I have had Cyanogen 7 on my phone for about a week now, an recently i got problems with downloading most apps from the market. I have tried to clear cache and fix permission in ROM manager. And have allso innstalled GAPPS, but nothing seems to work. Has someone experienced simular problems, and maybe found a solution for it?
I really hope someone can help. I really like this ROM, so I want to try out everything before I switch to another.
Try cyanogenmod forums. There are a few threads about this (for example cyanogenmod->desire-gsm->experimental mod) . Have you wiped everything before installing?
I have CM7 installed on my Desire. I only have problems when trying to down Google Maps or Adobe Air. Apart from that I can download apps from the market. Try installing GAPPS from Recovery.
Thanks for the answers guys. Have allready innstalled Gapps from recovery, didnt seem to have any effect. Wiped everything before flashing to, but think im going to try to re-flash and see what happens. Read some place that you had to re-flash before innstalling GAPPS. Againg, thanks for the answers

Hi all,
I've installed LeeDroids rom several times and tried wiping and doing a clean install using CWM and also Easy Full Wipe. Once the rom has booted I'm finding that I still have apps installed there from previous times. Only time I've managed to get rid of them was when I installed Revolution but when I reverted back to LeeDroid they were there again. Any ideas on how to totally wipe everything or is this just normal? Thanks in advance for any help

Not all apps I have in the Market are installed though, only some. And why does it only seem to put them back when LeeDroids rom is on and not revolution?

I'm running the latest version of Clockworkmod which looks like it is most likely my problem for constant force closes on all my apps but i'm wondering if i can downgrade clockworkmod version to fix this if rom manager and all my other apps keep force closing? Any suggestions would be VERY appreciated. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else also I tried a search but didn't see any solutions.
I think you and I might have the same problem going on. All of my apps are force closing, but I am not sure if mine has to do with clock work mod or not. I still have not found a solution to my problem.
This may seem obvious to you and I apologize if it does but, did you wipe data and cache prior to flashing MIUI? I was running it recently without any issues at all. And I keep the latest version of CWM. It's an excellent rom. Smooth as butter.
Edit: I was running MIUI 1.2.19 with invisiblek, #28, by the way.

There is some speculation that CWM3 isn't wiping as well as CWM2 did... I can certainly confirm that it does not seem to clean everything out for a new MIUI install. On MIUI forums you can find a script to wipe everything first, or you can just open the "mounts" section and manually format /boot and /system. This seems to do the trick.

I can't say I've had any issues, personally but, I've definitely seen several comments about this around the forums. I plan on flashing back to MIUI soon. Just to be safe, I'll be looking for that script before I do it. Thanks for the heads up.

The way I solved my mass force close issue was to do a factory reset and then flash the rom I wanted. Maybe that will solve your problem also?
I ended up just uninstalling and reinstalling an app a couple times and it started working just fine, another question though. What's the best version of miui? And also what are the miui ports for? New to this Rom but its pretty seemless

Alright so this is odd, just updated to 1.1.28.1 version and none of my apps whether from the market or SD card will work on the first install, I must uninstall then reinstall for them to work. Anyone else have this going on? I guess its not a HUGE deal but still just weird

It seems likely that cwr 3 is a pos that is causing all these issues. I have started manually wiping everything needed to be wiped in mounts and my problems went away. Another alternative is to go back to cwr 2.5

MIUI Ports are the current versions of MIUI. The person who was creating the Inc builds used to be NIX, but when he passed the torch to Warttack, they needed to call it something different in ROM Manager (different packager, different section I guess). So basically, you should always be using the latest in MIUI Ports.
Everything is force closing on my nook color cm7 SD card. I am not much of a techie...any help would be appreciated. thank you.
Try fix permissions in ROM manager. You should post this in the nook color forum though.

Hi,
For some reason in rommanager I can only see up to #13 for the cyanogenmod nightlies?
Does anyone else have this problem?
The reason I bought the paid version was to get access to all of them.
Thanks
Paul
Well you got ripped off because Rom Manager is ****. Seriously, you should NEVER flash anything with Rom Manager or have it installed at that. Just download it from CyanogenMod, put it on your SD and install it via recovery.
Rom manager does what it is supposed to do and does it well.
The reason you do not see anymore nightlies is because there are no more. The nightlies got reset after RC1 was released. There isn't a new njghtly every night because sometimes there is no successful build.
Rom Manager does everything really poorly, seriously. It is useless and causes so many problems.

The main issue(s) is when you reboot. Say you flash a rom, when you reboot it tends to just reboot and not flash the rom or anything. It does stuff like that. Rom Manager tries to be the recovery but whilst booted up but fails. Fair enough, it works for some people but so many other people have problems with it. Ok, it has been developed for "noobs" and yes, I did kind of use it at first but then I found out from my own experience it didn't work too well. I think that people should forget about Rom Manager and just boot up into recovery and just use that since the recovery actually works, and only takes a reboot (depending on your rom) to get into it.
Why, do you like it?
I've noticed same issue with the nightly. I've tried manually flashing the newer ones, but get an error on the device check. So rom manager is correct 13 or RC2 are the latest that will install

Am a bit of a newbie to the custom rom world. So far rom manager has worked fine.
Am currently on cyanogen rc2 and have flashed my radio without problems. As a Java developer and a phone geek people think I am mad for mucking about with my phone so much.
The question was because I thought I had read there was a nightly 15.

I have had the same issue with Rom Manager. I had to download directly from the Cyanogenmod site
Just flashed 17 and it seems to be really fast!

I don't know if it's related, but I had trouble with CM7 RC2 when installed through ROM Manager, but manually flashing the CM7 Nightly #17 worked just fine. I wiped the caches etc. on both tries (or rather, ROM Manager did on the RC2).
I have posted this in the General section, however i think it should be here...
I'm updating a HTC Desire for a family member, the last rom installed was a villain 2.4 rom (it's been a while). I've updated the radio to the latest version ending in .23 and tried to flash the latest RunnymedeMod007, this is where I've encountered the problem. Im stuck on the opening HTC boot screen. And don't understand why, there's no reason for the freeze as far as i know. Should also note I've cleared every cache and wiped.
The second issue is that when there is a rom installed, the camera doesn't load and force closes.
Does anyone out there have any ideas why I've got these problems and could you help me out?
Cheers
have you wiped it a multiple times?
was sorted when I had the same problem

I've tried countless wipes and still ended up at the same point with the HTC screen.
I've followed the tutorial here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275632 for the problem but still nothing.

I'll sum it up quickly for everyone, I'm not a desire user and simply don't understand the system of flashing, could anyone explain what I have to do in noob language? or a tutorial thread that explains it all would do. Thanks for the help by the way.

Till today my play store worked very well.. I easily unlocked my device through htcdev and installed ARHD 5.0 and it worked like a charm no problem what so ever.. but when I thought, ( it's time for something different ) I installed Venesaur rom.. Here starts my problem the apps from the play store never gets downloaded or even updated.. Then I thought it was some problem with the rom. I then flashed the Leedroid 6.2.0. But still the problem persists.. ( As I've got more serious this time around... ) I tried wiping cache, dalvik cache, market cache/ data or even uninstalling updates.. But still no luck.. Please guys downloading apps from internet and installing is a bit unsafe? ( I think so.. ) I really need all the devs and experienced peoples help here.. as a fellow HOX owner hope you understand my situation and come up with a solution.. Thanking you all Hoping for the best---> solution
Try a factory reset? Try installing a stock RUU and see if problem persists on that. Alternatively try another market like AppBrain.

Okay will do that and let you know

btw.. one noob doubt.. how to flash stock ruu ?
nikzDHD
Btw.. i did a nandroid backup of my stock rom.. can i restore that after fastboot oem lock ?
it sounds to me like you are flashing things on top of each other making a remixed rom or you need to clear market data. also, every rom install or nandroid restore requires you at your pc flashing the correct boot.
Push the stock Google play using ADB into its correct location after deleting the existing ?
