification bar do not change the network toggle from automatic to any other option or you will get constant FC until you wipe data
Google Music
Youtube doesn't load videos
You tell me?

Make a backup before flashing!

I did some closed beta testing for this and it's an amazing rom!! VERY different from what we're used to. Reminiscent of MIUI, I think....but with a splash of OG android. I really like this one!
btw, if that toggle I told you about is still an issue it may be a good idea to mention that

Thank you for reminding me. I changed it up a bit so now people should know not to touch it. If I don't have work this weekend I'm going to mess around with it some more.

[Q] What happens when you flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone

Does it not boot, brick, or does service (obviously) just not work? I have a CDMA Xperia Play and as you guys probably know there is not a lot going for it in the ROM department. R800x.
I reeeeaaally wanted to use Aurora LE because I saw it being used for Nintendo DS emulation on youtube, but I bought the phone without knowing the lack of ROMs for this version of Play.
I'm only using it for wifi and gaming, so if service doesn't work that's fine. It isn't being used anyway. Anyone know about this? I apologize if it's a dumb question, I'm not used to flashing locked up phones (only tablets).
I'm expecting the answer to be "no, it won't even boot" but I just want to be sure.
I'm pretty sure it will boot, I don't know about the Wi-Fi working tho.

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and flashed the rom I wanted originally, it booted and connected to wifi but the launcher just wasnt there (only the notification bar, wallpaper, and pull-down settings shortcut was accessible)
So I downloaded the GB LUPUS kernel and Xperia NXT (another rom that popped up on youtube being praised for its gaming power) and it works wonderfully. Everything is so fast and snappy.
My only complaint is that the "no signal" icon is always there, but to me it's worth it to have a nice GB rom.

Well obviously it WILL boot, but (as in the screenshot) you won't get any signal and data. Which means it must rely on WiFi.
That's fine for me, i had no intention of switching to Verizon
Strictly a wifi and gaming phone for me.
