[Q] Stock music player hd roms insert coin reflex & rcs includes stock rom - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i was hoping one of the devs or someone equelly as talented might look at this and see a easy fix , ive tryed searching and posting in the relevant rom threads but nothing.
Ok at first i thought it was a issue within the roms however after checking my m8s stock desire hd today i noticed his did the same .... which leads me to belive htc have changed something and made it slightly gay.
The issue with the stock music player htc provide, if i go into the player then goto my albums the desire will list your albums with covers (it fits 9 albums + covers to screen) however if i scroll down the list the covers do not appear to be cached.
IE if i scroll 2 / 9 albums the covers will not load untill the album is displayed on screen if i scroll to the bottom of the album list the albums with covers will all load after approx 3 / 4 seconds. Ok problem sorted you would think as you got all your album covers loaded now, however if i close the music player and go in again its the same thing.
The music player did not perform like this on normal desire or custom roms , if i goto my albums on desire roms / and or stock they are pre cached no loading i can scoll down list there all there (covers). If i quit program go back into the music player all the album covers are there , if i was to do this on a desire HD stock or custom it will load the covers each time you enter the music program , i presume this should be a easy problem to fix but then what i do know , hence why im asking if anyone can look at this please

"All Songs" in TouchFlo music library won't scroll.

Hi.
I just found a problem with the TouchFlo music player, and wondered if anyone else had the same problem.
I've got all my music nicely organised, with album art, and it all works a treat, until I try and scroll through "All Songs" in the library. Basically, all the songs jump off the bottom of the screen, and usually stay there. I can't scroll up to go through the list of all songs.
Anyone else have this problem, or better still, does anyone know of a way round this?
Basically, if I've got "All songs" selected, and it's on shuffle, I get a good selection of all my songs. If I want to select a particular song, I should be able to scroll to it in the library and play it. Because of the problem, I'd have to select it via either the album or the artist, and that would change my playing selection from all songs to album/artist instead.
What a pain!
I only want to listen to Nurses Whispering Verses without losing my place! lol
I have this problem as well. Dont know a way around it tho. When i scroll up or down all my music just disappears and I'm lookin a nice bright EMPTY screen. Its annoying!
What is the best way to have album art for each album on the HD?
Hello it is a known problem with the current HTC album. It seems to be from having too many songs. I happened to me when i added about 600 or 700 songs. I tried reducing the number but had no luck until i remove them all and then readded only 450 or so and it works ok now.
For album art first you need songs arranged in /Music/Artist/Album then you can either have Folder.jpg in each album dir. or you can attach the album art to the mp3 in the file info. the album art should be 200x200. both methods work for both album and S2P using the Folder.jpg is necessary for Win Media Player.

I had the same problem. then I solved everything, simply by moving the music folder!
I have had that problem as well. Present on some roms, not on others. Not present in Duttys 1.9
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll try moving the folder to see if that has any effect, or just put up with it since it's only a minor annoyance, and just hope HTC sort if in a future upgrade.

You don't have to worry about the size. Mine are all different as I just googled for them and saved the biggest I could find for each album. Sometimes it wouldn't show an image, so I just deleted it and downloaded a different one.
I've got this problem and troubles me a lot,
I have over 500 songs in the library and it seems that the problem was due to too many songs on list
i think if you use advanced config or HD tweak to increase the cache size used for hte TF3d it would work properly then .. and faster scrolling too .. i am not so sure . i had this problem i did tht and deleted some songs ... then it worked fine
Anybody has a real solution??
anyone????
^_^
I'm using another rom and it's working perfectly now (i'm using this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562952 but it's working with every new roms i think)

well how big is ur music file i got like 6gb worth of music man and how do i set it i put it in my music in my sd card
I dont have 6gigs, no.
i've about 50 mp3s in the SD card.
yeah man mine worked when i only had about 20 songs playing from the phone but as soon as i got an sdcard and loaded my 3gb the music player flipped out. for some reason it takes a fart with large music libraries. before that it worked just fine
I too face the same problem. I'm using miri's REV10.0 HD ROM.
I have 2gb size of music files in the sd card.
Any one has solution or fix for this?
Is HTC Sense cannot handle huge Music Library size?
yeah ditto here with pretty much any manila 2.5 rom (dutty or otherwise). Anyone have any other clues apart from the library size issue ?
well ive tried it with 40-60 tracks so far all ok. 30 of these tracks are mixes each 1-2 hours long. I think its once you select to download album art things go badly. You can see the little spinning disc in the top-left corner trying to download something, then when it stops and you see the screen flick and refresh the music stops. It's like it downloads the latest album art (or fails and errors) and then tries to update the UI which tells to app to stop/start playing (notice how the music stops but the play button stays as playing).
Same issue fixed for me
Hi guys,
I had the same or similar issue with the Sense 2.5 included in my ROM.
I my case the issue was caused by the all versions of Manila 2.1 and 2.5 that created files named "AlbumArt_{937436F0-A712-496E-B610-48576D832D91}_Large.jpg" or "HTCAlbumArt.jpg" in the subfolders. I have of folder for each artist and different folders for each of their albums.
To resolve the issue I've only removed all the *.jpg file except the folder.jpg (256*256 pixels). After a soft reset, the HTC Audio Player recreated his own *.jpg named ~HTC_AlbumTitle.jpg. The only thing I don't know is if the name is linked with Sense 2.5 or Dutty's ROM.
I hope It will help someone else.
i dont think it has anything to do with that.... the shipped rom played threw and when i added energy 21892 build march 30th it played fine too. wen i got to same build but april1 i started to hav this problem then i went back to march 30th and still get this problem... now my question is does the device retain certain selected infomation from 1 rom to another... i beleive it does on my hd it happen how it was fixed is because i went to a different rom then went back to the old one i first used and the problem was solved... im getting ready to test my theory on my hd2 and will get back to u guys

MIUI Music Problem

So I recently flashed the new english MIUI but I'm having trouble with the music player. All my music is properly tagged with ID3 but most of my music is shown up as unknown artist or unknown album and they actually show the actual filename instead of showing the song title.
IS there any way to fix this problem? This is the only thing that's keeping me from actually staying with MIUI since the wifi/3G is stable unlike cm7
Bummmmmmmmmp.
Buuuiuummmppp
If there's an English pack, did you flash that as well? I'm still on 1.4.22, and it works fine for me. I just can't use it for album art because it kept giving me the wrong art. My lyrics were also in Chinese, but flashing the English pack helped.
My Evo + xda Premium App = This post.
I just installed the newest one and it just gives me like 2000 unknown artist's songs, but will try flashing the one you said
Anyone else experience this?
I don't have this problem... the problem I have is it will list the same album multiple times, with different tracks, so some albums I can't play them in entirety I have to switch and go to the duplicate of that album...
also when viewing albums the song names are arranged by alphabetical order instead of by track #
I'm here getting my post count up to 10 so I can ask in the MIUI thread
actually I think I found the solution. I re-flashed the rom but this time I used Titanium Backup to delete or freeze the stock music player, then I installed the one I use and it started reading everything normally

[Q] HTC Music app force close in playing page

I have recently flashed AHD 9.72 ROM, however my HTC music app keep force close when I play music in playing page (the page where album art is displayed and you can seek the music) but not in other pages such as the main page or album searching page.
I have tried to fix permission, clear data for media storage and htc music app, however non of these are helping. I suspect that might caused by 'update album art' feature in HTC?
Does anyone know any fix for this? I would try to avoid alternative apps as I really get used to HTC music. Thanks! :good:

[Q] HTC M9 Music Player Problem (Sense 7)

I'm a bit annoyed by the default htc music player. The problem is that the Album Covers are shown in a very low quality. I mean it's blurry. It's not as clear as the Original JPEG image. I installed some other music player apps and still the same. So I thought maybe it's a firmware problem. Is there a reason for this? On my Previous phone it was fine. Album covers had the original quality. And please don't say Reset To Factory Defaults or Stuff like these cuz it's not gonna work.
Has anyone reported this to htc devs or is it gonna be fixed in future firmware updates???
screenshots with the Google Play Music app are from 2 different phones.
I have to say I'm a quality freak and really care about small details.
You could download album art grabber from playstore

I don't use the default HTC music app anymore, I prefer Google Play Music, but my album art looks great.
