I know it is probably simple but I cant seem to figure it out.Ive tried about everything but I can go to settings and click on gingerbread keyboard but it doesnt change, Ive tried holding down about every key on the keyboard to get the input thing to come up but it never comes up to change the keyboard input style.Thanxs in advance
long press and input field.
Is there a way to continue using swype but on the Gingerbread keyboard? Or remove the warm z keyboard theme?
No, swype and ginger keyboard are separate programs.
You can simply install a non themed version of the stock keyboard.
Check out the first couple of posts on the warm z thread, there are links to tons of mods, including keyboards.

Great, I have 2 change requests:
1. The candidates highlights colours are still green. But they should be blue.
2. Black keys would fit more to our sgs2 than white.
ive posted up anougher option with black primary keys as for changing the candidate highlights to blue,i will need more time
Take all the time you want. No hurry

what's the difference between this and the HTC IME mod that you can theme yourself?
is this keyboard multi-touch?
can we have those blue buttons in grey instead?
I unfortunately do not get it out, did everything according to the described procedure done in under Languages & keyboard chops, but unfortunately I'm still propagated even the "old" keyboard?
Rom LeoMar75 if this helps any further and it is guilt?
Thank you in advance.
Thanks works super

ummmmmmm might not be compatible with that perticular rom
works great for me, though I don't use the default e-mail app so can't replicate the freezing.
Thanks!
What htc ime version is it? I already got one that doesnt require installation of the clicker_hi.apk or whatever its called, so just wondering if there are any differences?
thank you so much
works great
works on the Epic touch perfectly!
Same problem with stock's email app in SGS2
OMG...reminds me of my HTC years lol...
This is a great keyboard, but really need to get it working with the stock email app before its of any real use.
Keep up the good work and hopefully you will be able to sort this issue
Can you put in gray and black?
I'm guessing you can't edit this using the kitchen that the original creator has can you? Idk.

Thanks. I will try that. Also i prefer to use the gingerbread keyboard.
I use smart keyboard pro and use gingerbread theme and key resize to emulate the stock GB launcher. there are lots of language pack you can download from the market as well

Apologies to AndroidBoss who I've already pm'd but for the benefit of a wider audience I wondered if anyone has done this yet?
I have intermittant problems with the flex cable and have found a replacement with keyboard membrane on ebay. I've replaced the screen before so know how to open the phone up but like the threadstarter I cant find anything on taking the keyboard apart.
Is it messy and is it easy to put back together?
I was wondering, what are your guys favorite keyboards?
I really like the Sense keyboard, but the arrows are quite annoying, so the best for me would be the stock ICS keyboard, as it is pretty simple and very responsive and snappy.
I don't use any of that auto-correct crap either, what other keyboards can you guys suggest me? I've tried SmartKeyboard but I didn't really like the look of all their themes.
SwiftKey 3, nothing else gets even close to it.
Install that and forget about the others, believe me

Like I said, I don't use auto-correction, and I didn't find a way to disable it on SwiftKey at all.
Ok, thanks SwiftKey isn't the right for you because it's all about auto correct and word predictions.

I like the stock one and prefer to use it but if I had to change keyboards ( happened for some reason before ) I generally use Go Keyboard
Smart keyboard pro is quite good imo

Sorry for the old thread bump. Auto correct can be disabled (on the current version 3 i think) by going to advanced and selecting what space does. Change it to "always inserts space".
Also you can change your user profile to precision.
I use sense keyboard, and swiftkey 3. They are the best...for my fingers

If you are Running a deodexed ROM, you can use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612558
I installed it recently (on InsertCoin 9.6.2) and it works wonderfully!
Arabic Sense Keyboard
would you please help me find Arabic Sense Keyboard the official one (deodexed) that works with ARHD??
thanks in advance...
I use Swiftkey but it's a PITA that it doesn't allow you to set the height of the keyboard by numerical or slider values as I use a custom DPI.
A.I. Keyboard has a great implementation of this, you can slide the keyboard to any height you want.
I think at the moment though Swiftkey still beats it in auto correction accuracy, but I keep my eye on it each update.
I used almost every keyboard, but honestly I still think the stock Android keyboard is the best (Especially when I ran on Jelly Bean), and I hate the Sense keyboard, I don't know why.
go keyboard ! only beacuse the great themes
In Go Keyboard, is there a way to completely disable auto correct and hide the suggestions and language selection bar over the keyboard?
I love the themes for Go Keyboard but I also like my keyboard to be compact and since I don't use auto correct, I don't like to have any thing over my keyboard.
Last time I tried it, there was no way to remove that bar from the top of the keyboard. Is it there now?
Stock Jellybean Keyboard is my favorite, it's really fast.
Hey! If you like the Sense keyboard but without the arrows theres a theme you can install on top (HTC_IME) and you can choose your own colours too!
Right now im using bai du keyboard which actually is quite good theres a small row on top with numbers and you can do the swipe up and down for the alternative characters.

It says XT9. It is telling you your keyboard is in T9 predictive text mode
ProBAM Power
That is no bug...
That is supposed to be that way and it does not miss-align the keyboard.
That is the exactly as it is on EVERY HTC phone and it should be that way...
If you look at your PC's keyboard you'll see that the a is slightly offset relative to the q...

i see, thanks for the info, any way to turn that thing off? I was in keyboard settings, nothing about t9 found :/
You would have to turn off all references to prediction in the keyboard settings. Or just install another keyboard from the play store

I'd download either:
SwiftKey - Best for rapid typing with great auto correct
Swype Keyboard - Great for those who enjoy using the swype/flow features in Android (not having to lift finger off to type)
Kii Keyboard (Has multipurpose keys and has a number pad which I liked) above the keyboard [BEST FOR TABLETS]
They are my 3 favorite, in that order.
Bro chill... My keyboard does to... It says ViperX+ cuz that's the Rom I'm running but its nothing

Hi All,
Just switched from S4 to the ONE. Everything is great except for one thing that I've noticed. I don't mind the stock keyboard, but I prefer Swype a lot better. I installed Swype and chose it as default keyboard, however, upon reboot, the keyboard switched back to the stock keyboard. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, how did you fix this issue and choose the default keyboard as there is no option under settings and Language and Keyboards
I also had this problem and it looks like Swype is aware of it and are looking for the fix...
In the mean time.. After the reboot, open any method of typing ( I use the txt message window to any recent contact ) and once the keyboard is displayed, pull down the bar from the top (that has the time stamp). You will see a Choose input method box. Click on it and Select the Swype - Swype + Dragon option and you are back up and running. Happy swyping.
I switched to the Google keyboard because this was annoying me about Swype. I think the Google keyboard is actually better at swiping in general... Except punctuation. I also use "*" often and it's buried on the Swype keyboard.

First select the keyboard of your choice, disable fast boot (settings, power) reboot, check that you still have the desired keyboard, enable fast boot. It should persist after that.
