I am looking to get the slimmest case possible for my Captivate. From the research I have done so far it looks like the BodyGlove TPU or the Innocase II Surface might be the best options. Can anyone who has some experience with these cases comment on how much bulk they add to the phone?
Thanks.

The cheap Ebay/Amazon silicone rubber cases are probably the thinnest.
What's wrong with a skin?

I use the Amzer Luxe Argyle style case. It's thinner than the Bodyglove. Only problem is the power button is a bit harder to push through the skin.

Hmmm... I don't think those are very thin. In fact, from the very first post in the thread you you link to: "The case is pretty thick".

I considered it, but I think I want a bit of impact protection. I will likely skin it underneath the case so I can use it without as well.

Yeah I was going by my previous silicone cases and I just got my Body Glove and that case in the mail and it is thicker than the Body Glove.

every thought of just grabbing a full body invisiblysheild kit?
the stuff was developed to protect the blades on helicopters
military grade screen protection all around.
no bulk no case no nothing. except film,
The Body Glove Mirage has been working great for me so far. Its quite thin
I just got my argyle case off ebay in the mail. I am thoroughly impressed in the quality and fit, very well worth it for the $8.53 I paid. I like it more than my body glove TPU case.

Has anyone had any problems with it coming loose? Does it make it too bulky? I'm coming from a inspire, with a thick speck case,so as long as it isn't like 3 inches thick, ill be fine lol

I carry my Atrix in a Commuter in my pocket all the time. My buddy has his Atrix in a Defender and he likes to use the belt clip. The Commuter is def more pocket friendly than the Defender. I wouldn't want to carry the defender in my pocket if that helps.. As far as it coming loose, I doubt that would happen with either Otterbox case.
Defender - Hard plastic inside, rubber out
Commuter - Rubber inside, hard plastic out

Have you noticed the rubber warping a bit? Mine is a little loose now, and I'm not sure if its because its too hot in the pocket...
Yep. warping on the bottom. Did anyone ever realized that the belt clip can be used as a stand?... I dropped my jaw to the floor. Just push the belt clip all the way till it clips.

I have A commuter on my atrix and it's probably the best case I've ever had on any phone. It's flush with the phone at every point and hasn't warped, at least for me. I highly recommend it

Yea, a few of us have posted on other threads that the Defender silicone will warp and not fit correctly. I've replaced mine already and within a few days it started doing the same thing. Waiting for Ballistic to get around to making these.

I am using this case with my Atrix and it's very protective, but for that reason it's bulky. If you know you are gonna doing some heavy duty use with your Atrix - I recommend this case. Haven't had the warping issues described by other posters.
I'm selling a lightly used commuter... pm me if interested

I have had all 3 otterbox cases/phone covers/shells whichever you'd like to call them.
Impact was junk, just a slip on case, spend the extra 5 bucks of whatever to get the Commuter.
Commuter is sweet, I use it as my every day cover when I'm not at work my only complaint is that the rubber around the top speaker and camera is stretched looser than a porn star's asshole but the case looks and performs well. A screen protector is a must since the commuter does not have a built in one like the defender.
Defender is pretty sweet, I do construction and i am constantly banging into things and I have to use my phone a lot. It's very durable and keep it protected I dropped it off the 4th story of the retirement building that's going up and I ran down and picked it up and works perfectly. Obviously it's far too big for fit in pockets, hahaha. Hence the reason it comes with the belt clip, it looks and performs its job superbly. My only gripe is the rubber sometimes gets loose around the edges but that's no big deal.

+1 I don't do construction but I really like the defender as well. All the protection is really reassuring
I even learned to like the bulkiness it adds cuz with this case the phone looks brutal,
since i unpacked my atrix i wear it in a commuter case, it fits just fine and it makes it a bit bulkier and stylish.
i recognized the rubber is stretching through the physics i learned in school - on very hot days the rubber doesnt fit THAT exactly, but nothing i cant handle with.
i will never buy anything else than otterbox for my phone ^^
i guess the commuter series is hot on the top of what u need of an protective case - i still got no problems with the delivered screen protector, no touch issues.
if you prefer wearing your device on your belt you may pick the defender series
hope this helps
So after all the advice i went with the commuter. But....where could I get a belt clip for it? (other than ebay)

The commuter doesn't have one. Just use a generic "pda" case. NiteIze has some really good ones.

I'll sell you my defender case cheap. It's like the commuter but has the holster. I got the Seidio Surface case cuz it fits in the laptop dock plus its less bulky.

Let's not spam the board by creating identical threads. If you want to sell your case, go to the marketplace...
I finally found a great case. It fits extended battery. The Krusella leather pouch. No stupid belt clip, which is the best.
I am totally digging it.
Protection is not amazing, but good enough for me. Good enough for government work too...IMO.
Who else has a case they love?

I'm actually requesting a refund for my shield so I won't be parting with my defender for a while. I may look at getting a commuter, and then I'd sell it, but not until then.

I had a defender case when I had a BB. I like the commuter on my Dinc2 even better.
Seidio Surface Case. I can't imagine going with anything else. Bulky cases are too bulky. Silicon is too floppy. TPU hasn't been up to par with fit.
Seidio Active here. Absolutely love it!
IMHO, perfect case for this phone, adds the right amount of weight without being too bulky.
Also offers very good drop protection. With this case on no worries if it drop it, unless on concrete, but that barley ever comes out good!

Amen! I've had this case for nine months now...I bought the Otterbox Defender first. It was way to bulky for my taste. I LOVE the Seidio Surface thought, just enough protection while remaining slim.
I have a few.
Bodyglove colored case.
Qmadix case with holster.
Casemate tough case.
Trident Ageis case.
Krussell case for fancy outfits lol.

Unfortunately I have to stick with a silicon case with a little thing that helps me press the unlock button. It's sort of like a button replacement in a case! Wish I have a plastic case though. I could use volume wake....
I've had a Seidio surface case for a while, i'm currently using the incipio featherlight. Mixed feelings on both. Seidio comes apart a bit too easily, but the featherlight is kinda flimsy.
Silicon

Silicon cases are actually pretty nice (imo). Got a while ago and is holding up really well. Protected my phone from like a 4 1/2 foot drop onto asphalt and was still good

I really want one of those cases but I don't want to set up a pay pal. Those cases seem to be the go to case for extended batteries. I unfortunately purchased the ****ty Hyperion "case" and it f**king sucks.
With the normal battery, I used the Otterbox Commuter Case. I felt the phone by itself was too thin where I was scared of dropping it. The otterbox texture was pretty good and the dual casing added drop protection.
With the extended battery, I am using the moretalktime TPU case. Feels great, but like others have said, fitment is a little off.
It looks like what was i used in past on my inc2... cool

I wonder if it would help if you (VERY LIGHTLY) hit it with a heat gun and shrunk it a tiny bit.
Anyone care to spend the $ to find out?
I wanna get a otterbox case which would be good commuter or defender? Has anyone using these case? Are they lint magnet? Cause my incipio silicrylic is lint magnet.

I have both and they're both great cases. I do feel a bit of a creak when I have the commuter case with the slim battery but not the extended. Its not really aa big deal. Honestly, they're both great cases and you can't go wring with neither. Personally I like the Defender better
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
The Defender is built like a tank. I had a friend who used to demo it by throwing her phone across the store (iPhone) and it never got damaged.
There isn't really anything special about the Commuter. It's just a standard two piece but you pay for the Otterbox name. The Incipio double is nicer.
I am looking for protection, and feel. I hate the otterbox defender, I don't like the plastic feeling to it. I want a good case with a kickstand, a glass covering and protection. Anyone know of something like this?
So you want something like the defender or not as bulky?
Trident Kraken is similar to the defender http://www.tridentcase.com/shop-pro...xus/kraken-ams-case-samsung-galaxy-nexus.aspx
