framework-res.apk - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi
i just installed an application to change my battery Icon.
after it rebooted my DHD, it stocked.
i think the problem it because of framework-res.apk?
is there any way to replace the original framework-res with the moded framework-res?
DHD is rooted, and i have recovery menu, but it doesn't have any"install from SD" option in it, so i cant install any custom ROM.
can anybody help me with the script and an original framework-res?

If you upload me your original framework-res.apk, i will make you a .zip you can flash from recovery

[Q]How to replacing Battery icons manually?

Is this possible to replace the battery and other task bar icons? I found the png files inside the framework-res.apk file and tried to replace them but the phone will not boot now... Any ideas if this is possible?
Alot of factors come into play when you do this . One is the framework designed to accept all the different png files you are adding to the rom . Basically if a rom is designed to display 100-0% as opposed to the stock Evo rom that only reads at 20% incriments . Also is the rom you are attempting to modify odex or deodex ? The best way I found of changing icons on roms I like is find a zip file where someone has already modified the icons . Use something like Winrar to explore the zip file and change the needed icons to what you want . Then flash the zip , there might be easier ways of doing this but that is the only way I know of personally . Just becareful with what you poke around inside framework . It will cause issues with the phone when its trying to display information and doesnt know how to display the correct images .
I am not sure if it was odex or deodex. I was basically trying to pull the PNG files from Mik's Gingersense RC1 and put them in the Virus Gingersense B3. I can't stand the sprint lovers icons

Click to collapse
When replacing icons you must extract files and zip them back uzing 7z not winrar or winzip. Then just rename .zip to apk (don't skip file that needs to be repacked inside of another file and make sure you apk dosnt get double folders (like... framework-res\framework-res\framework-res.apk instead only framework-res.apk))

[Q] Need help with twframework-res.apk

Hello, so I just made few color changes on the drawable-hdpi folder images of twframework-res.apk. Then I pasted the new apk on my phone and replaced the current one on the system but nothing changed on the icons I made changes.
Do I need to follow any extra steps in order to make it work? I noticed there is a file called twframework-res.jar as well, so that may have to do with it?
The images I am trying to edit are the ones when you click the menu button(these are called ic_menu) and can also be found on the framework-res.apk. Also what is the difference between these two apks?
I find you get best results when flashing apks, and try clearing dalvik cache before you flash do it rebuilds the new images into the cache.
Hope this helps.
You can flash apk's? how ?
Using the install zip method? It doesn't show on the sdcard though.
Download a theme, open it with 7zip and go to the system folders. In these delete any apks. Then goto system/framework and put your apks in, then back all the way out. Boot into recovery and flash, job done.

[Q] System Font Color

Hey could someone with the know how, write up a quick tutorial on how to change the system font color? I have researched it and found what i thought was the answer, but when i make the changes and save everything i get a bootloop. what i did was, use ninjamorph to extract all the files in framework -res.apk, then i pulled all the files to my PC, i changed the files (tertiary_text_dark, tertiary_text_light, tab_indicator_text, tab_indicator_text_v4) in framework -res.apk/res/color. All the other files i didnt see any color code to be changed. Once i made the changes, i dragged them back to my sd card, and used ninjamorph again to replace the files i changed, ninjamorph, then repack and installed the new modified framework -res.apk, but on reboot, gets stuck on bootloop. I tried using apkmanager to decompile, which worked, but after making changes i get an error on the re-compiling part, hence why i used ninjamorph. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

[Q] How to customize through UOT Kitchen

Hi All,
I am using Sebs.. Runnymede AIO 6.1.1 INT2SD-S rom. I just wanted to change the icons and battery icon with %. I tried all the options there in UOT with /data/app_s, /system/app etc by uploading the files from the respective folders from my rom.
The zip downloaded from the UOT did nothing for me.
Please tel me how to do?
Thanks in Advance
you cook up all the changes you want then upload your systemUI.apk and framework-res.apk and the appropriate themes/icons gets created. You then download the zip put it on your SD card go into recovery make a nandroid back up and install the zip from recovery.

[Q] Signing System Applications

I have modded my SystemUI.apk with the instructions found here. The only problem is that my status bar won't show up at all because I didn't sign it. Even when I did sign it though, it still failed to show up. I have tried signing all the .apks under /system/app/, and framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk under /system/framework/. When I sign all of them (tried with APKChanger, APK Multitool), the system just boot loops. The ROM I am using is a modified version of stock 2.3.4. Could the problem be that I have placed some downloaded apk files under /system/app/ (to customize my rom)? If not, what is the problem and what can I do to solve it?
Someone reply please?
you have to sign whole system/app folder with dsxida kitchen or use this
