I don't use Virtuous so I can't help with most of your problems, but for the mounted SD card thing, they mean you need to have the card mounted to your phone (i.e., not mounted to the computer). When your SD card is mounted to your computer, the phone has no access to it.
For no internet, did you make sure your APN settings are correct for your carrier?
As far as the overall performance, did you wipe data and cache when you flashed the ROM?
I have been running virtuous since it has been available, and I'm running the lastest now. are you sure you did a clean, wipe? Because all of those problems are strange and I don't have them. With screen off profiles, you cannot set them at the lowest setting and make the min and Max the same. Make the slightly different intervals. For more problems, just check out the actual thread for the rom, and you will find answers.

hi all,
as i was testing my new desire using the 4gb card it came with, i did all the rooting with that card in, am now running on defrost 3.1 and all my mods are done.
I tried to partition my other 8gb card using the rom manager on another phone as my phone wont run without the sd card in, then once that was done, i cloned the cards ie copied the data on my mac, then copied it off to the new card.
started the phone with the new card but most features of defrost are not available and alot of the apps are missing.
now when you go to the application manager, it shows you where stuff is installed but it says they are on the phone, presume this is cos a2sd is more of a tricking the phone than a physical change of location for the installed apps
anyway, so my question is, can you change the sd card without re installing the rom?
thank you in advance
anyone????

sorry mate didnt see this till now. in short no.
your phone should work without an sd in it, format the 8gb card use rom manager to partition or use AmonRa fake flash to partition (i prefer this way) and start over again. i know its a pain but its the safest way to do it.
i personally wiped everything on sd and phone so there was no partition and nothing on the phone, then i flashed my rom (dont do any mods yet) then either using amonra or rom manager, partition the phone may take a while to boot up but just LEAVE IT. then do everything again ie mods and apps. long i know but like i said its the safest way also you cant **** anything up.
hope this helps
Ok, so I have the stock SD card and lately it's been acting up. I went from Vaelpak to CM7RC2 and it took me a while to get the phone to actually recognize the card... Anytime I use a Sense ROM I never have problems with the card being read/recognized by the phone or my PC
So I'm back on RC2 and the phone reads the card just fine but the computer doesnt recognize it "kinda"..
When I plug the phone in via USB to the PC it usually pops up with a window with several options on how to view the contents of the SD card... No such window pops up and the SD card doesnt register in the Drive slot.. it just doesnt show up at all, like there's nothing in that Drive...
But, I can pull up Windows Media Player and look at some of the files on the SD card... So I'm confused, the computer can see some of the information but I can't read the whole thing...
I've tried USB debuggin on/off, mounting as disk drive and not, mounting/unmounting SD card, etc...
Any ideas? -- should I just get a new card or is there something else I can try?
You can copy the contents to the pc, then reformat it, then copy back...

Deleting the LOST_DIR folder has been known to solve the problem with CM7 and SD cards. Having said that, you need to be aware of the recent growing numbers of people boinking their EVOs. All of them were using CM7 and everything had been working as it should. All of a sudden, their device rebooted and have not been able to get into theory homescreen or into recovery. Read the posts the last few days and you will find many instances. I'm just alerting you to what has been happening. That's all so be careful.

I dont guess I explained myself very good... I can't copy anything to the PC if the PC wont recognize that there's a card there.. The PC just sits there and I've looked all over the place but the PC doesnt think there's anything put into the drive

I hadn't seen anything about the "boinking"... can you direct me to a thread? The CM7 RC2 thread or what?.. Not even knowing about those instances I was already thinkin about abandoning CM for now.. I've tried CM6 and several versions of CM7 but there's always something that just doesnt work right.. GPS, the SD card, facebook syncing, etc.. Looking at your Sig I'm thinkin I might try Warm again, it's been a while but I liked it alot... Thanks for the heads up

Yeah, that sucks... I was already about to give up on CM7 for now and that's just enough to push me back to Sense.. thanks
WOW! I'm glad I went back to Sense when I did.
Bricking my phone would end me!
im sure this has been discussed but for some reason i cant find it.... any way to disable the write protect on my inc2? im currently running Virtuous Affinity rom....
bump.... anyone else having this going on??? no matter what rom i use my sdcard is write protected, i can only add things while in recovery. cant move anything from my pc to the phone at all
Have you tried removing the card and formatting it(after backing it up)?
When did this problem start? Is it a new card? Did you install a new app? More info please.
yeah ive tried everything. it works fin when put in a adapter and plugged into my pc. its only write protect when in my phone. its been like this since i got the phone. others have the problem after updating their phone via the official OTA update back in july or whenever it was so i figured it was something verizon did. i dunno...
There might be another way to do this, but if you have root explorer go to the root of your SD card and click the button in the upper right corner that says "mount r/a". Maybe your SD was set as "read only" by a file explorer somewhere.
I bet estrongs file explorer has an option to mount your SD. I don't know, I've always used root explorer.

I've looked. I have no idea what's going on. The phone itself is somehow causing it to be read only. Works great in my pc. And the phone writes to it without issue. I've replaced the card but same results. Who knows...

Assumed that you are running Revolutionary's CWM, have you look under storages and mount ?
Running any security or anti-virus apps, etc. that might possibly be the source?
Do a backup of your mSD card first and then a Master Reset ?
Yeah I've tried changing the mount settings but didn't help. It was this way before I even rooted my phone. Since I downloaded the official update that came out around july

Do you have a backup/spare mSD card to put into the DI2 for testing purposes? Or, borrow one if you have none from an older phone ....
Reformat the card from Recovery and/or do a reformat again connected to PC, then try R/W again?
Or, instead of pulling your hairs out trying to get it resolved, spend $10 to $20 for a new mSD card - keep this as a spare/use it for other purposes?
I've been using CM10 and now 10.1 for a while now. I like it alot but im having a little issue...
I've searched XDA and found a couple of mention of this issue but no workaround or more info than the usual "yes, i'm also having this issue".
When i connect my phone to the computer, the SD card and internal storage are inverted, yet they report proper sizes.
I wouldnt mind if it was only a cosmetic issue, however i'm having issues copying files on my internal memory because my SD Card is full...
For exemple... when i plug my phone i see "SD Card" with 346mb free out of 59.4gb (using a 64gb sdcard) and i see Internal memory as 8.41gb free out of 12gb. If i want to copy a file that is bigger than 350mb on my internal memory, i have to go into "SD Card" and copy it there and then it fails to copy saying there isnt enough free space.
So yeah, while the cosmetic inversion doesnt bother me, the fact that it's checking for the required free-space in the wrong place before copying is a bit annoying.
I'm using my SD Card for music storage, i like to keep things separated and well sorted... so right now, my solution is to delete enough stuff on my SD Card so that it has more free-space than the files i want to copy on my internal storage
Any workaround other than that?

I'm not sure if there's a workaround but you could try mounting through recovery?
It sounds like a ROM problem, did you clean flash CM10.1?

I did do a clean flash. Over the holidays, i played around with AOKP and CM10.1 as i had issues getting my Wifi to work on CM10.1 and AOKP was working fine (ended up breaking in AOKP after the holidays too, had to change my router's setting from simple WPA to WPA2, but thats another story). So while playing around, i ended up wipping the phone a few times.
Sadly, i don't remember if the issue was also present in AOKP or if it was just CM10.1
I'm using TWRP, nothing shows up on my computer when i plug the phone while running TWRP. So i'm not sure...
Just for reference, here's two other posts with the same issue, both on CM10.1:

I'm not having this issue on AOKP, like I mentioned, it could be ROM specific.
As for TWRP, there should be a mount option.

Yeah, im pretty sure its ROM specific too...
For TWRP, there is a mount button, but it doesnt seem to be there for USB mounting. I couldnt find the option to mount anything on USB...
I backed up everything and ill do a complete wipe now, just to see if it fixes it...

Mount storage perhaps? Or mount internal/external.
I'm downloading a big file right now so I can't check but will check later if you haven't got it.

Well good sir, it seems like your initial assessment was quite correct. After wiping everything (Factory, cache, dalvik, format internal) and re installing CM10.1 latest nightly, my issue is fixed.
Now im reloading everything using Titanium Backup, hopefully i get all my settings back, without restoring the issue...
Thanks alot!
So been trying to work out this issue for past couple of days now. Galaxy W (obviously) PACman rom.
Updated to the latest version of rom, all fine but didn't go pristine. Eventually had some issues, biggest of which being I couldn't access internal SD card as storage, yet all my apps were working fine. So, tried again, went pristine, all fine for about a day, no issues whatsoever .... until dreaded internal sd unmounted. Tried again, pristine, double formatting everything and double clearing cache etc. No problems. Updated kernel to skull kernal to fix the bluetooth. No problems.
And now again, it's happened. I've tried to keep a mental correlation in what I'm doing to hopefully give me an idea of what's going on but not having much luck; hoping someone here knows what this issue is as it's driving me mad
I've changed my name in Google; could it be some sort of permissions thing?
USB; phone set to Media player, it might be it's happening after I've transferred but since everything is working fine, it's hard to tell
I've not restored anything, gone completly pristine (took hours) in an attempt to retrace my steps and not get this issue again. Part of me thinks I may as well just leave it as everything works, I can even install fine. But I can't browse it via any file manager or via USB, and a couple of programs I use (CoPilot for one) won't start properly because there is no SD card mounted.
Things I've tried -
CWM, fix permissions
Reboot
Checked Storage under settings, I can see how much free space there is etc.
Enabled and Disabled USB Debugging and tried to see it on my PC (nothing, external shows up fine)
Anything else anyone can think of before I wipe the lot and try again for a 4th time?

No idea why it's doing it, but yeah, seems to be the USB transfer. Problem solved.
So changed USB from Media Player to MTP and back again while connected to PC, internal storage now available.
Always the way, struggled with it for a few days, finally decide to post for help, and I solve it in less than 10 minutes of making the post :silly:
Knowing my luck, it's a known bug I've somehow glossed over in all information!
Edit - spoke too soon
After a reboot, same again. Everything "works", I can install and uninstall, but I can't browse the internal sdcard0 with a file manager or via PC. The above trick isn't working now.

Just thought I'd give it one last bump. Situation is that after every reboot, my internal sdcard is not mounted. I have to connect the phone to a PC via USB, then disconnect and hope that the phone mounts both sdcards. Usually works first time but sometimes I have to connect - disconnect 2-3 times before the internal card is mounted.
Anyone happen to know how to mount the internal card via command line? I could then workaround it with a script via smanager.
