Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the htc lock screen? Or if the non sense version of "Android Revolution" uses the standard android lock screen? I know it sounds petty, but it is my biggest pet peve about sense branded phones. Any help would be appreciated.
I use an application called No Lock. It has a widget that you can switch between having the screen lock on or off. Or you could just switch it off from the within the app.

53, there are 'themes'/'skins' you can download which have various lock screens. I personally prefer the look of liamstears(blue), which you should find works fine if you're using RevolutionHD ROM. There's a link to liamstears theme in the 2nd post of the RevoHD thread.
Actually, if you're feeling adventurous, you can create your own theme (there's a thread on this forum somewhere about how to do it)... I believe you're just looking to change the lock screen look, rather than getting rid of it completely, right?

Can we get the nexus lock screen for the evo? lol maybe that sounds stupid but I like the lock screen on the nexus so if its available can someone point me in the right direction?
Also quick question about the phone bar at the bottom, is there a diffrent version other then the stock one floating around that we can use? Not a big fan of launcher pro, ill try ADW next but really dont think I will like that one either. Either way after using launcher pro I have some real respect for HTC sense lol.
Also I am on the OMJ rom but I am willing to switch to another rom if needed.
this isnt the forum for this. this should be QA. anyway, if you are referring to the vanilla lock there are some roms that implement it. i have it on my fresh rom. there are issues with the vanilla lock and the htc clock app. you have to replace both to avoid issues with alarms if im not mistaken. i hope this helps. try to post in the correct forum next time. thanks

try fresh or damage control. both have the option thru the the built in updaters to change to the vanilla lock screen(nexus) and the rosie bottom bar..
Thanks both of you.
Does anyone know how I can change the evo lock screen to the android lock screen like on the droid. It just looks so much better. That would be cool
Wrong forum.
Check under "Themes and Apps" for stuff like that.

No problem. - The original Sprint boot animation is so ugly I just can't believe they'd hire someone to make that stuff happen at Sprint.
Here's another link on how to apply a boot animation:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697527
I think he was asking about the lock screen, not boot animations...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesnt the droid use the stock lock screen? If so, this is a theme in damagecontrol
I juss don't like the stock lock screen for the evo.i like the android lock screen better
Is there a way where I can still change my htc sense lockscreen to the droid lockscreen without rooting?
It was late last night. He DID ask about the lock screen.
My whoops!
Well at least be know how to add custom boot now.

doubtful, you need to be able to remove the htc lock screen apk i believe.
Well do I have to root my phone in order to run the boot animation?
I don't want to root my phone yet that's why, but maybe if I just do what you said
I think so, because to modify the boot animation files you have to have access to rw system
there is an app in the market to change your lock screen.i think is lockbot or something like that.

Yeah, he asked for the DroidX lock screen, not lockbot or anything else.
{does anyone know how I can change the evo lock screen to the android lock screen like on the droid}
LOCKBOT IS AN APP TO CHANGE YOUR LOCK SCREEN, you can change it to look like the one on the droid, you can chage it so it looks like the , iPHONE,ECLAIR,Froyo,x10, and galaxy, i think this would do what you want!!
ps. to the one that posted above me, are you forealz, do you even know what lockbot is???
Ok cool, then I guess I'll lockbot thanx guys
Installed vanilla lock screen by removing the htc sense one and loving it. Only problem if when my alarms go off when the screen is off I can't turn the alarm off. Any ideas for a solution?
Thanks

I believe you have to uninstall the HTC Clock and use the Vanilla clock instead. This is what i did to get it to work on the Fresh ROM. Not sure if there is another way but this is what worked for me and after installing fresh 3.2 i havent put the vanilla lock screen back on since it doesn't show the music app when its locked.
The world clock doesn't work well with the vanilla lock screen. You have to download a theme from the fresh updater that removes the world clock and adds the vanilla clock.
yea just go to Fresh's website geekforme or do a search for vanilla lock and he has a set of choices for you
here you go http://geekfor.me/hero/fixes/bugfixes-requests-lock-screens/
So whats the big deal with the vanilla lock screen? Everyone seems to like it so much better then senses. I don't use the music app, so i don't have a need for that functionality.
i jsut like how it looks i like having the 2 slides (one for silent one for lock and like the side to side vs the down.
overll it functions almost exactly the same except for cosmetics. so it is really a personal prefrence
I searched the whole forum and have not found a similar thread, so I start to doubt if just I have this question...
My question is:
Android has built-in windows opening and closing zoom animation. When I got my Desire I found it doesn't have the zoom animation. OK, let's say the HTC Sense UI does not go this way. Today I wiped all the data and flashed an OpenDesire ROM. This time the zoom animation is there when I tap to launch an app, but the closing zoom animation is still missing when I press HOME or BACK to go back to home screen... There should be a zoom out animation, am I correct? What I see is that it just flash back to home screen directly, no animation...
Anyone has some idea on this issue? Thx.
Use Spare Parts to set the Window animations, transition animations and even the speed of those animations.
I installed Spare Parts from the market. It seems that I can only set the animation speed, but no switch to turn on/off the zooming animation...
As you know i have the same query ... the reason that opendesire has the zoom effect is because it uses LauncherPro - you can also download it for the other roms... that makes the apps zoom when open / closed... but unfortunatly it doesn't support the htc widgets which is y i do not use it
Kris
I don't think OpenDesire uses LauncherPro, Adam says OpenDesire is compiled purely from Android source code, and all 3rd party apps used in the ROM are exciplitly listed. The effect is built-in with Android, you can confirm it by trying the emulator in SDK.
havent actually looked @ open desire ... but the screenshot looked like it was using it... guess the user could have installed it after tho

Ok perhaps you are correct, I think opebdesire just used a subset of LauncherPro to build the stock launcher. Anyway I installed LauncherPro and found it even faster than the stock one, of course the animations are there as I expected...

Anyone found a way to get these animations on sense?
Why in the world would HTC disable these animations, and not even give us the option to enable it? It's really annoying!
I remember (but not clearly) HTC Hero has this animation built in with Sense, any idea?
Hi all,
Is it possible to get the Home page screens to rotate and things like the diallers etc? Although auto rotate is on, lot of things like this don't rotate. I'm using a pretty much stock Orange ROM.
I know on my old windows HTC Touch Diamond phone there was an additional app that allowed me to override these home screen settings, thus forcing most screens to rotate.
This is very useful when you use the phone as a sat nav device that is mounted in landscape. Of course, when you bring up the contact list to navigate to, or the phone rings, everything goes to the wrong - well back to normal - but difficult to see unless you tilt your head which is not a good idea when driving!
Many thanks for any help
AFAIK, you have to replace the Rosie Launcher apk, and this is only available if you are using a custom HD/Z port ROM.
Ahh, bugger. If there was an Orange ROM out there I would do this, but with no way back to a stock image on a relatively new works phone, I simply can't justify it yet. What a shame this can't be added to a normal ROM.
There is another way! If you are not determined to stick with sense, use Launcher Pro. See what you think. No rooting or flashing required. Just download from marketplace.
It has the option to rotate the home screens. Personally I also think it is also smoother and has more customizing options than sense.

Cheers for that. Now we open a full Pandora's box. I didn't realise quite how the widgets are integrated with the launcher. I loose many of the sense widgets that i use to frequently such as currently appointment due, coming agenda, fully calendar email notification (not gmail but exchange, really miss this one), power bar etc.
I assume a lot of these could be added a separate downloads. I juts now have to start figureing out what they would be.
Lol. Sorry, should have made that clearer. There are plenty of choices for replacing the HTC widgets. The paid version of launcher pro has a tidy calendar, but if you are looking for free alternatives, I've found that the 'post your screen shots' thread in the 'themes and apps' section is a good way of seeing what other people are using...
