Hi Just found this can anyone Brave enought confirm it works for our Hero
I am too nooby to even try it without some nice Dev telling us that its ok to flash it

courtsey of macaronymax.. I tried the bottom link and flashed the zip file on my gsm hero with ele's rom and it installed fine.
Find It a bit laggy and the auto correct doesn't seem to work that well..I suggest a nand backup just incase

Hi Guys Just a Note that Elelinux's Special Edition Rom with His Private THeme has the Gingerbread Keyboard Preinstalled which is nice of Him..
And you can Even alternate between the Gingerbread Keyboard and Htc Keyboard

Tried it, but it says error while flashing :/

are you running a 2.2 rom or 2.1 cause it says it will only run on a 2.2 rom.
I do hope one of the devs can sort it out for us or include it in their roms

yea I've discovered that this version (in post I quoted) works great! for anyone who says no dictionary is included with it, that's not true. in catch notes, gtalk, and certain other apps I see a dictionary/prediction row that works great.

i downloaded from a diffrent forum.. but I can confirm that IT WORKS on Hero.. and it's not laggy at all.
Have to have CyanogenMod-6.0 or 6.1 installed.... or based on!

What forum did you download it from? I have it installed and it is kinda laggy,
and @mdon874 i dont think the auto correct is working either

Guys im using the keyboard but cant seem to get dictionary working ....it just looks up the contacts and show in autofill.....can anyone confirm if this is working ?

[Q] Gmail Margin Problem with Gingerbread ROMs

Does anyone else have problems with the right margin in Gmail, where there's a good-sized gap of whiteness? See the screenshot below to understand what I'm talking about. It happens to me just about on every ROM that is based on Gingerbread. I can rotate my screen to landscape mode, then back to portrait, and it's fine. But, when I close Gmail, open it back up, it happens just like what you see in the attachment again. It totally sucks.
Thoughts?

Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

Just for the record, I have tried the following gapps with various Gingerbread ROMs, and these do experience the right-margin issue in Gmail.
- gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip
- gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
I've never had this problem running the following ROMs...
- Virtuous 1.0.1 (HTC Sense)
- GingerVillain 1.5 (Gingerbread)
- all Froyo-based ROMs
Just hoping someone has a simple fix, tweak or anything to get around this problem. Thanks.

I don't have this problem, not sure if I ever did but if I did, I didn't notice it. I'm running a rom that's based on a CM 7 nightly after RC2, can't remember exactly the version. First try to go in to app management and clear all app data for Gmail and see if that fixes it for you.

I've done all of that on various CM7-based ROMs, and it doesn't help. Running a ROM based on HTC Sense (i.e. Virtuous 1.0.1) has zero Gmail issues whatsoever, so it's apparently related to Gingerbread... or something Cyanogen related. I just wish that stock Gingerbread comes out soon, one that is truly AOSP based and not filled with Cyanogen. I have nothing against CM in any way shape or form, I just want to have a taste of PURE Gingerbread.

I have had problems with several verisons of gapps but this works for me : gingerbread-gapps-12302010.zip

Of course I did that. I always do a full data/cache/dalvik wipe between ROMs. I don't have this problem with non-Gingerbread ROMs.

okay so I got the same problem with my nexus one. x10,desire ž and desire hd on cm7. I'm not sure if its supposed to be this way but it's quite annoying once you notice it

I am also having this problem with Gmail on CM 7 nightly 30. Honestly I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out. Only seems to happen with text though.

[Q] Camera Force Closing

Hi I've recently rooted my phone & when I went to use the camera, it force closed on me. I'm running CM 6.1.1 and I'm still fairly new to this but I'm wondering why its doing this. Can someone help me out? I've already cleared the data and restarted the phone. Do I need to try and use another ROM or is that not called for? TIA!

Well, I reccomend you use CyanogenMod 7 not 6 because a. Its newer, and B. 6 is no longer supported, so any issures arnt concerns, so give 7 a go

remember when installing new roms, once finished go into rom manager and fix permissions. this helps with apps fc

Thank you so much! I'm not really ready for Gingerbread on my phone yet (still new to rooting and getting used to froyo which I'm loving). I didn't know about the fix permissions thing (learning something new) and I'm running it right now. Thanks again for the advice!

[HELP][TEMP RESOLVED]Flash Player 10.2 Update[HELP]

Problem is after updating from market to new Flash Player 10.2 I no longer able to view any videos online...like utube fro example(desktop version) will only play sound but playback screen stays black, all buttons on the player work.
Currently running CM 7.0.2 w latest pershoot kernel if it makes any difference, I also tried that on stock CM kernel.
I also looked on reviews for the app and there were other people with the same issues, so I was wondering is there way to fix it?
[EDIT]Downloaded and installed 10.1 and flash player doesn't work at all, telling me to download latest verions from website.
Also flashed latest CM nightly, tried both versions of Flash player, same proble
[TEMP SOLUTION] thanks to f9232275 for his find, its seems that 10.2 version is only supported by Oper Browser which u can find on the market and its free. So good luck untill 10.3..

No backup in Titanium?

I'm running the same setup and ran into the same problem. I wiped data/cache for the new version and uninstalled it. I found an older version of Flash on 4shared and installed it after using cachemate. Everything is back to normal now

i too had this problem, and i also tried the 10.1 trick, but it didnt work. i went on the market and reinstalled 10.2, and in the browser settings i set it to 'on demand'
browser>settings>enable plug-ins>on demand
it worked for me, and i am on CM7 7.0.2

The new update also broke flash on the evo as well. Submit a bug report to adobe or wait for cyanogen to fix it himself.

Android browser still works on and off on some sites n videos, firefox doesn't work at all, oper is a confermed kill eork everywhere.

thank god for titanium back up, I really didn't want to restore to one of my emergency backups...
Does not work on the G2 with CM7. who's fault is this CM or Adobe?
The best thing about droid OS is the flash player! >.<

Yeah, I restored from Titanium as well. Flashplayer 10.2 doesn't work in Dolphin, either. So screw 10.2, I'm back to 10.1 until they fix it.

10.3 is out, bug is still persisting for me. CM7.0.3 on my Desire Z.
10.1 doesn't seem to be fixing it for me either.
Can someone confirm what exactly they've done to fix it and any limitations? I wonder if it is fixed in any of the newer nightly builds...

I had to get a 10.2 off 4shared for it to work. The 10.2 update before the 10.3 was broken for me also.

[Q] HTC wildfire s sms problem

Hi, I am from India. My problem is that
I am unable to send more than 1 sms at a time I mean multiple sms or more than 160 words sms through my HTC wildfire s A510e mobile. I get error as unable to send sms after multiple attempts. I can send only single sms or 160 words sms at a time without problem. I had called HTC help centre and they told me to do factory reset but it didn't help me. I tried with other network provider also but get same error. My mobile is rooted one. please help me.

I had the same problem + lag issues with SMS on sense roms. But it disappeared on Senseless ROMs like Cm or MIUI. Maybe switch to them?

I heard cm 9 is like ice cream sandwich and improves good battery life. please give me latest and good cm9 Rom for wildfire s. My presents Rom of HTC eats much battery.

Try Install GO Sms Pro and then go into setting, there will be option for sending sms more than 160 words..
If it does not help than Root and flash new ROMs..

I tried with go sms pro already but it does not help me. So tell me which Rom will be perfect for HTC wildfire S a510e ?. what about cm9?

After using custom ROm I realised that stock ROm is better. so I again installed stock ROM. when Google play got updated again sms problem started. so I removed that. again Google search got updated and again problem started so I removed it also. Now after rooting again problem started of multi sms. I don't understand what the problem is there in this handset. In custom ROM I was not getting any problem while sending multi sms. I got fed up of this mobile now.

Thanks brother at least you replied and shown interest to solve my problem.

Today I installed wildchid v4 which has sense and found same problem of sending sms. But in others ROM no problem. So can be problem in the sense only?

Yes, I guess it's just sense's problem only. Other ROMs have problems in sending too but that's after 100 SMS per hr limit of android. That has a fix but IDK what the heck is wrong with sense.

Yeah Friend. but one point to be noted is that When we I installed new Sense or Stock ROM, I havent had problem in sending multiple messages but as soon as android market app got updated to google play, problem started. I have noticed this 3 times by installing ROM again and again. So any expert please find solution for it.

I really don't think market has anything to do with SMS sending. They both are different apps. And they barely even cross. It must be something else.

Nandroid means making a full backup of rom including all the apps. Just in case anything goes wrong you can restore it and your phone will be as it was before screwing it up.
To make a nandroid, Go to any recovery and backup.

I have not understood the following procedure

Please elaborate

When I enter sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
after adb shell I get error as permission denied. My phone is rooted and also have latest super user installed.
