Do you think the best Official Rom For DHD?
android revolution 2.0.16,, it will make your phone as fast as lightning
Leedroid 2.2.2. Is the best custom rom for your DHD. Look like stock htc rom, but include all available speed patch and battery last double longer than on stock rom.. Recommended!
I've tested both LeeDroid and Android Revolution HD, and I'm sticking to ARHD, but really it's up to each user to find out whichever is "better". When it comes to custom ROM's, which one is "the best one" is in the eye of the beholder; it all comes down to what YOU prefer. Read up on your choices, see screenshots, you could even try a couple of them. You won't know which one to stick with until you've tried a few
EDIT: As ghostofcain kindly pointed out a coulpe of posts down, all of these ROM's are unofficial. To be honest, I don't have much to say about official ROM's, I had the stock ROM for about 1 hour before I flashed my DHD ^_^
I can't stick to a specific rom so i jump between CoreDroid, LeeDroid and ARHD I even used MIUI and Cyanogen for some time, but I like the look of sense more

all these ROM's are unofficial! but for my 2 cents it's CyanogenMod 7 all the way, Froyo is so last year.

Think i am ready to take the plunge to root my desire and also install a custom ROM. Just have a few queries that need some clarification and suggestions.
1. My radio version is 5.09.05.30_2 do i need to update this when when installing a custom ROM
2. Suggestions on Sense custom ROMs that have fast kernels with low battery drain. I have read a lot about Cyanogen ROMs which seems quite popular but its a non Sense ROM and would appreciate one with Sense. Kinda Like it.
Thanks in anticipation of the goodies!!
1. See what radio the ROM developer suggests and use that
2. I'd go all out and use the RCMixHD ROM - easily the best Sense-based ROM available and it's based on the Desire HD ROM...but that's just my opinion (wait for the LeeDroid brigade to chime in!!)
I'm far from an expert but i just flashed the latest radio onto my phone and went for LeeDroid 2.2f, which i've been running for a week or two, seems pretty stable so far. I was planning on trying a few ROMs before i get too settled into one.
which radio would that be?
For latest radio, see my signature. But as said, it's best to use the one recommended in the ROM thread if in doubt
LeeDroid seems to be quite appealing at the moment. Any known bugs for 2.2f
Don't know, not a fan of LeeDroid - don't like the custom wallpapers and apps that are used. Prefer mine to look as stock as possible
Which ROMs look as stock as possible?
Teppic's is basically stock with root access and optional extras
I haven't found any bugs at all yet, my current radio is 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27 which definately works fine with LeeDroid 2.2f, well it does on my Desire at least !
Any links to where i could get that Teppic's and is it stable with improved speed and low battery drain? Sorry am asking too many questions
Go look for it in ROM development - it's not that hard to do
What's LeeDroid like on battery?

VillianRom and PinkyDesire are both excellent choices.
LeeDroid Brigade here...... I have tried every ROM possible and the latest LeeDroid offering ,2.2f, is by far the most stable bug free ROM I have ever used. The RCMixHD ROM is very good, if you can live without the camera for the time being.

I get around a day and a half, using generally everything, including Sat Nav.
Got a Desire HD and have to admit I am impressed with the stock phone as is.
However many have told me that going Custom is like day/night and have decided to take the plunge.
So many choices so please recommend a ROM for first ever flash. Prefer something stable, reliable and does not drain the battery.
Cheers
With the criterias you have I would go for Android revolution 3.5 based on software version 1.84. It's stable and a rom for day to day use. And you can get it both with sense and no sense.
I personaly are using Revolution 4.0 beta, and haven't had any issues with it, but a full version of gingerbread will not be available with sense before a official or leaked version.
But it's a lot of stable ROM's out there, so in the end it's up to personal references..
Good luck

Thanks for MDJ's great work! Very fast and stable!

if u want htc sense based rom that it has to be either leedroid v2.2.3 or android revolution 3.5
or
if u want a rom with no htc sense that it has to be cynogenmod7 for Desire HD
Thanks guys, simple straight forward answers.
Android Revolution 3.5 and LeeDroid looks to be the go as I prefer HTC Sense.
I have just install CyanogenMod 7.0.0 without Sense.
Everything looking good.
Phone HTC Desire HD
ROM CyanogenMod 7.0.0
Radio 12.48.60.23P_26.08.04.07_M3
HBoot 0.85.2007
Kernal 2.6.32.35-cyanogenmod
CWM Recovery 3.0.2.5 / Manager 3.0.1.4
ENG S-OFF / Radio S-OFF
I tried Cyanogen 7, coredroid and revolution 3.5 ..
And for me revolution definitely is the fastest, most stable. The other 2 roms showed my trouble in their first day, being sluggish or even hanging. But i've been running revolution without a problem for like 2 weeks now.
I only had the soft microphone and wheater problem. But these are known (do not occur to everyone) and there are tested and working patches out for it.
In a nutshell .... Am really happy with revolution 3.5
If your after the stock look, but customizable, and want the best battery saving Froyo ROM and kernel, definitely LeeDrOiD hands down.

RCMix 5.95, running fine on my device, nice and smooth. Also used he latest radio file and RIL file to go with it, signal and battery both seem good to me.
Ok, so I've tried to search for this but I always seem to fail. I'm looking for a stock Gingerbread ROM for my phone, and I dont want CM7. Is there any roms out there that are Google only, like a Nexus port or something?

Hi. I've found this thread and thought it might be useful for you. Check out this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071790
It seems to be AOSP with minor tweaks and NOT CM7
Thanks for that, I'll give it a try and see how it runs, although it seems that it's no longer being maintained.
Any other AOSP ROMs for DHD?
Currently i'm using BlackICE ROM, and it's 'kinda' AOSP, cause it's based on CyanogenMod v7.1.0.1 (NB 235). But it's worthy giving it a try. And, there's an issue with sound skipping randomly sometimes. Although it's very close to masterpiece IMO
How about Revolution and applying No-Sense script? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040 - second post
and check this one out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140749
have fun!
I've tried ARHD with no-sense, don't like it, I rather the normal one (I'm on 6.1.3 right not). I'm trying to avoid CM based ROMs, as I can pretty much get a CM build and tweak it myself.
I might try to get one running myself, cook up an AOSP ROM to share

And which ROM is the best for you depends on what you like in a ROM.
There are differences in speed, customizability, features and of course the design.
So if you state what you like in a ROM it's easier for us to give an advise.
First of all you should decide if you want a stable rom or the newest but not so stable one.
For beginners I would recommend Cyanogen Mod, thats a nice stable Ginger Bread Rom and you get a good support there.
But if you want to try Ice Cream Sandwich, I suggest you try Sandvolds Rom. I am using that by myself and its great...
Regards
You could also try one of the MildWild-releases. They are both pretty good. I'm using the version based on Oxygen and it works great, very stable and very fast.
I've used MildWild but didnt like it.
Using Cyanogenmod now and i'm really happy with the performance of the rom.
+1 for Cyanogenmod... its flawless and very flexible! go for CM 7.2+INT2SD, it gives 1GB internal memory (find it here)

If you want Sense ROM try any of the Runny ROMs
Try Ginger Villain rom

Miui xj!
If you havn't looked at this thread yet, now is the time.
Its a list of all the Roms for Desire, sorted by android version/ Sense version.
There is no "best rom" but like the others have said, you can't go wrong with CM.
Currently using Mokee OS, which is based on CM but with a whole new interface.
I have just sold my galaxy s2 and while I decide what to get next I dug out my old HTC desire. I want to give it and update it's running 2.2 at the moment.
It's the first time I've done this sort of thing so whats the best/easist rom to update it with and how do I do it.
Or if those two are a step to far, what stable rom would be a good replacement????
Hi,
Is it already rooted? s-off?
If not then you need to check out this thread for complete guide on how to root/s-off/flash custom ROM on the HTC Desire.
Once you do that you can click the link in my signature below to check the ROM Index for HTC Desire.
There are ROMs based on OS versions and also sense/non-sense/miui ROMs etc.
Most of the JB & ICS ROMs are still in development and probably not advisable for daily use.
Most of the GB ROMs are not being developed any more, but are probably far more stable.
For a GB ROM I would recommend MildWild based on Oxygen which was only recently updated.
