idk why.. sometimes ill be on google maps getting directions and navigation my phone will reboot and boot loop over and over.. i have to take out my battery and like wait 3 minutes.. then theres a 65% chance it wont reboot again.. idk why..
Are you over clocking? flash a different kernel...rom?
Myns warm 2.2
netarchy-toastmod-4.2.1-cfs-bfq-havs-more-smartass-universal-signed
but this never used to happen before.. only started after i flashed a new splash screen..
Awkward...and you did correctly, all the right values, ect?
yea everything works perfect except random gps boots..
i wish i could record it an dput it on here..
ever since i did the splash screen the gps part has been out of wack reboot.. but ONLY if i open the maps and start playing with them.. about 10 minutes into navigation itll do it..
or if my phone gets to over loaded itll reboot and boot loop
Have you tried re-flashing the rom with a clean wipe? Backed up your apps and home screen settings, and when you restore, don't restore system settings, only apps and data.
yea.. i even flashed a whole new rom.. MIUI but kept getting random reboots with that rom.. so im guessing it was the splash screen change..
It might be. I would say try changing it, and see what happens. And I know with MIUI, if you don't change your wifi sleep policy it will give you reboots...
anyway you know of that i can get the stock splash screen again?
and what do you mean the wifi sleep??
Its attached. And by the sleep policy, I believe it is how your wifi turns off or refreshes [that line] ; I've never used it, so I couldn't tell you where the setitng is exactly.
well i really appreciate it.. i hope this stops the reboots ima flash it and play with the gps and try to over work my phone.. ill reply if anything..
Alrighty,I'll be floating around.
its not the original stock splash.. its the droid incredible splash is what you gave me..
i need the original stock one..
Woopsies...gimme a minute; My bad.

In the first post, download the zip. The original is located in there, and you can delete the others, and then flash it.
cool thanks man i appreciate it..
Anytime man.
Hey did you ever get the reboot prob fixed? I am having the same issues.

What's your exact problem?

So here is my problem...
3g is not working after installing a few roms, notably the 'New Guy ROM" and "Skyraider"..
It either doesn't connect at all, or stays stuck on 1x the entire time (VERY rarely 3g). Wifi still works fine. I have tried reflashing the same ROM different roms... right now the only one I can even get any data on is Redemption 2.1 (at 1x sometimes 3g).
I have tried updating the prl with *228, and have never had this problem before.. any idea's? Is my phone messed up for some reason? I didn't drop it or anything.. on the contrary, I treat it like a baby lol
*edit* I notice that whenever I try and use data, it turns of 3g- did I like over download or something?
& a little extra info,
I tried upgrading to the new 9.01 radio afterwards to see if it would work, which may or may not have made it worse... not sure lol
Also I think I accidently posted this in the wrong section! sorry =(
I've actually been having the same exact problem since installing SkyRaider 3.3. I'm about to try another ROM and if that does not work then going to try to go back to stock to see what happens. I'm really hoping I don't have to return my phone to Verizon because I really don't want to end up with an SLCD phone if it needs to be replaced.

Ya I think the culprit here is the skyraider update packet or something... Not sure
That would be terrible if we had to replace it lol
Calm down guys, it's not your phones. xD Or even SR! (maybe)
Anyways, fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8785751#post8785751
So like do i just reinstall a new ROM, then factory reset it? The order doesnt make sense to me... It didn't bring me to an "activate screen" on redemption rom
This may be a longshot and is going to sound crazy, but try reverting your splash1 and bootanimation to stock and see if it fixes it. A few weeks ago I had the same 3g problems after installing a custom splash1 and boot animation (not sure which one caused it), but reverting them back to stock fixed it.

Hmm, I'm trying to think of what I did to fix my 3G, and I think I RUU'd, and then factory reset. Try it! Nothing to lose xD

This worked! thx a bunch =)
On both Blazer (w/ rogue and Lost Kernel) and Calks 2.0 (only tried rogue) whenever I reboot my phone nine times out of ten, it hangs on the lockscreen with a random date and random time flashing back and forth between no signal and the regular status bar symbols. It is unresponsive to touch and repeats the process of the keys lighting up, screen comes on for about 4 seconds, keys turn off, screen turns off. Repeat... If I hit the power button, the pop up shows up but I can't touch anything so I end up having to do a battery pull and reflash the rom. I've re-downloaded both roms to rule out a bad copy. I over-wipe every time I flash a new rom formatting system, wiping data, cache, and dalvik, and then flashing Calk's format all.
I messed with it last night and it seems pretty random but more often than not, it happens. If I try to restore a nandroid I had made recently, it does the same thing. In other words, there were multiple instances where I flashed the rom, got it set up, booted to recovery to make a back up, and then it wouldn't boot back up NOR could I get my back up to boot up.
What in the hell could be causing this??? Please and 1000 thank you's!!!!
First of all, sorry to tell you I don't have the answer.
I have this exact same issue and have tried almost everything you have tried, (I didnt have a back up since I just got this phone not too long ago).
My issue started at work when my battery died really fast in the middle of the day after being fully charged. The phone got hot and I just pulled the battery to stop it. Then I came home and am having this exact same issues.
I've spent the last few hours working on resolving this without success. Hopefully someone out there knows how to resolve this issue.
Edit: I am on Rogue recovery 1.10 (cmw v 5.6.2.7) and on Blazer ROM [11/26/11] [v1.2]
Might be the rom since we are both on Blazer...Im gonna try another. Hmm we are on the same recovery too!
Thanks!
Why not flash back to stock and start over?

FIXED!!
I've got it working finally. For me, I just had to check Go Launcher as my default launcher. Now when I reboot, it loads up just fine. I guess it was hanging when it tried to open up the pop-up where you select your launcher if you have more than one and don't have one set as default. So, to the few people affected by this, set your favorite launcher as default and give it a try. Thank you to everyone for all of the suggestions.

Yes this has been an ongoing issue and posted in a few places. Also remember that when Go Launcher updates this may happen to you again. You can always use adb and push a launcher over to your phone incase you find yourself stuck like this again. Or delete launchers so there is only 1 choice
I finally got rid of this loop. I was able to flash a rom via the recovery menu in clockworkmod, since for some strange reason it won't recognize my sd card now.
Playya, so if I wanted to push a recovery on my phone (I have clockworkmod v. 4.015 installed but it won't recognize the sd card no matter what I do to it), can I do this from Root Explorer? ADB? What commands would I use? I am on Linux and am looking for a guide. Thanks.
Ok guys I am starting this thread because I cannot find an answer after searching...
Basically what my problem is right now is that upon reboot of my phone, I get to the lockscreen page and there is no slider to unlock with. Just my wallpaper and notifications bar on top. This happened to me last randomly without me doing anything major (moving apps to sd card, installing new themes, etc.). I simply clicked the screen off after a text and then couldn't unlock the screen.
I am currently running the InfectedRom on my Evo with netarchytoastmod as a kernel I forget which version. I have wiped dalvik cache and regular cache and tried a reboot. Still same problem. I wiped both caches again and reflashed the rom and still nothing. The only thing I can think of to do next is to do a full data wipe, but I'm trying to avoid that cause thats always a hassle. Any ideas out there?
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not saying its virus' rom,but i had a few bugs trying to use that rom, after the second time flashing it,for some strange reason,my phone would'nt install it anymore,it kept giving error messages. It looks like a real good rom,so whoever got that rom installed and running, let me know your trick, lol.Other than that,i can't give you an answer for your question.Good luck.
Personally I think its the best rom i've used up till now. Looked awesome and never had a single problem with it :/ Thanks anyways!
Ive installed a few different roms and when the phone boots up the animation, it reboots and just reboots at the HTC Evo white screen..
ive gone into the recovery and deleted the Cache and Davlik.. rebooted, and same thing... out of 10 boots, it booted 2 times successfully into the rom but then after 10mins, it reboots again and get stuck...

If your not running any scripts then I would try fresh download wipe all except sdcard battery and rotation and reflash don't flash any thing else until after you boot up then flash each additional item that you like one at a time rooting between each one that way you can find out what if anything is causing your problem hope that helps
ive used the wipe on EVERY options.. even wipe sdcard, battery and rotate screen option...
I dont flash any extras then the actual rom..

Then I would try a fresh download you may have a bad copy
I had the same issue on a replacement Evo, it had never been rooted. Eventually it wouldn't boot up at all, even after 20+ tries. I took it into the Sprint store and they ordered a replacement (they did check for s-off).
I would try running an RUU. If the problem persists, then do whatever you have to do to get s-on so you can get a replacement. I'm not familiar with the new rooting and unrooting methods, haven't done it since FroYo. If running an RUU will revert you to s-on, then I'd use an easily rootable RUU in case it solves your problem. Good luck!
Like plainjane said. In case you need to unroot and have it replaced, I'd follow captain_throwbacks thread at the mik-mik to downgrade radios and hboot to froyo (radio 2.15.00.11.19 hboot 2.10) before your phone becomes completely unalterable, then you'll still be root, and if the unthinkable happens, you'll also be in good shape for sprint checking your setup. Look in the general sub-forum,... much talk and info about this. Look for info from Captain_Throwback.

If you wiped your SDCard, then you have nothing on there. Definitely run the RUU and see where you can go from there
Might wanna check ur permissions ad well....not sure which rom ur running but the boot animations..are either in data....local....or says...media...resources ...if I'm remembering correctly ....long press and check ur permissions once you've found them

how long have yo let it go? Iv had a similar problem when i boot to a new rom for the first time. it goes through the splash screen, then to bootanimation, then back to splash then animation again. this usually happens 1-2x then once its all up, settled in and i have my settings and apps reapplied it doesnt happen again. Just my experience.
the only problem is....
Im not on sprint.. heck im not even in the U.S.
Im up in Canada. I bought this phone for my media player instead of an ipod, which is more (got this phone for $50) and for taking pictures... If its dead (i hope its not) then its no big deal...
also, i have a habit of backing up my important info and wiping my SDcard when install a new rom..
im kinda getting fed up with this constent reboots..
im thinking if I flash the stock RUU, this would unroot my phone.. then I will reroot it.. would this be a good idea??
I read that the lastest RUU cant be unlocked yet.. so which is the latest version that can be unlocked and s=ff?

Amon RA, from the following link. Flash it via hboot using PC36IMG.zip

IIRC, after i flashed this recovery, i started having these issues... before I was on the revolutionary recovery and didnt have any issues..
Hello XDA-Forum
As of today this is my first day and post here.
As a noob ( I watched the video on reg, i found it funny yet noobfriendly D: ) i would like to ask some questions that the all-mighty search button could not find me, or atleast i could not find
I whacked my head all day searching for a way to root my HTC Wildfire S a520e running on 2.3.3 stock marvel s-off phone
and after by mistake factory reseting it, twice....
I finally managed to root it with OneClickRoot or something.
Then i tried to to what i originaly wanted to root for, Overclock.
But after downloading the rom i got from a youtube video, it f**ked me up good.
Now my phone is overclocked, but is slower. and the menu's are all glitchy and white and wrong.
I would like to ask how to return to the stock rom of 2.3.3 that i so much desire.
Meanwhile while i await your answears of joy, i am downloading Cyanogen 7.2 Rom that i found on the interwebs and should so-fit my tiddy little wildfire s.
Toodles.
I installed Cyanogen... and .... well i don't like it (Q_Q)!
i want my old 2.3.3 back (cry)
It feels slower, i don't like the UI
EDIT:
Now that i look at it again.. it's not that bad qq
but where's the android market/google play ?
You need to flash Google apps package from clockwork mod recovery:http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip for market to work.
If you want to go back to stock, download a ruu installer for your region eg euro, Asia etc from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074445
Install from a windows pc
As un-adaptable to new stuff i am and as much i hate change.
I find this cyano-genic blue colour to be semi attractive.
and i decided i'll keep it.
I read that cyanogen has built in overclocking.
Where can i see the hardware? i try'd in about settings but it doesn't say there.
For overclocking go:
Settings
Cyanogenmod
Performance
Cpu
I find this slightly more complicated than the normal android sense, but herpyderpderp atleast i'll be the only one in my class with a custom rom 8D
All the others are iOS/IceCreamSandwich richbishes D:
Is there something Cyanogen can't do that the original android stock can do?

You might need to reflash.
Clear your data and dalvik in cwm
Flash cm7 latest nightly
Flash gapps
On first start take your time DONT press the android right away.
Give all background apps and SD time to load, maybe 30-60 seconds then press it and continue setup.
I have had that issue in the past.
Hope it helps you.
CM7 is a great rom, so customisable enjoy and make it your own.

I factory reseted.. i hate having to do that.....
it got stuck at cyanogen 7 loading boot, will this happen again if i use the thing you gave me for android?
damN! factory reset didn't fix it, how do i reflash when i deleted the file from the SDCard? now i can't put it back on the SDcard
EDIT: I got the file on again, but this software is way too fragile...
http://pockethacks.com/htc-wildfire-s-custom-rom-android-2-3-3-gingerbread/
Is that older or new'r ?
And can i get THAT interface on my now installed rom?
EDIT:
Stuck at HTC, still wown't load after re-flash
Did you wipe data and dalvik?
Its important you do!
Use this cm7, latest nightly build http://cm7-wildfire-s.googlecode.com/files/update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-03_29_2012.zip
I'm thinking of getting this http://code.google.com/p/cm9-wildfi...rc0-unofficial_rom-alpha0-signed.zip&can=2&q=
So far so good, it has minor problems i don't like
but what can i do -sigh-
there's an option called "Data Enable"
Does that take like money or anything?
also how can i use Voice Speech in this rom?
i wanna be able to talk on skype and it turns out as text
just as a question, could there be a problem during the installation, becouse the clock on the start seems to not be visible, it said some kind of error and i removed it from the screen. also it has 90mb free now
feels like first time i installed it it had like 110
THe clock on the lockscreen? You probably changed a setting. Or a clock widget? You probably deleted it. Just hold on the home screen and re add it form there.

Yes that worked, it wasn't deleted i guess.
I pretty much set up my phone overnight. (now my body hurts from exhausture)
I'm still haveing problems setting things up like voice to text on skype and other stuff.
Overclocking crashes my phone a lot. I know that happens but it happens like every 20 mins or something.
Also can i UPDATE from 7 to 9 without having to start over.
just update?
UPDATE: Also, i loose some files from sdcard (games installed) when it crashes when overclocked sometimes.
What the... i restarted my phone and all the stuff on SDCard is deinstalled, gone D:
EDIT: It came back after 5 mins
EEK!
I was putting some stuff on my SDCard when suddenly i open proccess list and on SC card it says No applications, 1.4 used, 431free but nothing QQ Hawp
all my icons are now with the android pic on them D: helppp
I'm starting to hate this already D:
Also my google play went back to market
